Milan - Roma Post match comments

I figure this thread will be necessary after the performance and result today. I would rather Maldini's thread remain as a proper send off for the legend, and the rest of the players should be discussed here.

Dida was byfar the best player for Roma today.
His goalkeeping skills is beyond anything I had seen.
The way he positioned himself for those free kicks were text books materials for teaching young goalies.

All we needed was to hold onto a draw, and we would have been through to the CL. Now, we have to get a result against Fiorentina. If they beat us 2-0, we will be 4th.

A farcical adieu to Maldini.

Nevermind Maldini's final game to be a losing one, he's not a little kid, he can take it and it doesn't really matter anyway. It's just the statistics, who cares. But IMO he should've retired in the 2003.

Today I saw Milan as it was during the last couple of years - "Not the top Italian team".

What else is there to talk about? The whole football world knows that Milan needs to start a new cycle.

Barcelona won the league and is in the CL final with Guardiola, no reason why we can't succeed with Leonardo.

The team tried to give Maldini his proper farewell, they tried, have to give credit to them for trying...

They did? The only player that really appeared to want the match for the 96 minutes played was Maldini himself? The rest were pretty much walking around like last week until the 70th minute.

Then of course there's Carlo with his ingenious sub of taking Pato off rather than either Kaka or Pippo (my choice personally), neither of whom until that point had any effect on the game. Also him starting Janku ahead of Zambrotta, who didn't appear to have any physical problems.

I'm hoping I'm misunderstanding your post and you're being sarcastic, because frankly we were a ****ing joke and the only reason we scored 2 in this match was Roma weren't very impressive either.

When the manager doesn't care if the team wins or loses, why should the players. Its because of attitudes like this that the team is playing crap. Had we won the Juventus game and the subsequent two games after, we would be on 79pts, two behind Inter on the last day of the season. Its wishful thinking, but seeing the players not even try hurts.

It's not totally fair as Flamini ran a lot too (never helped on his right flank), Seedorf for once tried many things when he came on the pitch, Ambrosini tried too (even if he just showed how stupid he can be), and Pato tried too ...

Like the French commentators mentionned, it is maybe a message sent by Ancelotti to Berlusconi: they said that Berlusconi wanted at all cost Ronaldinho whereas Ancelotti didn't really want him at start, and Berlusconi almost never came watching the club playing, so like he was there, he maybe decided to put the best player out for Ronaldinho, just to show to Berlusconi it was a mistake ... it's of course, pure interpretation, but if Ancelotti leaves, I think it's a possible interpretation.

We havent solved out 3rd place and in last 3 games we won 1 point!

Carlo doesnt care and once again he showed his leadership is...I dont know, its sad to watch. Treating Pato like a boy and subjectively playing his lover Seedorf and some more players like Favalli ( who cant run more then 60min).

Seedorf has enough power for 25min of football, its disgusting now. He is a class player but its enough. Pirlo also showed once again he doesnt fight and doesnt sprint at all. Etc.,etc... Marek instead of Zambrotta then used sub on Zambro---->Marek is a joke. We again had no plan, no movement, nothing. And this Roma is actually in lousy shape.

Im really hoping this was the last game for Carlo, Seedorf and Favalli in Milan. Aldough Im not sure.

I will not comment Maldini on the same page with those people, its a shame to do that. We just showed we are FAR behind the team Milan needs to be.

disgusted! thats how i feel. my only hpe is that the two bald idiots who run the club both actually do something that just give out hot air. what a farce. we could, could have won the league this year if only we played 2 guys upfront and used our attackers. instead this stupid christmas tree rubbish. i am sorrry guys but we need to change a lot of players and kaka, as mush as i love him, if he does not want to put in the effort, let him. we have lost the hunger and players like pirlo (i blame him for the 2nd goal, along with dida) seedorf, favali, jankulovsci and dida need to go. i am so dissapointed today, its ruined my afternoon.

thanks maldini, legend!

It's head to head ...
It's probably because their tables are automatically updated, so the only way to class the teams is by points and then by goal-difference ...

I think that's not a fair interpretation ,GeoTav. I don't think Ancelotti will risk something so much at stake to show Berluscnoi that.

And Ancelotti, and in fact ANY coach, is a professional; they should not have put personal matters over business - in this case football.

Nuff said about the game in the chat. Overall we played OK in the second half, but we lacked passion.

We lack motivation; we lack the desire to play, to win. I feel like the team is ready for a break and start all over again.

Yet again...

There are some serious problems when a team has some important players who simply dont run. There is something wrong, its a tipical behaviour. Seeing Pirlo in front of Favalli and Maldini defending was like a suicide. Plus Dida on goal.

Well Mexes had a good game, maybe we'll see him in Milan
