Milan Takeover Bid

from goal.com

Report: Manchester City Owners Ponder Milan Takeover

According to reliable Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, sheik Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the owner of Premier League club Manchester City, is considering tabling a sensational €500 million bid to takeover 40 per cent of Milan.
It is reported that Fininvest, the company that controls the Rossoneri, has already given the go-ahead to start negotiations with the sheik’s Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment.

Fininvest’s president Marina Berlusconi, the daughter of Italian prime minister and Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi, has allegedly been advised to sell off the club, who are now in debt to the tune of €31.98m, according to latest figures.

Mansour has already done business with the Berlusconi family in the past; his group holds a five per cent stake in Mediaset, the media group controlled by the Rossoneri patron.

Last month, the Citizens owner tried to lure Milan star Kaka to Eastlands by putting on the table a whopping €120m offer but the Brazilian ultimately pulled the plug on the move.

Sheikh Al-Mansour Wants to buy 40% of AC MILAN

A Rumor coming from england says that man city owner is willing to pay 500 mil euros for 40% of ac milan, is it possible? i think its a goog idea as we already know that its about time italian teams and league will fade into the unknown. from an economic point of view they say milan are seriously considering the offer. I as fan dont want us to be controlled by someone who doesnot care about ac milan for the sake of football. on the other hand we the fans would love to see our team on the top of the world having the best players.

Let us wait and whats going on

I think its rubbish, sheik Mansoor want some headlines thats all...

And to be honest i dont think that the EPL example of foreign owners will work in Italy..too many problems already in EPL

No way for 2 reasons:

- we (and I) bash what happens in EPL, so that would be really disapointing if our club was to do that ... or almost that (because it wouldn't be 100% nor 51%).

- if the guy owns 40%, the next step will be 51%, but he owns 100% or almost of Manchester City, doesn't he ? So what's the point for him ? Trying to make us becoming a club where players come before going to Manchester City ? what a joke !!

Well, from an economic point of view, 40% for 500M is not a bad offer. But knowing Berlu, he will never do it unless he wants to sell the club as a whole.

From a fan's point of view, maybe this is something we need to improve the squad. As it is like having 500M more for Milan to spend. Santacroce and others will no longer be a dream for Milan.

As far as it's not written in the contract when it should be 51%/100%, it is 40%. 500M is an amount Berlu has to pay in a stretch of 10-15 yrs to compete with clubs like Real, Barca and Inter, and it never ends for those clubs. This offer sounds like a test for Berlu's whole family.

I don't see anybody rushing to buy part or all of Serie A teams, in my opinion it would be surprising if anything like this is true. But I think the note on the official site would probably have to be there even if this is true, something for early parts of any negotiations.
