Sometimes I just hope we do finish fourth and things will change then...

As I feared this quotation is made up. It says Carlo stays and in the summer two big players will arrive. Well, after what Galliani said yesterday, we appear to be taking a different approach.

Galliani confessed that our young youth players have chances to play for Milan again...Players like Abate, Paloschi, Albertazzi...He confessed that Milan can't compete against teams like Real Madrid and should focus on the players they have...He said Albertazzi would get into the first team..He believed he's matured enough...Plus we'll still get a striker and a defender as promised...In the past, Milan has missed a lot of good young players but he hopes to find players still capable and proud to play for Milan..Something like that...I don't speak Italian but that's what I gat so far...I'm glad he suddenly realises bout the sudden focus on young players

Wow, that looks like very good news to me ... the only problem is that Galliani says that one week after Mourinho who, if we believe reports, gave a list of 3-4 players from their Primavera who will be included in the first team to replace the older players who will leave.

So if both teams do it (Inter only did it with Santon as far as I know), it would be a step in the right direction for both teams, unfortunately for Inter too ... and it is as important, it could be a step on the right direction for Italian football. When I see some of the young players from Juventus, that just means there is still talent in Italy, it's just that they're blocked by the old stars.

Well, a few words of advise, sacks Carlo, sell Kaladze, Seedorf, Dida, Emerson, Sheva, Ambro and Pirlo, don't resign Favalli and Kalac, recall Abate, Gourcuff and DiGennaro and sign Santacroce/Zapata/Agger, Hernanes and a striker.

Why is Galliani saying that any way? if he is saying those from a scouting perspective then fine but if it is a "requirement" to have more youth based on money considerations or even let's say UEFA rules then it's not good news because it is forced, and worst of all if management is selecting for the coach -which as of now there is no reason to believe it will be anybody other than Ancelotti.
Of course I have posted about hoping for more youth, let's just hope its not haphazard and not out of non-footballing considerations though.

Fair enough, Mystik...
I saw Carizzo in Argentina(maybe not as much as you), and in NT and and was never impressed by him. But it´s ok, it´s just my opinion...

Please explain why Pirlo deserves to be on that list. I think the treatment he's getting on this board is really unfair, as he's shown how well he can perform when used properly.

Yup, definetly agree. Just don't get all the stuff that's thrown at him, he's one of our best players, period.

How about a moratorium on these cookie-cutter "sell Player X" posts until the season is over?

Yeah right. Half the fun is saying who we want out of Milan. I'd start with Dida, no wait emerson, or favalli, or kalac, or ukraine boy, or ponce spice, or.....

It is a good approach, but that aproach is not here coz Milan planned it but coz they dont have (????) the money to pay for big players.

We could have used these two poor years to properly insert few young players, but we used it on selling season tickets and shirts! Shamefull.

And now Galliani is playing smart, mah...

On a brighter side: we do not need more then two big players and few RIGHT young players. IF Ancelotti asked for one Cb and one forward and he gets two REAL players like Eto'o and...I dont know, Alex for example, and we insert Gourcuff, Abate, Paloschi, Albertazzi, Darmian, Kjaer....AND we rotate and play smart, we can do well.

But if our big player for CB is Kjaer and our forward is Kanoute, and Carlo continues with his old sistem of "rotation", we dont even have to start the season.

I still cant believe that Braida is not going for Santacroce or players like Motta ( now in Roma ) etc... its simply too strange.

Don't wory, Kanouté signed a new deal with Sevilla until 2012 - although we might sign him on a free transfer then .

On a more serious note I couldn't agree more with your last sentence. There are so many talented young Italian players around, we really should be signing some of them. Maybe it's hard to see the new Maldini and the new Baggio among them, but still many of them would certainly boost our squad. Just look at Motta, he wasn't that highly rated or famous until Roma signed him (though he was captain of the U-21s) and now he's with the Italian NT.

To me Marchetti, Santacroce, Canini, Cigarini, Rossi etc. etc. would all be very welcome additions.

TO me, I think Pirlo is one of the main reasons Milan is slowing down in transition.
