I don't remember this but Maradona apparently transformed Napoli single handedly. According to the editor of NOTW that's what City asked Kaka to do, in more glorified terms of course. Even two days ago this editor was unconvinced that that will convince Kaka. If you strip off his spin, Cook is unwittingly revealing himself to be an absolute novice, as you rightly said. And that helped Milan. City owners I think might now be realising it was Cook who failed. Also Cook having no clue explains the City's strategy of not signing the players they desperately need to avoid the drop. Acquiring Kaka would have further destabilised the squad which is already demoralised and collectively looking for new clubs. |

To be honest, Berlu and Galli played Cook and City like a fool. When you read what Cook was stating in the newspaper, Galli and Berlu never agreed to anything, they just said you can continue with you process. As you get a sense that Cook actually believed Berlu and Galli were gentlemen of their words. Thats was Cook's first mistake.
His second mistake was not knowing what Kaka's wants and more importantly what his dad's wants. His third mistake was trying to create publicity by hyping this deal, and yet he blamed Berlu and Milan for that, as I am sure he told Eng. press about this. HIs forth mistake is, quite franky, underestimate the power of Milan fans and Kaka's will to stay in Milan. His last mistake is that thing that I jsut read on the other page, where he just confirmed that he is stupid, Berlu and Galli are made to be genius, City's offer is not as appealing as they thought, b/c if so, Kaka's side won;t be asking all those questions and lastly, if thats something that he thought it could save his and City face, he is so wrong. Overall, Man City and Cook were fools to believe Galli and Berlu and I actually feel sorry for Cook. |

but at the end after reading few posts there I think the joke now is on them. B&G is exactly playing them like a cat playing with dying mouse. I feel sorry for City. All at the end just point the difference quality between Milan and City. And nothing more embarasing than being exactly pointing as a loser (with all do respect I dont think City as a loser just try to make the explanation clearly ). But I hope they can find another solution. Bellamy isnt bad either ![]()

I think I am inclined to agree with ACMILAN 1983 more than anybody else on this, although yes I think he might be being a tad too cynical.
The reason is nobody, absolutely nobody believed Kaka would join City from the beginning. Also I think an analogy with Chelsea is specious because when the oligarch bought the club, they were already an established club. They won the Cup Winner's cup, and they were in the CL. You must remember who Kaka is, and where City are..they are only four points above the relegation zone. And suddenly to put Kaka into the City team would have further imbalanced the team, never mind improving its performances. I think most of the stories emanating from City are spinned to various degrees. Yesterday on Sky, Cook emphasised SO much that the offer was never made to the player, he revealed to us that that is exactly what they did. Tacitly, of course, but this is the guy who has no understanding of how transfer works, or how to work the press. Which is the last thing our B&G are. |

I never believe this transfer from the get go and always know Kaka will stay, but having read what Cap said today, not sure if he was playing with the press or the press twisting his words.. I got a sense that Cap and the others actually believed Kaka was leaving. I guess we will never know what really took place but one thing is for sure, Kaka will not be going anywhere now after what took place.

I do, because I can't imagine why they'd send people to Italy to negotiate if they weren't serious. Also it's impossible to buy all the best players in the world in one fell swoop. |

I just can't help thinking Berlusconi knew it all along what would happen. He knew Kaka would say no. He knew the fans would go hysterical. He also knew the press would make him out to be a bad greedy guy, only to celebrate him as a hero in short order if he were to refuse selling him at the very last moment. Berlusconi might have been tempted by the money in the past and in the last month, but also he must have known of the devastating consequences of selling Kaka, especially commercially. Ever since Real started spreading lies in the global press about Kaka and Real, he became a player we could never, ever let go. If nobody ever wanted Kaka things might have been a tad different. He could have been known as this dorky, clumsy type of a guy who is seriously religious. But his looks meant girls of all ages who loved football became infatuated with him, he had to hire a helicopter to reach the church for his wedding, because of the hysteria that surrounded it. He was "it", even then. Then came the CL glory, and Real. For us, after going through all the nonsense from Spain, after enduring all the unnecessary suspense and anxiety for three years, selling Kaka to CITY now would have been a grotesquely treacherous act on the part of B&G. And the fans world wide would never have forgiven Milan. I read so many fans claiming they would stop supporting Milan, which was quite a frightening image. Maybe not so on the pitch, not currently, but Kaka is a brand we simply can not do without. That was mainly why I thought accepting the deal was a death wish for Milan. Anyhow I also agree with you on one particular point, I now think Kaka will stay with us until he retires. Last edited by daryl; 21-01-2009 at 05:52. |

I don't know if he'll stay with us until he retires ... but all I know, it's that I'll have some stress about him leaving this summer, I don't know why. It would be stupid to sell him the next summer for probably a less important amount of money than this winter, but who knows ... like we don't know exactly what happened on the last few days, we are not able to predict what will happen on the next mercato.
But I'm sure about one thing: if he stays with us this summer too, he'll be here at least until the summer of 2012 (current contract finishing in 2013). Then, at this moment, I think our management will think about selling him or keeping him with a new and last contract, depending on the situation of the team (Pato shining in our team and others looking like normal players, a strong team, or just Pato-Kaka'-?? for example, etc ...). Another thing I'm sure is that I'd like to see Kaka' playing like before his Golden Ball ... Gabriel: You might be happy to know that Kaka' could play the second half tonight against Hanover in a new role ... the one of captain !! I didn't think it would be done so quickly ... and if he is our captain for the end of the season, I'm afraid he could leave then as he would have achieved all his goals in Milan ?! Just kidding ... |

I heard Cook's interview on the radio. He had one agenda and that was to save Man City from any embarassment. However he was talking nonense.
First he said : It was quite clear that Milan wanted to sell the player Then he said : Then he said Milan were playing games and had a political agenda Then he said : Milan bottled it Basically, he designed a suitable answer for every question. The guy was just talking business speak and his only agenda was that Man City dont come out of the sitation loking bad and that people dont stop believing they can attract players. Then the bafoon saked "I dont know how Milan could reject an offer they never actually got?" Does he expect people to believe that he was there for 2 days and never actually madean offer. I have gone to see plenty of cars and made offers that were rejected. I could say I never put an offer in, but the truth is that my offers got rejected.

Oh right, Kaka is captain tonite. Personaly, as long as Milan at least earn a spot in the CL and win something-UEFA Cup this year, Kaka will not be going anywhere. Ofcourse the constant AS will continue to make stories about Kaka going to Real.....but at the end of the day, Kaka will be staying and most importantly, B & G will not let Kaka goes to Real. They will shut the door when Real comes knocking even with an offer of 80M + Ramos(future symbol of Real BTW).
All these Real rumors are a way for Real to switch the attention from Calderon resigns due to all his dirty scandals. Quite Frankly, I don't know the exact story about why Calderon resigns but I am sure Real will not be the same after this, esp since Barcelona is kicking their ass in La Liga. As for those AS press, they kept saying Emerson said this, Carlos said this, Beck said this..... well Kaka said this, I will be staying in Milan and hope to grow old here. |
