it doesnt matter, he shouldnt say these things when its not sure that he is coming back. Carlo should praise the kid for what he's doing at bordeaux and he has to say that he is very happy with his progress and that he cant wait to have him back at milanello!! thats what this idiot has to say. come on, we're talking about one of the most promising youngsters around and we're about to loose him becouse carlo doesnt have faith in him and says these things.

Of course he doesnt want Yoan back! You think that Gourcuff would play if Carlo had a choice between him, ambrosini, Beckham, Seedorf, pirlo in the middle... he'll play every 10th game.

The man will choose Bourdoux, play WC and then move to Barca, Real, United etc.

We should beg him to come back, not talk idiotic things like this. "he played what he deserved..." yeah right...Brocchi also deserved all that playing time, of course...

Carlo doesn't know to coach, or manage young players, unless their wc. He can't develop their play, merely stifle it. Our team today could have Flamini, Gourcuff, Darmian & Antonini playing instead of the deadwood that's out there vs Bologna. Score irrespective.

Well Flamini and Gourcuff are world class. Don't know what you have to be to get a start.

With regards to Carletto of all his contributions to Milan, I'd prefer he to go away at the end of season than to lose Gourcuff.

Most of us would. But I can understand how difficult how it is to pick a team from players of that quality. 5 to be picked from Kaka, Seedorf, Pirlo, R80, Flamini, Gattuso and Gourcuff.. it's not easy.

Are you sure you're not just saying that because of a youth fetish? Flamini, Gourcuff, Darmian (???) and Antonini would lose a match against Ambro, Seedorf, Pirlo and Beckham every time.

This isn't Football Manager.

I think what Carlo said about Gourcuff was right. In the games he played last year, he was mostly disappointing. We could have forced him to play, and made him more confident and given him time, but it would have been a tough decision to do that if it meant sacrificing a teams balance. Loaning him out and giving him room and time to grow was the best decision. You're all making these judgments with the benefit of hindsight. People expected Gourcuff to flourish, and the only mistake was not making the option to buy more in the range of 20-25m. If he does get back, he'll have no chance replacing Kaka. Like Carlo said, he's too slow. He'll have to compete with Seedorf and Ambro, which is a very fair thing to have said. You don't want to give the kid false hope and promise things you can't deliver. He's just being realistic.

But he should be carefull in what he sais in media concerning Yoan. And why would anyone in the world replace Kaka'? Noone can replace Kaka'. I dont think C.Ronaldo can replace Kaka' in milan.

I see Yoan completely capable of playing central midfielder in Milan, next to Flamini, Pirlo, Gattuso... Or AM next to Kaka' and behind Pato.

But brk, following your logic very few, if any, young players would get games at Milan or any other team for that matter. He is clearly quality and the quality didn't just develop in the past summer when he left on loan. Of course loans are part of the reality of teams but the manner of his time here and the clauses put in the loan make it difficult to expect him back.

He wont come back? Whould you guys? He'll play in France one more year, play WC and then move on whereven he feels like for 30mln...

Milan needs to make guarantees for him to play. And we do have space for him in first 11.

I prefer the second option...AM with Kaka behind Pato. Kaka from about '07 was no longer the playmaker type of AM but more of a pure impact AM. Gourcuff would balance this out being the playmaker that he is. I think we'd really limit Gourcuff by burdening him with defensive responsibilities in a 3 man midfield.

Abbiati; Mattioni (?), Silva, Nesta, Zambro; Gattuso(C), Flamini, Pirlo; Gourcuff; Kaka, Pato sounds good to me.

Bench: Random GK, Janku, Kaladze, Bonera, Ambro, Dinho, Borriello

Then again this is all irrelevant with next season being the season before the WC...Gourcuff will be advised not to go anywhere he won't be guaranteed playing time. If these reports are to be believed, Carlo should really choose his words better. Which reminds me...when does Carlo's contract expire. At the end of next season ?

come on man be real, carlo is handeling the gourcuff sitiation very badly! I dont know maybe i'm wrong but I think he has problems with gourcuff on a personal level and just does not like the kid. So he does not want him back. Thats why he's making these statements.
He doesnt have to promise him a starting spot. but what he said was totally different. He shouldve congratulated him with his great play at bordeaux and that he is very happy that he can work with him again next season. as simple as that! and give him a call now and then, for example after his more than fantastic goal against PSG. or when he got his first cap... etc.

At the end of millenium most likely...

And I told you why Carlo the idiot wont call Yoan back in Milan. Coz then Seedorf, Dinho, Beckham need to be benched for good. Becouse Yoan is better then all of them right now.

You guys should go back and see the exact quote and question regarding Gourcuff that was asked of Carlo. He was asked a specific question, can Gourcuff replace Kaka. He said no, he's slower and less dynamic. Who among us will disagree with that statement? He then said that whatever playing time Gourcuff got last year, is what he deserved based on his effort in games and training. We don't know what goes on in training really, and his performances in games weren't inspiring at all. It just looked like he was just in Milan at the wrong time. Maybe his time isn't even next year, maybe after the world cup, when there will be room for him to play.

Well, yes you're right. That's the why you should never buy a quality young prospect if you already have an established player in his late 20's, like Kaka. You buy a young guy when you have a player at the end of his peak years, like Inzaghi and now Pato replacing him. Kaka replaced Rui Costa (although a bit too quick for my tastes... I love Rui Costa). The problem with Gourcuff is that he was brought in to kind of replace Seedorf, but the man seems to just keep getting better with age.

edit: Young players should play in smaller teams, not make the jump to a big team too soon; like Gourcuff.

The only exception to this rule is when the young player is so good that he commands a place in the team on merit and not as some sort of investment for the future; Cristiano Ronaldo and Pato.
