I know this isn't the right place for this discussion, but Villa has outperformed 'Nando' in pretty much any way possible - including Spain's game yesterday. He scores more goals and is better technically.
EDIT: A Mancunian who likes Torres, what's up with that? ![]() Last edited by Ceceves; 10-06-2009 at 16:40. |

the city may own the san siro but the fee paid to the city is less than 3 millions euros according to certain sources. The issue how stadiums earn through corporate facilities food retail merchandise retail charity events sponsors more affiliate consumers, efficiency saving. It pretty simple and breaks down like this emirates revenue per year 130 million euros, old trafford 120 million euros pa, alliance arena 125 million euros pa you begin to get the picture even renovated stadiums get a new economic lease of life like the El Bernabéu earning a average of 80 millions pa. back in 1992 the san siro would earn 116,176,200,000 pa lira the equivalent of 60 million euros result based on the recent update of the San Siro. this situation needs to be resolved if Milan do sell a stake in the company to the Arabian consortium the cash should be use either to update the san siro and buy from the city or build a new stadium. if Milan were invest 100 million into updating the san siro it would produce a average of 50 million euros of stadium revenue pa, now if milan were to spend that money on a new stadium if would probably produce 65,000 euros pa. the question is what is better for Milan stick by our value and traditions and rebuild the san siro inside out or go for a long term option and build a stadium which will last the next 50 years and will earn Milan 90 million upwards pa

for me Torres is the best striker in the world!!
but the most talented one is Benzema IMO, this kid has it all, he will be the best striker in the world in a few years, too bad he is too expensive! |

But if Pirlo does leave for Chelsea, it opens up a lot of possibilities. It should be an interesting summer.

De Rossi wont ever sign for milan, he loves Roma and is one of their key players, he'll stay just like totti. Also Aquilani is almost impossible i think, Roma would ask a ridiculous amount of money for him as he will be a key player for them in the future.
but there's also Cigarini and D'Agostino, why cant galliani and co look in serie a (italian) talent! we're only linked with foreigners. I remember galliani stating he was so proud we had so many italians in our team and taht inter had none. well this could change quickly as we have 0 young talented italian players... thats sad for a team like milan. Thats why I really want signings like Marchetti, Santacroce, De Silvestri, Cigarini, D'Agostino, G.ROSSI!!!, Cassano, Bocchetti, Foggia... just to name a few. EDIT: well maybe we'll get luca Toni ![]() Last edited by Filipéz 182; 10-06-2009 at 16:51. |

This may sound a little nuts, but just throwing it out there.
Real Madrid are after David Villa, but Valencia president says their bid is too low. Why don't we bid for him. Villa is definitely worth it. If the Dzeko doesn't work out, why don't we put 40 million on the table? But I have a feeling he won't leave Spain. I rarely say this, but we need a BIG signing this summer. The players are not impressed right now. Last edited by Hasan Rossonero; 10-06-2009 at 16:54. |

I personally do not believe for a second all this crap about the economic crisis affecting the club. For one thing, the global economic atmosphere is bad all around the world right now, which means every club should be effected by it, not just Milan. If every other club found a way to live with it, then why does Milan have to sell its best player to balance the books? If Berlusconi has some level of dignity left, he'd just come out and tell everyone the truth that Milan simply isn't interested in competing at the highest level any more and wants to be a mid table team from now on. As much as it would hurt, Milan fans will live through it.
In the extremely unlikey event that this team is still looking to start a new cycle back to the top, I think there are two names up front they have to consider, Aguero and Benzema. To me, this is the perfect opportunity to sign both of these players as neither one of them has had that terrific of a season. Their subpar performance gives teams the opportunity to buy low. Let's face it, as nice as Dzeko might be, Benzema is the one with the superstar potential and Aguero is a talent on the same level as Pato. With Benzema up front, we can play Pato and Aguero behind him as supporting strikers and leave Ronaldinho on the bench until he gets in shape. Now that is an attacking trio that is capable of replacing Kaka and Gourcuff's departures. If we miss out on these two players this time, there might not be another chance to sign them for an even remotely reasonable fee for the next 10-15 years if ever. |

Filipez, I know De Rossi will probably not leave. It was just a dream as I said. However having said that, you never know. Nesta left Lazio because Lazio was on the verge of bankrupt. I know Roma's situation is not as bad as a club, but their parent company 'Italpetroli' is. Rosella can not reinforce their squad the way it needs to be done and they will soon fight for 4th place and pray that they make it in the CL so they can turn over a bigger amount of money. This year they missed out on it and it'll hurt them bad. I can imagine that their situation will be twice as bad next year if they miss out on it again, as meanwhile teams like Fiorentina are investing and getting better. Also, without the finances they don't look like they will challenge for much in the future unless Sensi sells the club. Even Totti admitted that he thought hard about leaving some years ago, because he wanted to win something and content the Ballon D'or. There isn't a doubt that De Rossi will be tempted too if Roma keep disappointing and Rosella keeps getting further in debt. Is he going to be able to beat the temptations?
Aquilani is a different case in my opinion. He was going to leave this summer if Roma didn't offer him a new deal I think. About D'Agostino. A couple of months ago I brought it up and said that he was one of the best CM in Italy this season. He was the reason of Udinese's success in the first half of the season and pulled all the strings in their midfield (even though he got a lot of help from Inler/Isla). We should have acted on that much sooner, but now he seems gone to Juve. Cigarini is great too......but he also, has gone to Napoli. Unfortunately we were late in both cases and they are both great players. I would be ecstatic if we hijack Juve's deal for D'Agostino now. He'll be a great lift for our midfield next year.

1) He's too similar to Pato, if we're gonna sign another striker (as it seems we are) it would make sense to go for someone like Dzeko. Pato+Villa (+Dinho) could be beautiful, though. 2) He'd be really expensive, and we need to spend money on several positions this summer which probably means that we aren't going to sign superstars. 3) As you said, he definately prefers to play in Spain, so Barca and Madrid are the likely takers for him. A shame that he can't remain at Valencia (due to their crisis, which - unlike ours - is for real), as the duopoly in Spain will strengthen. (The last one isn't really a reason why shouldn't sign him, but a reason why we won't) |

I also don't think it would be wise to spend most of what Milan got for Kaka on one player. What, then, would have been the point of selling him? Reportedly (grain of salt time again) Chelsea offered £38million for him. Even if he would come, that's too much to pay for one player. I think it's better to take this as an opportunity to re-energize an aging squad with several young, dynamic players who can be the future of Milan. Dzeko would be a great start (although I would hope he could come a little cheaper than the news reports).

I don't think we should get David Villa, or any Spanish player for that matter.
It seems that very rarely do players from Spain and Italy change clubs, and they usually fail to live up to the hype when they make the switch. I think we should all get over the fact that Ronaldinho will be the star of Milan next season. It seems that is quite assured, it seems that Dinho knows this to be true and it seems that Leonardo doesn't have the strength or confidence to set his own agenda. I think the team is going to look like this: ---------------Abbiati/Dida --Oddo--Nesta/Bonera--Thiago--Zambro ----------Gattuso---Pirlo----Flamini --------------------Dinho ----------Dzeko-------------Pato If you think about it, a midfield three of Gattuso, Pirlo and Flamini/Ambro is the only way that you can accommodate players like Pato and Dinho, who have a rather poor defensive work-rate. I'm not sure about Dzeko, but, the reason why Barca's system works is that Henry, Eto'o and Messi are running to recover the ball once they lose it. I'm scared nothing will happen to our center, Bonera and Kaladze will cover Nesta and Thiago, while I get this feeling that Favalli will stay. Or am I wrong about Favalli staying? |

Dzeko+Hernanes could be great signings for Milan including Thiago Silva and one very good CB (I hope). If we sell Pirlo, we should buy Fabregas since the money should be actually avaialable except the management use the money for paying the debt which is not a smart move IMO (solving a problem with the easiest way without preventing the bad effects in the coming years/future, a sinking Milan). |
