Yes we know who is the real boss, but this way, that could change as if Berlusconi takes all responsability, noone will want to see him again in Milanello for years/decades (and as he is old ...
).Something I don't understand, as Kaka' doesn't care about money (still look funny to me when I say that about football players who earn all that money), why Berlusconi uses this excuse that he can't increase Kaka's wage as high as Man City offers him ?? That would mean that each time a club offers something and you say no, you have to increase the wage of the player ... if that worked this way, football would be dead since 10 years already !! |

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a long time because I spend too much time doing it when I get started, but I still stop by and read the boards. Hope you're all doing well. Just wanted to throw my two cents worth into the Kaka discussion...
I will hate to see Kaka leave if it happens. He's meant so much to the club and I've always envisioned him becoming what Maldini has been to the club. But there are a few facts we have to face: I certainly don't want to defend that fascist bastard Berlucsoni, but unless Silvio wants to make Milan his personal plaything like Abramovich and the Arabs, Milan simply can't afford to come close to the salary Manchester City is offering. It would be stupid to do so. So it comes down to a choice among three possibilities: letting Kaka go (if that's what he wants) and taking four times what his market value should be, turning down the money (and forcing him to stay even if he wants to go) or forcing him out for the money. So let's take a look at the options, one by one: I believe that in his heart Kaka doesn't want to leave Milan. But he has many things to consider. First of all, he could do a lot of good for his family and for others with that sort of money. I can't blame players for taking silly money when stupid owners offer it. So it would seem to be a question of choosing between the Arab money and his love for Milan. But there's more to it than that. Where Kaka is being pressured is by his agent and his father. Both stand to make an enormous amount of money off this deal if it goes through. If I remember correctly, the agent will make in the neighborhood of $60 million off the deal and Kaka's father will make almost $20 million. He knows that making this move would bring them a lot of security as well. We can argue whether or not they really have Kaka's best interests at heart or their own, but this is something Kaka must decide for himself. I will respect him either way. If Milan turns down the money, that's fine if Kaka also wants to stay at Milan. But if Kaka decides to make the move, how can Milan say no? And would it not be in the best interest of the club to sell him if he wants to make the move? If Kaka becomes unhappy with Milan, it will be easier for Real Madrid to come back in and buy him next summer for less than Manchester City is offering. So I don't think Milan can turn down the money if Kaka decides he wants to go. The third option would be to force Kaka out, even if he wants to stay. I can't see this happening either. Everyone has said they want Kaka to stay, from Berlusconi down to all the players who have been quoted in the press. The fan base would be furious and it's not as though Berlusconi actually needs the money (he can always steal more from the government). So I think it comes down to whether or not Kaka decides that his love for Milan is worth more than what Manchester City is offering. This is not as easy a decision as most of us would like to think it would be. It's easy for us to sit here at the computer and carry on about loyalty and love for the club, claiming that we would be pure and choose the club over the money. It's easy because none of us have ever been in that situation, nor is it likely any of us ever will be. The pressure he is getting from his agent and his father only make this decision that much more difficult. I hope with all my heart that Kaka stays at Milan, but I will not blame him if he chooses to go. And if Kaka does go, it won't be the end of the world. Milan is bigger than any one player. In fact, it could be viewed as an opportunity if Milan were to use the money wisely (although I know some of you are convinced they wouldn't). Milan could buy five world class players to strengthen the squad and still have funds left over. The squad actually could be better off in the long run. The sickening thing about this, for me, isn't what Kaka decides to do or whether or not Milan sells him. The thing that disgusts me is for a club (in this case, Manchester City) to be taken over by billionaires who only want to play fantasy football with their money. What City is doing is much worse, really, than Chelsea after Abramovich took over. At least Chelsea hired Mourinho and he had a plan. They bought a lot of great players and overpayed for most of them, but still the transfer fees were within reason. What City is doing is ridiculous and really is a black mark on the game. At least when Real Madrid offers obscene amounts of money, they're doing it because they are Real Madrid. It's a place where great players have always wanted to play. City is suddenly acting as though they are Real Madrid, even though they have few accomplishments to show for it. Honestly, the best thing that could happen -- not only for football in general, but even for Manchester City itself -- would be for City to be relegated this year. Whether they buy Kaka or not, I am hoping they fall apart and end up in the bottom three. Maybe that would teach them some humility.

Well the thing is that, and I mentioned it in other threads, all of football world should prey that Milan and Kaka stays together b/c if not, nobody will be save anymore. Maybe after Kaka, they will go to Barcelona and offer 300M for Xavi, Eto and Messi? Or just across the street to Inter and offer 300M for Ibra, Cambaiso and Maicon? This is the start of something really crazy and I am cheering for Wigan tonight to beat Man City and do wish them to relegate b/c this is not healthy for football or sports. The thing with Chelsea was that they did threw money around but not 4 times more than the players' actual value.

Again, that's easy for us to say because we aren't in that situation. Like it or not, football is a business, not just for the clubs but for the players. Very few of us, even if we were already making good money, would turn down a chance to have our salary quadrupled. Plus, Kaka gives a rather large percentage of his earnings to the church, so that would mean much more money that the church could use to help the poor, etc. And we can't discount the money his father and his agent will make off the deal as I believe that is where the real pressure is coming from.

Yep, just twice more
![]() About the clause that Kaka' could have asked to Man City to leave if they don't clear their objectives in 2010, let's use it: we sell him at 150M, hope for Man City to struggle and we buy him back ? ![]() |

one of my Juventini friend said that Buffon could go with about 50M... maybe we could use half of Kaka's sale to buy Buffon, one of Man ****ty's target, to take some revenge LOL

Rick, the reality is that Milan is one of the few, if not the only big team that runs itself with honor and pride. Maybe I am saying this b/c I am a Milan fan but Milan stood for traditions and honor and if Milan is to go ahead to let Kaka goes to Man City, the effect is alot stronger than say, Inter selling Ibra to Man City for the same price, b/c Inter and Ibra are not like Milan and Kaka, esp Kaka who is really one of the last great player who enjoys playing the game and inspire others and not a glory hunter or gold digger like C7.
If this deal do go through, I would not blame Kaka b/c he wants to stay but apparently the team don't. I agree in the economic part of this deal b/c lets face it, you really can't get better than this, having said that this transaction also shows that Milan is no longer a club that have pride and honor. Not only are they letting go the future symbol of the club and football, but they are also selling what they stood for all these years-tradition of Honor and Pride and Sportsmanship before money- in one single transfer. Regardless of what Milan do afterwards, even if they win 5 CL/Series A/SuperCup/in a row....and be undefeated for the next 5 yrs, my love for Milan will no longer be the same, and I am sure I am not alone in that respect. |

I totally agree, ! great post.... but,
do u really think that berlu and galliani will use 120 milions for new players ? i think not,... i think that Berlusconi will buy , or make a new TV programme, then he will use the money for politics, and CORRUPTION in politics, then he will probably give much bigger payments for players like seedorf, beckham, ronaldinho,.... maybe he will also use the money for criminal, and italian MAFIA, and in the end, he will probably say to galliani to buy another player like ronaldinho and beckham, (overpaid superstars from the PAST), or i dont know, maybe CR 7 ?? and spend much more money on him... so, from 120 milions, milan will have only ONE new player, who is some superstar, or a MODEL, like beckham, ... he will not use money for players like Agger, or Santacroce, ... and from 120 milions, he can buy at least 5-6 WORLD CLASS players from 20-25 years, but, probably that will not happen.... and , the other thing is: did u think about this.... This winter Kaka goes to Manchester, and then... what could happen ? he could play very bad, not on his level, because of premier legaue, and maybe he couldnt play football on english way, in premier legaue, just like Sheva... or, he could play very well, and with Robinho maybe avoid relegating...and, finally, he could play bad/good (doesnt matter in this case) and see how his team is being relegated to second league... I think that in all three cases, Kaka will not be HAPPY !, so, what happens than ? he would probably want to leave, and the question is: WHERE? i think there are only 2 options: Real Madrid and Milan... He will probably choose Milan, just like Sheva did, and for same reason....so Milan could maybe get him back for less money, but, also , that depends of galliani and berlu, will they pay even 60 milions for Kaka? and P.S. What have Milan did with money from Sheva, !? and from CL 2007 ? , sheva + winning CL is around 70-80 milions !? what, they bought zambrotta for that money?! or, just after selling sheva, in summer of 2006, which player Milan bought ?? |

I just read an very interesting article on a Chinese site. Bascially it stated that Hamburg could lose De Jong for 2.5 M next year, and Man City is coming in to buy in for 15M, but Hamburg said no, and state that they will never sell to Man City as they are not a better club than them, if they are selling their players, it will be to clubs like Real or ManU, b/c those are better clubs than us.
They also got into the De Rossi thing and how Sensi said even if there is an offer, they will say no right away b/c De Rossi is in their plan and is the future symbol. Then they went on about how Valencia already said no to Man City about Silva, Pool said no regarding Torres, Arsenal with Cesc, Juve and Buffon staying together.... Then the article mocks Milan about a club kept telling the world they have honor and tradition and is one of the biggest club in the world and yet they are selling their symbol to a club that even Hamburg thinks is not on the same level as them. Like I said, Berlu, Galli and co should really be ashame of themselves if they do go through with this. |
