Even if we had sold Kaka first, we would have sold Gourcuff as long as Bordeaux wanted him and paid the already arranged fee. In essence we relinquished control last year and the only way he'd be back is if Bordeaux didn't buy, it's not as if they deliberately sold him after he had a good year.

I really don't know why people act like Gourcuff is already the next Maradona or Zidane and he would have been the missing piece at Milan. He has yet to prove himself at the top level, and for all the potential he has, he needs to reach it to prove people wrong.

The deal was done ages ago, we need to move on.
The only thing that eats me about Gorky is that 15 mil buyout clause that Milan put in the loan deal.
He already proved himself during this season, he's a French National player.
Everybody knew he had the talent even during his "spell" at Milan but good coaches make talented players WC and Milan staff has the reputation about keeping their players happy, they're a family....., which Milan wasn't able to do in the Gorky matter.....enough said about the famous Milan staff.

They also let Zidane slip through their fingers 'cause he wasn't fast enough, yet Dugarry seemed perfect for them...enough said.

One member also has a good sig: "we didn't pursue with Figo deal but we've got better player who is much faster - BA"....enough said.

Gorky may have turned out to be a non worthy of Milan but this would be acceptable only if he played the entire season, peanuts minutes show nothing

Cissokho is a very imporant signing which gives me hopes for the future.Galliani signed the best option and most expensive option when there was cheap alternatives like Dossena,Grosso and Pasqual.juve is trying for them, considering we have better wing backs than theirs,Galiani aimed high and signed the best LB on the market though we dont have much problem on wing backs compared to other positions.but yet Galliani can spend 15m euros for Cissokho and it gives so much hope to me for the future.

Translated to REAL words that means: Milan will invest in players that do not cost more then 20mln and we'll do so by not spending a penny that we cant get back to Berlusconi. Next move needs to be Wenger then.
you missed some part,he also said that with balanced budget.

The clause was in the contract before he had this good season at Bordeaux.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, yet doesn't change anything that has already happened!

You miss understood me unfortunately, I know that clause was there before but it shouldn't have been IMHO.
Of course, we are all different and some of us like certain players, some of us don't.
But to say Gorky was given a chance is absurd.

What I want to say in the end - Don't have to defend the management all the time, but also, don't have to attack them.
People tend to say Milan has the best this, the best that, the best transfer policy and players management, but I beg to differ - Milan has had both good and bad judgments in it's last decade or so.

Just a few points:

1. Gourcuff had not proven himself in any way, shape or form prior to the loan deal and the inclusion of the option to buy. He still hasn't proven himself at the Serie A level.

2. Gourcuff had every opportunity to prove himself during his first season in Milan. He started 18 games and subbed in 15. That's hardly "peanut minutes."

3. Gourcuff is not, never was and never will be Zidane.

4. Milan won more Champions League titles without Zidane than Juventus and Real Madrid won -- combined -- with him. In fact, Juve's last Champions League title came just before they acquired Zidane. They never won one with him.

So I wouldn't sweat it too much.

He was given chances, just not a good solid run which some players need, and he had the unfortunate position of being in the same team as Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka... 3 players who like to keep the ball. Gourcuff is a player needs the ball to do his work and he also needs to be a centrepiece to play well.

I do agree with your opinion on judgements though, very good words.

@Rick my friend
This is all true and I don't want to sound like I'm only focused on Gorky.

But what does Milan look like at this moment? Selling their best player, another player that couldn't perform in Serie A now suddenly is good enough for the French National team?
What's next? We buy Cissokho and Hernanes, they turn up to be great and we sell them

This is out of the context but I bet that's somethin similar to what Milan staff said about Zidane: "He is not and never will be Marco Van Basten"

First of all, Gourcuff has always been a talented player, Galli was really stupid in putting in the clause, I am pretty sure at that time Galli thought Gourcuff was not worth 15mil, so why not put that amount as 30mil or 40mil.
Secondly, I thought Gourcuff had a pretty solid first season in Milan considering who was starting with him during those games. Then he got injured in his second season and never even make the bench.
Thirdly, I don't think Gourcuff is at ZZ's level yet but he has what it takes to surpass him. When ZZ was 23 or 24, he was not nearly as good as Gourcuff now.
Lastly, looking back, Milan might have won more CL than Juve and Real, but how many League titles had Milan won and if Milan did signed ZZ back than, Milan might have win more than the two they had. Once again, thats if this and if that. ANd you really can't judge ZZ by how many CL won, if thats the case, Seedorf must be a better player than Kaka, Dinho, ZZ, FIgo and others, as he won 4 CL titles. Well, maybe thats why Milan is keeping him.

selling Kaka may of proved a necessity selling Gourcuff was just a tragedy, We did lose a promising player that could be the new zidane or kaka. The thing to remember is would Gourcuff have been successful at Milan with this style of play and what guarantee did we have that Gourcuff won't get injured or have another drop in form. Depending on who Milan buys we could have bought another player with similar qualities and would be able to exploit their skill and technique at Milan. I don't think the same problem would arise under Leonardo, Ancelotti had so many great qualities but some weren't suitable for team such loyalty to seedorf and playing a set formation not adapting the team to incorporate some of the newer players. I would angry if Milan do the same in future but we at the point were we have to forget mistakes and move on.

Agreed 100%..well put
And people, I hope nobody get's angry or anything, we're just exchanging opinions and we all want what's best for Milan

Brk, man, how can you say the club is heading in the great direction after what they did in past weeks? They bought you with one signing? If we sign lets say CF, Cm and CB we can say we did well to cash in the money from Kaka'. To to say we are doing great coz we are spending money from one of the top 3 players in the world we sold is not ok, in my oppinion.

I would also say its a good thing Lao seems to pick his own players, coz he knows to do that well.

Also, I would add some things in this short Yoan chat: Carlo wasnt Milan's coach when Galliani&LEO went there to talk to the man. Aftervards Galliani said Milan couldnt promise him first 11 and he didnt want to go back. MEanwhile Galliani already had a deal with Perez... to me its simply idiotic move by Galliani. But lets leave it. Some say he will not make it, I say he will. We'll see. People say: " he is not Zizzou!" No he is not, he will never be. But he an excellent polivalent player we threw away for small money whoch someone will pocket. Oh yes....balance the books...

The transfer window is not over yet, mrki. If it is so, then I am prepared to say "WE DID WELL" at the end of this summer mercato because I'm sure and I truly hope that we will sign Dzeko, Hernanes, and Mexes. And if I'm wrong then it's no harm for me. In exchange, I am also prepared to curse the management if we only bought one Cissokho at this mercato.

I won't blame anyone who criticized the management here, it's justified to do so, but my point is there are better things to be thought and to be done. Keep optimistic.

You all can beat me up all you want on this comment, but I would rather have a Cissokho, Mexes, Dzeko, and young midfielder summer instead of keeping Kaka and signing no one else.

We all worried that Milan would not re-invest and look what they've started already. They went out and got the best, young LB out there... For a couple of years now i've been screaming for a younger, faster, fluid team. If it comes to the expense of Kaka, than so be it.

For all of you who are pissed about Kaka leaving, do some research online. There are several sources out there saying that RM dished the money with a HUGE concern for his health and his foot injury. I'd rather have 4 young players than one who may sit for a few months again....

To me, Cissokho is a better buy than Grosso. On top of that 15mil might seems to be alot but remember that he is earning 1mil a season for 5 yrs. If Milan signed someone like Grosso, the transfer fee might be 5mil or so, but Grosso will demand 4 mil a year for 3 yrs.

15+(1mil sal+1mil tax)*5=25mil
5+(4+4)*3=29mil

I know the tax is 43% but it is easier to show my point using 50% tax.
