Official: Yoann Gourcuff PERMANENT TRANSFER to Bordeaux

What Hasan said, many of us including me posted our disappointment about the clause when we first heard about it. This must the best day in Bordeaux's history, even if you don't rate Gourcuff much he has had a huge season.

This is just a disgrace ... A young, talented player, who will be one of the best midfielders in Europe in the future, is gone to Bordeaux ... What the hell is our board doing ? They are interested in the 32-year old Toni, who plays like a statue this season, but they give the best player of the French competition away ... Grazie Mille !

Gourcuff is gone, but all is not lost for this team. In Pato, Kaka and Flamini we have the spine of the team,
but for the love of God please sign some world class defenders and lose the clowns. 4 years ago we had Nesta,
Stam and Maldini, all we are left with now is a questionable Nesta.

I don't know if Juve would put the same clause to their promising players. But we did and do, like also to Aubameyang for next season if I am not wrong.

yeah we will sign him again after 2years for no more than 30-40mil

Pinning Gour's departure on Carlo is ridiculous. All I'm reading everywhere is "Oh, we let our next #10 go" and related claptrap. Why is everyone so sure that he was going to light it up over here had he returned? Has it ever occurred to anyone that maybe Gour wasn't ever meant for the defensive grind of Serie A?

Oliveira got more than his share of playing time and he sucked, because he clearly showed he was more suited for the Spanish game.

Our management does alot of questionable things, but when it comes to the Gourcuff-case I don't blame them at all. It's really easy to say now that it was stupid to put in a buyout clause in the loan deal, but for those of us who actually remember how the situation was before this season, I doubt anyone would pay more than £3-5m for him. Most of the fans I talked to was actually happy he was loaned out, cause he seemed really lost when he played for us, and he didn't seem to fit into the Italian game. Giving him some time back in France to try and find back to the place he was before he came to us, and I don't think any of us would imagine he would do that in 1 single season, and at least not actually develop into an even better player this fast!

The fact is that not many players in ligue 1 is worth £15m+, only the top few players like Benzema etc. I don't think even Bordeaux expected Yoann to take a leap straight up to the top like this, and to blame the management for not expecting something highly unlikely like that is silly. The realistic thing would be to think he at least needed 2 seasons to become such a player (if ever, it's not like it was a given he would become this good), and this buyout-clause expires this weekend.

No matter, the prime focus here is actually what the player wants. Gourcuff didn't want to come back to us at this point, he wanted to stay with Bordeaux, and when that's the case there's nothing our management can do. £15m is regardless at the absolute peak of what a french side (maybe except Lyon) can pay for a player, so let's say there was no buyout-clause and Gourcuff tells Galliani that he wants to stay and play for Bordeaux in the future. What should he do? Tell him "no, you will come back to us and play with us and be unhappy" or "no, you will get sold to the highest bidder. And you better sign the contract they offer or you'll be sorry!"? It doesn't work like that, and if Yoann made up his mind then Milan has a policy of not forcing players to stay in the club, and that's the only sensible and morally correct policy.

And just cause you read in the media that Gourcuff didn't want to come back to us just cause Ancelotti was there, or that we couldn't guarantee him a first team spot (which no one in Milan is guaranteed, not even Kaka'), doesn't mean it's true. There might be a whole mix of reasons he didn't want to return. Maybe he never really felt comfortable living in Italy, maybe he had a hard time connecting to the team, maybe he never really understood the way we play football in this club or grasp the tactical decisions he was put in? He wouldn't be the first player to leave Serie A because of these reasons, and he wouldn't be the last.

Now all we can do is wish Yoann good luck in securing the league title in the last match (need 1p I believe), and continued success. Maybe he wants to try moving abroad again when he's older, when he's a more mature person. I know I would find it hard to move to a completely different country when I was 22-23.

Why so hard on Gorky, Dida flopped all the time and yet he kept starting in previous years despite his many many MANY debacles in (and actually out of) goal.

Slowdorf keeps getting a starting slot, despite playing poorly.

etc.. etc.. I would rather give Gourcuff another shot than keep overpaying and overplaying poor performers.

Heck, even Flamini didn't get as much of a shot as he should have until we needed him at RB and he did well.

^^ Because Gourcuff was apparently expected to produce 20 goals and assists per season while our superstars are rated on a separate scale and can get by on sideways and backwards passes. Then people say we midfield is our strength...lol. Poor kid, he's an upgrade on anything we currently have but there's no use crying over spilt milk as they say. I wish him the best as always.
