1st - Inter (78 points)
2nd - Milan (71 points)

3rd - Juventus (68 points) +1
4th - Fiorentina (67 points) +1
5th - Genoa (62 points) +1
6th - Roma (57 points) +1
7th - Palermo (55 points) +1
8th - Udinese (54 points) +1
9th - Cagliari (50 points) +1

Roma 4-3 Catania
Udinese 2-1 Milan
Juventus 2-2 Atalanta
Reggina 2-1 Cagliari
Genoa 2-2 Chievo
Palermo 2-0 Lazio
Fiorentina 1-0 Sampdoria

17/05/09 - 20:30
Inter (1st) - Sienna (14th)

We all thought we almost secured at least the 3rd place but finally, with Fiorentina coming back like a bullet and ending in great form (like last year), we could have a kind of finale to qualify directly to the next CL if we don't get a good result against Roma ...

It seems that the club has gone backwards this season by the re-enforcing same ideas that have failed for the past 2 seasons. Luckily Juve has slipped this season. If major changes do not happen (and they might not), I expect the next season to be worse than this one.

Well said Geo, it seems like if we don't beat Roma we'll have to fight our way to the third place in a direct encounter with Fiorentina in a away game.

This scenario should be avoided by all cost, we must beat Roma.

@boring,
I agree, this has to end this summer. If we continue like this it will be very sad to watch us get massacred in CL every week.

What a lousy effort!

We went into the game knowing 1) we could clinch a spot in the CL
2) we could at least keep Inter from clinching
the title this week
3) a win would be nice for the captain's 900th
game
Obviously not enough to motivate THIS team.
F_ck!

our midfeild made us suffer yday , we havent had any kind of possesion
i think flamini suffered from playing away from his position having played a couple of games as a right back
since our midfeild is suffering then our backs were not looking good , for example Zambrotta wasnt himself and also Senderos
also our attack wouldnt look good without getting the ball most of time and trying to build attacks
same problem that caused us to suffer against torino , palermo , juve first half of the season when flamini and ambrosini were prolly injured and gattuso was out for the rest of the season and we only had emerson
pirlo cant get the ball from opponents and ambrosini is only playing on the left so the right and the center of our midfeild is not well covered
Agreed, I think lack of consistency in Flamini's position is hampering his game. Few players can alternate between a couple of roles over the course of a season. Flamini's alternated between 3 and is having to change every couple of weeks.

At this point, considering our lousy performance yesterday, does Carlo even care anymore? The signals he's been sending out the past few weeks is that leaving is not out of the question.

This has always been our problem under Carlo. A series of brilliant performances and incredible results 4-0, 5-1, etc, followed by walking pace football and a boring draw or pathetic loss. THis is probably why we can never win the league, but end up having strong champions league runs. I think we ought to move on now, and if it means dumping some old stars (Seedorf, Pirlo, Jankulovski, etc), I am all for it at this stage.

Even though we were screwed by bad officiating, that doesn't cover up the fact that for being such an important game, our performance was so anemic. At least we would've made Inert sweat it out for 24 more hours had we put forth some kind of effort and won.

It's not just about winning or losing, it's about effort and hard work. Yesterday there was no effort from the team, even after going 2-0 down. There was no hard work to try and get into the match. Seedorf 2 years ago was getting praised because he was doing great things, but to do those great things he was making an effort that was appreciated. These days he waddles around the pitch acting as though he's some sort of God. Players deserve booing if they won't put in the workrate. Seedorf wouldn't be booed if he was giving it his all. That's why guys like Pippo or Maldini don't ever get booed, even if they are struggling.
Booing Seedorf doesn't do any good. He has been booed all season and Carlo hasn't changed anything. Only thing it does is destroy his, and the other players', spirits. It would be much better for the team, and much more sympathetic, to cheer for them in good times AND in bad times. Look at Gilardino, sure he wasn't the player we hoped for, BUT I can't help but feel that when he had hit bad form, one of the reasons it just got worse and worse, was because people booed him.

Secondly it's just not very classy to boo your own players. Would you boo Kaka if he started playing poorly in two years? Or would you have booed Maldini had he had a bad season? The fact is that, even though Seedorf is the worst player in the starting 11 at the moment, he still has done great things for us. He has been a true Milanista, and despite his poor season, when he leaves, I'll still remember him as a great player.

The difference between Seedorf and the others (Gila, Kaladze, etc) is that Seedorf can actually play much better than what he has shown until now (since he is too lazy to run) while the others have tried their best but their ability limited them to give the good performances. We can't cheer Seedorf every season right? It's since 2006/07, when he could only show some good-great perfomances.

There are acceptable bad times for players but not acceptable bad attitudes in games.

So why was Gila booed too ?
The crowd of San Siro isn't the best, they are excellent in CL (which shows a great image in Europe), but in Serie A, I don't know, there are far better crowds ... maybe it isn't the same fans who come in San Siro at tuesdays/wednesdays and week-ends ...

I don't know, maybe because of his bad performances or lacked of goals but again I forget if he was booed and what the reason was.

i see seedorf trying and running , his goal against juve proves it
he was on the same line like zambrotta and ran till he got the ball from maxi and scored
what is wrong abt seedorf as i see is that he cant go through one and two defenders , he cant do it anymore and he is suffering a bit at keeping the ball under his control under pressure but running i think he is running good according to how we knew him
i agree with Christian , booing a player affects his self confidence and i think it messes up with seedorf finishing like his lame shot against juve after a good work
last year gila and brocchi suffered from booing , they both tried and failed so i dont agree its abt a player being lazy , its a matter of love and hate and they clearly hate seedorf , maybe coz of ronaldinho
