It makes perfect sense that Berlu would (allegedly) use this situation for his own political gain, inflating Man City's asking price and then planning to deny it and declare Kaka is staying. Then he's looked upon as a saint after telling those dastardly sheiks to get lost.

Surely some of you must have laughed upon first hearing about Man City offering Kaka 500K a week. That's two million dollars a month, in addition to the $100 million purchase price. No one in their right mind would fork over that obscene amount of moolah for a single player, no matter how rich they are.

Galliani cannot understand why the fans are so unhappy with an administration that has taken the club to the top of the world.

tgcom

Why does not this man just take a vow of silence and walk off silently into oblivion?

Idiot.

There are limits on how often we can invoke past successes, especially when it is used 'justify' actions affecting the future.

It's noted that Berlusconi can't be seen to invest as much as he used to because he's the Prime Minister (conflict of interests and all that).

But would that still apply to his son? I don't know how much his son is worth, but would Piersilvio have the funds to keep us afloat? However you look at it, right now we're not being run properly. The money is being spent in the wrong areas and on the wrong people. Plus we have an on off benefactor who can only help us when he's not leading the country. If he's willing and able, let jnr have a go!

Exactly! That is like saying the management is immune to all criticism by virtue of past glories. Empires crumble this way. We are a football club that has to change within the European context. If, for example, he were to say, "look this is a ridiculous amount of money and we can buy 3-4 players to reinforce our team" I would have a lot more respect for him.

However, this is the same man, who, in 1988 or so, said that I will stick by Berlusconi for the rest of my life because the man knows money.

All this nonsense about covering debts is just that. This money will line the pockets of Don Silvio and his impertinent offspring.

How many of us were gutted when Sheva left? We should have learnt by now that no one is bigger than the club.

No one is bigger than the club, there is no doubt about that.
If Kaka decides to leaves we have to accept that, we can be disappointed and sad yes, but the club will move on. But this situation is almost certainly not about Kaka's wishes alone.

Reza I know what you mean and believe me IF Galliana/Berlu came out and said the money would be spent solely on the club then I would have no problems but when he comes out and says none of it will be spent on players then what kind of image does that give out?

This is suppose to be the biggest club in the world, well the owners should act like it.

I agree with you Ghost. But there is one inconsistency here, not in what you say, but in general.
For example:
-We get 100 mil and buy Messi, are we a better team? I wouldn't say so, I don't have anything against Messi, but Kaka out Messi in is not that big of an upgrade even IF Messi is better than Kaka.
-Kaka out, top forward mid AND top defender in. Maybe one can argue that we have addressed several areas with one sale, but even then the gains on balance are less than they could be.

My point is that unless it is purely Kaka's wishes then even spending all of the money received in not a guarantee of improvement. And anyway we all know the chances of spending all we receive is not high.

I personally don't believe for a moment that kaka is trying to choose between Milan, his love, and City, the financial reward.

He is undoubtedly being forced to choose between the God and himself.
His father must be, must be manipulating him into thinking more money means more reward for his chosen God. He must be telling Kaka by making this much of money, they can further the good causes they always envisaged. How could Kaka say no to that? He belongs to God. And the money will better the world around him, at least according to his father.

Yes I agree we need to evolve and develop within the matrix of European football but do you not agree that the Empire started to crumble a tad while ago? The Berlusconi's almost gratuitously cavalier attitude concerning Milan's finance meant we were left to atrophy in nearly all areas while Inter enjoyed unprecedented monopoly of success. They are contemplating the same picture at the same time as us. why the lack of vision? why the lack of intuition of this magnitude Kaka-wise? Sorry once start, I just can not stop complaining of them.

Manchester City sources suggest the £108m offer for Kaka is a “ridiculous” story drummed up by the media and Milan also refuse to state the figures

The Observer newspaper has made remarkable allegations that Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi's media empire sparked the rumours so that he would gain positive publicity when Kaka turned it down
