If we keep Ambrosini and if we take Gourcuff back from Bordeaux, we won't need any replacement as Emerson was simply useless in the team.

Anyway, if we're going to take someone to replace him, I'd rather a more attack-minded player, or more complete than Mikel or any other DM. Flamini, Gattuso and Ambro are enough for that position. We don't need another DM (because our management is going to be bashed from all parts on this forum if they bring another DM).

Why do we need a replacement for Emerson? What had he done over the past year besiding collecting a fat paycheque and sitting on the stand? NOTHING.

Glad is he is gone, and now the sinister six is down to the FAB FIVE with Dida, Kalac, Sheva, Senderous and Kaladze along with the Slowduo

Can't say I feel anything about Emerson's contract termination. I was hoping when he came we could get him back to some form so that he could come off the bench sometimes to kill off games, but ultimately it was a failure.

We don't really need a replacement, but mostly as the odd poster has suggested, if we do replace him then it should be with someone who adds a different dynamic to our squad.

Sheva and Senderos are not our players, so your Fab 5 couldn't become quickly a trio. Kaladze can still be useful, contrarly to what everyone here says, it's just he doesn't have to be a starter, but as a 3rd/4th choice for our defence, it's ok for me. Then about the last two players ...

With his late performances (in 2 years or so) and his wages, Kaladze is a big risk and waste. He does errors so often and this can't be accepted for our vice CB (the substitute if Silva or Nesta/new CB can't play) or even 4th starter. For 5th one should be then young CB.

I'd accept Kaladze if he took a major pay cut and accepted at the most 4th choice (I rate Bonera higher these days). As it's unlikely, he'll probably be best off elsewhere with us getting a cheap backup.

Must say this is probably the best news of this season. At the start, I was very much for Puma's signing---reminicing to his Roma and Juve days, but after seeing him a couple of times, it is obvious that he is way past it. If he can't keep up in a "slow" league like Serie A, his career in European football is just about over.

French clubs will welcome him ... the only problem is that he will probably refuse because of the low wages in France.
(the most paid player in France is Benzema with 4.8M per year, followed by Makelele with 4.6M and Juninho with 4.5M)

Yeah, he'll probably head back to Brazil and end his career there...
