I agee, milans defence is looking pretty solid for next season, i think we can pull off a good spot in the league and probably win the uefa cup with our current team, we still need to add some experienced strength in our backline for the next season however, i dont mean experience by 38 year olds at the end of their career, i mean someone like around the age of 26-27 whos proven themselves, I also think we need some work on the wings , a c.ronaldo type player because i notice we dont get that many good crosses in, zambrotta has his good games, jankulovski doesnt really impress me though

Thiago Silva is able to play as a RB as well, he has the pace and technique for that. Milan will go for another defender for sure coz of Nesta's fragile state. But the key for us is to have fit Nesta who will be a top defender untill he is 35, for sure.

Agger is good enough to play for Milan, and still "good" enough to be benched at some points of the season. Favalli, Maldini and Oddo will leave. Thiago, Matteoni and Agger in ? Good solution. Aldough my dream is:

Yes it would be nice, but taking Ribéry and keeping Ronaldinho (because we won't sell him after one year of course) is like saying goodbye to Gourcuff ... furthermore with Seedorf staying too and Kaka' as our captain .

It looks like Ancelotti has thought about our Kaka'-Ronaldinho problem in the team and I'm not sure that Ronaldinho will play as many games as in the first part of the season alongside Kaka' ... so we could see some players being unhappy this year (Seedorf or Ronaldinho depending on who will be benched the most for the attacking midfielders, then Flamini or other player could also be unhappy for our central-defensive midfielders), if you add Ribéry, then we could have one more player being unhappy, and to finish, if you also add Gourcuff ... what will be our formation and the ambiancy in the team ?

We'll be a kind of Inter with 50 players for our midfield and it's not a good solution, it's better to have 6 WC players for 4 places (risks of injuries) than 10 (WC, good, average) players for 4 places (problems of ambiancy).

It was just my thought about a possible offer for Ribéry ...

To summarize, it's clearly impossible to take Ribéry for next year because of our current situation in midfield !!

Anyway, Bayern wants to keep him, but he is going to want to move to a better club like each time after 2 years in his new club. Knowing that, I think Bayern will try to keep him one more year, but we can use the following strategy:
- we take back Gourcuff from loan
- we give Oddo to Bayern if they give us an option for Ribéry
- we pay this option quickly and sign him for the following year as Seedorf will probably go

2009-2010: Kaka', Seedorf, Ronaldinho, Gourcuff (1 WC, 1 future WC, 1 good, 1 average/good)
2010-2011: Kaka', Ribéry, Ronaldinho, Gourcuff (3 WC, 1 good)

Generally, we say that we can't judge a player on one performance (we often say that when the performance is bad, except for Shevchenko, after one bad performance, we understood ).

Why do you want to put Thiago Silva in RB ?!
We bought him to be a starter in CB position, and his real position is this one, so why putting him on RB ?! (I repeat a second time the question, I know, starting to be old )

I think for the defense, you think about something like that:
RB: Mattioni, Abate
LB: Kaladze
RB/LB: Zambrotta, Antonini
CB: Nesta, Agger, Bonera, Thiago Silva

So I'd want you to clear some questions I ask myself about your team:
- why not buying a real RB (De Silvestri from Lazio for example) instead of taking back Abate and put him in RB position whereas he is clearly a RW-RAM or RM ...
- why buying Cigarini if you take Gourcuff and put Jankulovski in midfield ... they don't have the same position, I know, but it's too much players I think. Gourcuff+Cigarini would be enough, or Gourcuff+Jankulovski (rescue solution if there is a problem in our defense with LBs)
- why don't you put Ronaldinho and Kaka' in forwards list ?

I share your thought about our attack, Inzaghi will probably stay, we need Pato of course and a fit Borriello. Instead of Balotelli that I don't like so much, let's call back Paloschi ... less money used lol (if Galliani reads that ... we can be sure Paloschi will be back next year !!), and so our hierarchy would be Pato-Boriello-Paloschi and Inzaghi as a joker sometimes.

The problem is going to be: Who will want to buy us Shevchenko, Emerson, Dida and Kalac ? Will Seedorf want to leave ?

For me, to play Santacroce as RB is more of a waste then to play Thiago there. Again, there is SANTACROCE in my team. With Agger the starting pair of CB's is Nesta-Thiago. And fullbacks are Zambro and Kaladze(or Mattioni if he is good, then Zambro is LB). For me Kaladze is much better playing at LB then at CB. Also there's Marek ( who is not capable of playing that, but as rotation player etc...), Antonini...even Bonera as RB.

Why bring back Abate? Coz he is a player capable of playing few positions: RB, RM, even AM. Young and agressive player that is free and can bring freshness in a long season. Its not obligatory that he plays strictly as RB. I would actually use him in midfield more. The role Beckham plays now Abate can do 3 times better. In the list he is a defender, but hey - even Seedorf is a forward sometimes in Milan's list

I'd buy Cigarini coz our midfield needs to have number of quality players if we are going for scudetto and CL. We now have B team that is not capable of beating noone! Cigarini would replace not needed emerson.

Gourcuff and Marek CAN and dont have to play same positions. They are both versatile players. You people have forgotten how some players are very versatile that we have, since Carlo has a football immagination of my grandmother. And uses players extremly strictly. Yoan is an AM, LM, RM... I really hope we'll sign some italians in the summer. as all of our quality italians are getting old and soon we become like inter if we dont do something about it. Santacroce, De silvestri, Motta, Cigarini, Palombo, Rosina, Rossi... to name a few.

and as for that young GK I think we've already signed a young goalkeeper from santos, his name is Felipe.

We can be great again with 2 big signings. Santacroce and Rossi. and gourcuff coming back.
+ some smaller signings a la Cigarini!
