my guess would be we wouldn't even buy Dzeko this season, he's too expensive anyway...we've got like 5~10mil to spare?

I bet we'll just get Toni, old and cheap....

See how Galliani twists his words? when we bought Cissokho, he said our target is another CB and Striker.
Today, he jus mentions our objective is a Striker.

For his sake pato should go. We're not a top club atm. With him, carlo $heva and maldini at chelsea they actually feel like the club i support.

I don't know why some of you are so upset? The Cissokho deal fell through---so what? It wasn't like we missed out on a Roberto Carlos (in his prime, of course). So, now we focus on a targetman---if not Dzeko, then Galliani has said someone else would arrive.

Now in the case of wingbacks, it is OBVIOUS that we are looking for a new left-back, else we wouldn't be spending 15M on Cissokho, but the last thing we should be doing now is running to other clubs and making a panic buy ala Oliveira. So of course our Baldy is going to lie and tell everyone how little we need a left back and how our squad is perfect and how we would be happy to take a left back off someone's wage bill if they give us a fair price. Believe me, a new left back will come if we can find someone appropriate. If not, I still don't think it's the end of the world---with Oddo back, we have Janku/Zambro who can cover the left and Antonini/Oddo for the right. I know it's not the best solution, but really these guys are not inexperienced scrubs, they should be a reliable option.

As for Rossi, Galliani does have a point. Where is he going to play?? We have R80 as our trequartista, Pato as the second forward, and Dzeko as our targetman (hopefully). SO where will you play Rossi? OR will you bench Pato, or R80?

lol the daily mail you can't seriously believe anything sourced from the daily mail come on the standard headline is asylum seekers steals pensioners money and rape our women and children this paper is the joke of the UK. even goal.crap hasn't reported on this apparent statement. In addition Pato is in South Africa the sports correspondent for the daily mail only really goes to France or Spain and the mail itself only has foreign correspondents in North America and Europe.

I agree, our squad is absurd and not appropriate regarding CL and the struggle for Scudetto, in particular as there is still no replacement for Kaka. Do they really think Ronaldinho - who was one of last season's biggest disappointment! - can take his role? We need to refresh the defence and our midfield. Though Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambro, Seedorf, of course, are great players but are Milan players for 10 years, we need a refreshment.

Euro League, here we come!

Have you seen him play? We haven't had this kind of player since Serginho and he runs more than him and is as fast as him. We desperately need a player who can run like mad for 90 min just like Gattuso. There is no better left back out there for 15 million and he can play on the right side also. I finally regain hope that the management is starting to invest in Milan with his buy but i guess it was just wishful thinking. I know that Galliani lies always and i don't believe him saying that if Cissokho doesn't come we are fine as we are, then why the f@ck do you buy him in the first place if we are fine. How can he lie like that is beyond me, doesn't he have some shame in him for gods sake.

What we cant have a competative bench?

Ineter has: Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Milito, Balotelli, Obinna, then as AM Jimenez, Stankovic, Mancini, Quaresma...

Can't believe Galliani doesn't want to sign any more full-backs because we failed at one transfer!

A SQUAD, MANY CHAMPIONS
6/19/2009 12:18:00 PM
The cissokho negotiation is over. There's no agreement between Milan and Porto. Dzeko: the player will say what he wants to do. Pirlo: no offer and if it should arrive, it will be refused. This is what Adriano Galliani said today.

MILAN - These are the declarations of Adriano Galliani from this morning, just before entering the Lega Calcio. The first words were about Aly Cissokho: "The negotiation is over. We did not reach an economic agreement with Porto, neither for the loan transfer with the buy option nor for a reduction of the price considering the problems. We tried to negotiate for a day and a half, but we did not reach an agreement, even though there was the will of Porto to do some things and our will to do other things. An alternative? No, I think that we have many full-backs and we keep our players. We have Zambrotta, Oddo, Jankulovski, Antonini, we also have Bonera who can play as a full-back and Flamini too. We're covered. We have a great squad, we have many champions in our team."

Then the questions went on Edin Dzeko: "Dzeko," replied Adriano Galliani, "Is a great attacker, but Wolfsburg do not want to sell him, for the time being the German club is not giving up on him. We hope to manage with him, otherwise we shall try for someone else. Dzeko is a player who Wolfsburg want to hold on to, but then it will be the player who wil lsay what he wants to do. It's difficult for everyone to hold on to a player who is not happy. It's a rule which is valid for everyone, it's the market. However, a striker will arrive. Still, we have great champions in our squad. We have Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Pato, Ronaldinho, Inzaghi, the defenders. Once Kaka left, an attacker will arrive, but our squad is full of champions. we remind you that we are not coming from a negative season, we finished second on level points with Juventus. For the Italian rules we finished third, but if we were in Germany, England or France, where the goal difference is important, we would be second."

The other topics, Galliani again: "Pirlo? We did not receive any offer and if we do we shall refuse it. We continue to think, to believe, that we have a team with many champions. Ambrosini? Slowly, we shall do it. Now for next season there is the contract, then we'll see. We cannot always says yes to everything. We must negotiate and work, little by little everything will be settled. The declarations of Giuseppe Rossi? They please us a lot, he is a very good attacker, but we already have two forwards like Ronaldinho and Pato and right now we are searching fir what we used to call before the classic striker. Pato? He's young, but he has proven to be a great champion. In our opinion Pato, plus a striker and Ronaldinho is a great attack. We also have Inzaghi and Borriello, let's not forget it. After all, our new coach wants to play with the 4-3-3, a tactic which I enjoy a lot. Ronaldinho? He was there already, he's there, we aim on him for next season and he will do well, but Kaka's substitute will be an attacker who will arrive."

The final part is about the young players: "We have many young players. We are meeting various clubs and by next Friday a decision will be taken. We have Astori at Cagliari, Preticone at Livorno, Abate with Torino and Di Gennaro at Genoa. Some of these young players could return in our squad, surely."
