Anyway, I made some searches ... and no club in the world has any revenue of 1 Billion !!

I have the numbers of 2006 with details (2005 numbers) and 2008 with no details (so 2007 numbers):

2005

1st: Real Madrid
- Matchday revenues: 63,7M € (23%)
- Broadcasting revenues: 88M € (32%)
- Commercial revenues (sponsorship, licences, adverts, etc): 124M € (45%)
-> Total revenue: 276M €

2nd: Manchester United
- Matchday revenues: 102,5M€ (42%)
- Broadcasting revenues: 71,7M € (29%)
- Commercial revenues: 72,2M € (29%)
-> Total revenue: 246M €

3rd: AC Milan
- Matchday revenues: 38,1M€ (16%)
- Broadcasting revenues: 138M € (59%)
- Commercial revenues: 57,9M € (25%)
-> Total revenue: 234M €


2007

1st: Real Madrid (351M €)
2nd: Manchester United (315,2M €)
... (Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal)
6th: AC Milan (227,2M €)

Anyway, everthing is going to change in the next few years ... Italian clubs were amongst the richest ones in 2005 because the biggest clubs negotiated very well their TV contracts. Nothing changed for years, especially with Calciopoli. But new deals have been or are going to be negotiated (I don't know if it was official when I read it) for the broadcasting part in Italy which is the most important revenue for Italian clubs. So the revenue of all the Italian clubs is going to increase again (and not only the one of the biggest clubs like in the past).

Why are we 6th? Actually i'm going to go on a limb here and blame our manager for this.. One scudetto in the last 2 years wouldve been good.

If you notice, there is a loss between the two periods ... why do you blame management ? Just to blame management ? All the Italian clubs lost money actually ... and it's because of Calciopoli !!

No new sponsorhips (who wants to sponsor a championship with cheating ?), money from broadcasting deals decreasing (Juventus in Serie B, Serie A becomes less interesting), etc ...

But the next deal should give more money, and it was, I think, easier to negotiate with Juventus there in the top of the table, but also Genoa, Napoli or Fiorentina. All or almost all the historical clubs of Serie A are in the first 10 places this year, it didn't happen for years/decades (did it ever happen ?).

EDIT: And our contract with BWIN is soon going to end, is it the reason why our management bought Ronaldinho and tries to buy Beckham, two of the most valuable players in terms of communication and commercial revenues ? Real Madrid has become the richest club when they had Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, and then Beckham, in their team ...
=> so our management will always be blamed by some of you:
- they take players for commercial reasons (Ronaldinho and Beckham are not the worst purchases of our history anyway) = "the results are not good enough"
- they take players for sport reasons, so young guys etc = "management doesn't bring money"

Didnt NIKE pay like a billion dollars to Man utd for they sponsorship...I dont know for how many years though!!!

I read the value in old francs (former money in France), it was signed in 2000 for 3.2Bn F, in €, that gives, approximately, 500M € ... but it was a contract for 15 years. If there was another contract signed since that date, just tell me but I didn't find it actually.

For us, we extended our contract with Adidas until 2017 at the start of 2008. I don't know the amount of money.

Geo you definitely have that last part wrong. People are usually complaining that our sporting needs have not been addressed properly over the last couple years. e.g. Dinho, Beckham are luxuries and not what we really needed.

I don't know why the guys don't just put money into building a team that WINS. That would be the best sort of marketing I'd think. You'd swear we need so much to become a winning team. And if money is such a problem then maybe they would want to release some of the under-performers making millions of euros to do squat.

Make money from a product that sells ie a good football team, not from having celebrity players. We are losing fans to other team because of out lack of style and substance on the pitch.

I dont remember but I read an article that Man utd, has around 53 mil supporters worldwide...amazing

there are hundreds around me.. most are fads.. it's bad for the english clubs that their supporters are glory hunters..

real madrid have like 130 mil supporter world wide JUVE comes in second, And as for our shirt sponsor 2010 will be fly emirates they will pay over 20 mil per annum it can rise up to 30 depending on winning UCL or Scudetto.

now talking about rich clubs, real madrid and man utd are indeed the richest but with alot of debt, if we take off the debt from the assets they wont be the richest, bayern will be first and we will be 2nd, and remember they own stadiums and we dont if we have our own stadium we will be the richest with many points ahead. check forbes

They have a lot of debts of course, but the datas I gave are about the revenues only, and not about profit and debt ... the ranking would be totally different if debt was taken in account, but why taking this in account ? When banks will ask to clubs to pay their debts, we will take that in account, but right now, as far as debt is allowed (more or less depending on the countries) ...

Anyway, we have a debt too, so I'm not sure we would be 2nd of that ranking ? For example, clubs in France make a little profit but they have absolutely no debt as it is not allowed (a debt, as small as it can be, makes you going directly to Ligue 2 and even more when the debt increases, you can be put in amateur divisions, and if your debt is too big, you just have to close ... it's because of this rule in France that French clubs and French politicians asked to UEFA to do the same in other countries and especially in Spain and, of course, the "I have a 3 billion debt that increases each year but who cares ?" England).

About our stadium, what are the plans for the next years ?
I know Inter plans to let us alone in San Siro (it would be time !! We were cool to let them playing in San Siro but we have shared it for too much time now ) for 2012 I think. So are we going to "buy" San Siro, to build another stadium ? The best would be to keep San Siro and to improve it ...

I expect Mattioni, Thiago Silva, Senderos and Antonini to play. For the other parts of the team, we don't have any choice, it's the same players than this week end or young ones ... I hope for the young ones because the others don't need to play a friendly game.

PS: Actually, I wouldn't mind if we lose this friendly game with 11 Primavera players ...

Are we really in such a financial trouble that we have to play these games now?
