i was unaware ronaldinho at 28 was old.

point is our best signings over last 6 years have NOT been stars.... both kaka and pato were great prospects but not star. Gourcuff another nonstar signing has shown every sign he will be a star. Going farther back, sheva wasnt a star, quaity and known yes... but not a star. Pirlo and gattuso were not stars when they come, just quaity prospects.

Its been the bigger name signings milan has made over the years who have generall flopped... rivaldo, ronaldinho, Rui costa

of course players like nesta and inzaghi r exceptions but milan needs to adopt a policy of signing quality younger players over proven vets or "names" players. but galliani is so concerned with image and marketing its ridiculous. I dont get it because this guy has ran our transfers esentially since the dutch trio of mvb, gullit, rijkaard and 1 really cant complain about milans signings overall over last 20 years. Milans policy has generally always been taking the star players from smaller leagues before they are known on the world stage and signing the best of italy...And this policy has always worked... we cant alays be aiming to take players from man utds or barcelona size clubs...

I agree, it only seems we differ in the "star" definition.
What I meant is that Milan should at least be present when "Diegos, Alonzos, Santacroces........" are mentioned.

Juve was also good in finding new players until calciopoli.
Sometimes Milan gets it right, sometimes Juve, sometimes neither
Zidane or Viera examples just show that one can never find a formula for ideal purchases....

Let's just think of some players - "stars": Van Basten, Inzaghi, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Nesta, Stam, Davids, Seedorf, Rui Costa, Zambrotta.....
Old stars: Emerson, Cafu, Ronaldo, Beckham, Rivaldo......
Future prospects : Kaka, Pato....

What I mean, you have to be watching all types of players, not just focus on the young ones. The other thing is that Milan now has become too old and so should refresh the team with young blood.

Hehehe...I also just read that.

I dont' watch him often and I read in other forum that he did bad against smaller team in some games. Many fans here talked about his excellent performances against big team or in big stage but is it possible that the tactic of Napoli against big team (Napoli probably played defensive tactic?) helped him much to show kind of that performance?

I've only really seen him have a bad period during the middle of this season, where he was out of the Napoli side for a week or two. However, that bad period generally coincided with when Napoli went into freefall and started losing every match, so clearly there was a bigger issue than Santacroce at play.

Besides that, I've never seen him really struggling, whether it be big sides or small. I think the reason it may seem he's better against big sides is he's thrown into the limelight when he does great against a top team, whilst doing the same job against a smaller side won't be picked up on as much.

Truth is, it's very difficult to find weaknesses in his game when watching him. He's got all the qualities to be a top player. The biggest weakness or criticism I can think of him is he needs to bring more discipline into his game (and possibly in his personality if rumours are to be believed). However, he's young and has time on his side, and to be playing at the level he does at his age is incredible, so much so that the last time I remember anyone coming through and playing with such quality at such a young age is when Nesta and Cannavaro were starting out.

I'm not usually one to rave on about a new defender looking like the next great star, but I'm convinced Santacroce will become a brilliant player unless something seriously goes wrong in his career.

What should Juve supporters do? If Molinaro was Milanista, all of us would support him. Did you hate Inzaghi or Seedorf when they played in rival clubs, and later you started to support them when they joined Milan......


You don't have to bash other fans, fans are all the same anyway.
Juve's supporters are just like Milan's, don't think that there's any difference.


My point was that all clubs sometimes miss on the players they get and sometimes it turns out great.....example: Kaka, Zidane

If they invest this money in a good way, now they will fight for Scudetto". Excuse me, but Juventus should be happy about their 3rd position in Serie A table. They have got: Buffon - Chiellini + some jerseys - Sissoko + some jerseys - injury prone Camoranesi, old Nedved, Sebastian "Ranieri doesn't trust on me" Giovinco - world class forwards.

Juventus isnt that bad IMO. they are having some very promising youngsters and with a few decent signings they can become great again!

amauri is so overrated and already 29. He did own milan though.....
