I was watching Milan Channel live. All the people in the studio were hoping that Kaka refuses the offer. The way they were speaking gave me the impression of 50/50 chance, they mentioned all the things why Kaka has to refuse, but the fact that Kaka's father, Galliani and Manchester City officials were already in a meeting together was not a good sign. All of a sudden there faces became blue, and they said that an information arrived that a deal with Manchester was reached. They were so much frustrated that one of them said that he cannot continue on the show and asked to stop the transmition. After few minutes they said that this news was not official, but there face was very sad till the end of the program. |

I don't really see the point of selling him this summer after all that this winter ... they saw what the damage can be with fans, how popular Kaka' is.

From Manchester City official website (so they were waiting for this agreement to make an update):
Club terminate discussions over Kaka 19/01/2009 22:10 Manchester City has terminated its discussions with AC Milan over the possible transfer of the player Kaka. Following a meeting in Milan today, the Club felt that it was unlikely that the two parties could reach common ground for an agreement. The discussions reached only a preliminary stage and the player was not involved at any time. No commercial terms were framed. Commenting on the situation, Garry Cook stated: "Whilst Manchester City Football Club has an obvious interest in world class players of the quality of Kaka, we owe it to our fans that such a transfer must work on every level; commercially, financially, in terms of results on the field and within Manchester City's broader community." |
