Carlo Ancellotti Strengths & Weaknesses

I think he's similar to del bosque, very good at keeping a harmonious dressing room. We were rock solid as a unit while he was here. he understands his players, where they should play, their strengths and weaknesses. I feel his approach to tactics was very much based on assigning jobs and responsibilites to players rather than creating patterns and systems in a wider positional sense. his tactics have been pushed on him a bit too, berlu wanted certain things and what berlu wants, unfortunatly, berlu gets.

his weaknesses were probably his inability to get a squad rotation system to work. Bench players were often left to rot unless they forced themselves into the team by taking the very limited chances that were offered. creates good competition, but we're talking giving players 15 mins at the end of a game every few weeks.

his transfer policy was also confused, and while again his hand was forced often, I do believe given that past managers have seemed to build teams in their vision which is something carlo never did. Our transfer policy consisted of bringing in young talent our scouts picked up and thought we should buy (good, but then go back to the limited chances factor and you'll see this didn't work out as well as it could have) and picking up flagging stars that were cheaply available and would appeal on an image basis.

I do not know if he instigated the signing of ronaldinho, ronaldo, beckham, rivaldo and the like, but either way it lacks vision, he could not see the players he needed to create his own team and so choices were forced on him, or he could not see beyond glitzy names and thought they would magically fit in rather identifying desired trates and searching for them. you know Ferguson has ideas of who he wants and finds them.

so yeah, his man management will suit Chelsea providing the language barrier is not an issue, but how your millions are spent, given you too have a big headed money bags for an owner I don't know.
