I actually wouldn't mind that. Keep Pato on the bench while Borriello destroys the other team, and unleash him early in the second half where he would run like crazy. It worked brilliantly before Borriello got injured.

and 19-year old kid is better than them...
herny is not so good anymore, but obviously better than bojan.. so bojan is not so special after all... if he is really something , he will be playing instead of henry....
pato is much much better, u can't compare them... pato with 19 years already has some continuity and experience!
This doesn't make sense to me. You think it's harder to get playing time ahead Henry (31) than ahead of Pippo (35) and Sheva (32)?

And what does it matter that Pippo is the best scorer in European competitions, and Sheva is the second highest scorer for Milan? They're still past their best, and you can't even compare Sheva in his current state to Henry in his.

I do think Pato is the bigger prospect of the two (him and Bojan), but please remember and acknowledge that Bojan is a year younger and competes with Messi, Eto'o, Henry, Iniesta and Hleb for a spot, whereas Pato has two old players and one perma-injured (Borriello).

i trully doubt that kricic or any other player would do 50% of what pato is doing even if they have no competition at all...
Messi and Eto'o, that's two he wouldn't bench.

And do really mean ANY player? I could mention plenty of players who could do 50% or more of what Pato has done (I'm not going to, though ). I think people should be a bit careful about overhyping Pato, wonderful as he is, though.

3 times easier?!? So if Luca Toni had played in Spain a few years ago, he would have scored 93 goals?

Yeah people let's not even compare the two situations...Bojan has probably the best player in the world, the La Liga top scorer (with an amazing ratio this year.. > 1.0 goal/game) and Henry to fight with for a spot.

Pato has Pippo (can't play too often..age/injury issues) , Sheva (more like $heva) and Borriello who's injured to compete with. Not to take anything away from Pato but Bojan has 50x the competition to deal with.

To already consider Pato to be the best in the world and to say that he's god and other stuff like that has pressure or complacency impact on the player.

Sorry to say this, but your lack of knowledge about Robbie Fowler says more about you than it does about the 'moron' who was doing the comparisons.

It's not your fault though as i doubt you've seen much (if anything) of Fowler in the Liverpool youth & reserve teams and then in the first team in his late teens/early twenties, which is probably the reason why this 'moron' made the comparison in the first place. When someone mentions Fowler to you, no doubt you and many others think of an unfit, slightly over weight striker that barely played for England.

I obviously don't know all that this person was saying in these comparisons, but if he was talking about natural finishing ability at a young age, then the comparisons between Fowler & Pato are far from madness. All the impressive & heavy goalscoring Pato does in training, Fowler has done before, it's nothing new. If anything Pato has alot to do to be as good a goalscorer as Fowler was in his early career, look at the stats and you'll see why i say this.

Currently they are about equal, Fowler had 18 goals in 34 matches in his first full season for Liverpool. Pato has 18/19 in 37 (something like that i think). Fowler then went on to score over 30 goals a season for 3 consecutive seasons and he did all this before he turned 22. He scored in his first game for Liverpool (1st leg of a cup match) and then scored 5 in the return leg 2 weeks later. He also has the fastest Premiership hat-trick at 4m 33secs against Arsenal of all teams (when they had a fantastic defence).

Remember this isn't about skill on the ball, stepovers or anything like that. It's about pure finishing ability and given the stats, Fowler has this in bucket loads. I'm also not saying one is better than the other, i'm illustrating my point that the comparisons between Fowler & Pato (at an early stage) are anything but madness to anyone who knows the players involved.

He was the PFA Young Player of the Year for 2 consecutive seasons in 95-96. Scored that brilliant 5 minute hattrick. I remember Fowler in the 2000-01 season when he was a treat to watch. I actually liked the Liverpool back then. Rush, Fowler, Mcmanaman, Owen were all very good players.. It's a little funny both Fowler and Owen started off promisingly and stayed like that for a while but faded towards the end. Owen isn't the same anymore.. Throw Cole, Yorke into that as well.. Thug Rooney is down the same path .. what's the deal with English strikers anyway?

No Jim, for real(aldough I know you enjoy insulting me in any possible way you find and that seems "suptile" and therefore acceptable ), I actually ADORED Fowler as a player, im not lying now. I watched him 1000 times, I know he is a born scorer. I loved the way he understands the game etc.But to compare il phenomeno and Fowler is a sentence of a clown. I stand by this.

Pato is, and by a good margin, a player Fowler will never be. He has something more, and Fowler is not, in my oppinion, a player to put amongst Pato and Il Phenomeno. But I accept your point, I didnt know all the fowler numbers, thanx for the info.

I called that man a "moron" coz of the way he behaved, like a moron.

Pato will go for the golden ball be sure of it.

Agree, pato possess a lot more talent, his physical attributes and skill set is among the top level which fowler lacks. If both reach their full potential, pato will be compared to il phenomeno, while fowler only reminds us pippo.

I think what happened to English strikers are that the media overhyed them too much. And these players actually believed them instead of keep working hard and improving their skills as players.
