I have to agree. Because of the amount people know we'd get for Kaka, they'll be asking crazy large transfer fees just so we can buy our replacements, and we'll have to fork it over simply because Management will be desperate to get these replacements and not look like fools (which they actually are, but just don't want to admit it).

If I remember correctly...... when Sheva left, his replacement Olivera (stupid flop) came to us for......... 15 Million Euros, simply because it was the last day of the transfer market, and no one wanted to come replace the Arrow :P

we won't spend that sort of money on one player.

and if we do it's ridiculous. why sell your best player, who would have happily stayed, to replace him with another player who costs loads but might not turn out as good.

and I'm not sure Dzeko is worth it, can anyone name any striker over the last 3 or 4 years that they would have been happy with had Kaka left. Maaaaybe fernando torres, that guy we already dropped the ball on after trailing him for about 4 years and building significant relationships with athletico, but no one else.

lets all remember lazio who thought they could get away selling veron and nedved and replace them with like for likes in the price department in fiori and mendieta. saw the end of the club as a force.

That too Ryo, and yes if management do want to actually spend it you are right.

In principle you are right meazza, if we are to spend comparable amounts it doesn't make sense anyway. Now I know some may say with that money we can fix more than one position but losing Kaka in the way we seem to be doing will damage the club more than what can be done with the positional fixes.

In all honesty I would not pay 30 mil for Dzeko. He has not proven him self on the big stage. Dont get me wrong, I know Edin well, he is a good player, but as a fan of Milan I Would not want Milan to pay more the 18 mil.

I mean Dzeko left FK Zeljeznicar for 50.000 euros for Teplice, then from Teplice he went to Wolfsburg for 4 mil. Look at him now I hope he comes to Milan

If I am not mistaken, it was the picture after the game Milan - Wolfsburg (or vice versa) in the UEFA Cup season 2008/09.

ouch 30 million euro for dzeko now i know arsenal would never spend that type of cash we have to be competing with a bigger club maybe if arsenal were to sell adebayor, i wish wenger was the new manager

O yeah its the game against Wolfsburg, Sheva gave him the jersey. Sheva is Dzeko's idol. I have few pics from this game of Misimovic and Dzeko.

Every interview Dzeko gave so far and was asked what club he wanted to play, he said AC Milan, and that he is a big fan of AC Milan, and ofcourse Sheva.

Well according to the article Hasan posted it's more like 15 M euro's. Anyways, I think the press is just throwing out numbers at the moment, but 30 M euro's sounds a bit of, considering the player himself wants to go to Milan.
