I read it here a few days back that Berlusconi actually never was a Milan fan but rather an Inter fan. If that is true, then I am afraid we are screwed.

Berlusconi at this stage no longer cares about his image or anyting for that matter. He is already 72 years old, which means there won't be another term in the office no matter what. As a man who is a couple years away from retiring, he flat out does not care about what the people think about him. That is why I believe he is going to stay until he extracts every single penny he can out of Milan and then sell the team to begin his retirement. Afterall, he doesn't care if the team does go down since his kids have no interest in it anyway.
Hang on, Berlusconi is a secret Inter fan! No wonder....

Ok, I also share your opinion, but Berlusconi/Galliani duo seemed lost their touch. As business man, Burlusconi would get a better deal for the club selling it as a winner, a champion club, a glorious club.
Milan has had 3 consecutive disappoint season, and 5 consecutive disappoint transfer season. Berlusconi, Galliani and Milan had lost a lot of credibility and status.
A multi-bilionaire sheik dont buy a football club for good business. They buy it for status. Imagine multibillionaries talking advatage over each other; all have all Ferraris and all Lambos avaliable, but one have Manchester City and the other have MILAN!!!!

What most disapoints me now is Milan is being treated like a ordinare club, wanna be stars snubs Milan, real stars dont even think to come to Milan anymore and all other club make jokes of us being a retirement home.

I feel Galliani has nothing to do with it. Berlsuconi instructs him to buy players with limited budget, he does the shifty negotiating to get them at the cheapest price. The problem is, Berlsuconi is too old and stuck in the glorious past, and Galliani is simply obeying his master. The patron nees to change!
Berlusconi thinks he can get champions for a cut-price, and when he can't, he gets former champions!

True, but teams such as Manchester United and Barca are seen as true greats due to their domestic and Champions league form. I know it is a big ask, and won't happen in a long time for Milan, but we should atleast challenge harder for the scudetto whilst the Champions League trphy is out of our reach.

Ok lets make 2 disappointing seasons.
I believe we cant tell we have a good season this year, we´re knock out very early in Coppa and the 3rd is the worst place I expect from Milan every season.
I cant swallow Fiorentina or Lazio ahead of Milan, come on, so 3rd place is disapointing.

To me, the duo didn't lost their touch but rather they never had any great touch to begin with. For all the great players they signed in the past, they only got them because they signed over the biggest check. They got the players because they paid more than anyone else would and that was their philosophy. As the budget decreases, they are finding it more and more difficult to bring in any decent player at all because they can no longer outbid anyone else. They screwed over Inter and Santos with Pirlo, Seedorf and Kaka, and then glowed about it. Now those two teams won't even talk to Galliani about giving any discount on players any more.

Milan's history will always remains even if the team has struggled for a few years. That is why it is attractive for other investors. Some of the billionaires might even see it as a more interesting and challenging project to bring Milan back to the top. Even if Milan drops to Serie B, its history still ensures that it will sell for a high price and is still considered a more prestigeous team than Man City. And that is what Berlusconi is banking on, the reputation of the team rather than its performances.

Okay,we have heard the rumours, are here are allegedly some comments from "the Duck" himself regardinga potential Chelsea interest:

AC Milan Prodigy Pato ‘Seriously’ Interested In Chelsea Move
The young Brazilian has dropped a bombshell after revealing that he would consider a move to Stamford Bridge…
20 Jun 2009 00:57:17

AC Milan wunderkind, Alexandre Pato recently reaffirmed his commitment to the Rossoneri after he pledged to remain true to his current contract.

But the 19-year-old appears to have made a sudden U-turn as he dropped a massive hint to Chelsea, asking Roman Abramovich and Co. to come get him so that he can be reunited with his former coach, Carlo Ancelotti.

“Ancelotti is very important to me,” he was quoted as saying by Setanta Sports. “He was the one who wanted me in Milan and he gave me the chance to grow as a player.

“I have a contract with Milan, but I would be seriously interested if Chelsea called me,” he added.

Ever since the arrival of Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge as the Blues’ new coach, Pato has been constantly linked with a switch to west London to join up with his mentor. But Milan vice-president, Adriano Galliani, having just lost Kaka, has so far fervently refused to consider the ex-Internacional teenager for sale.

Reports also emerged yesterday that midfield hardman, Gennaro Gattuso is open to a move to Chelsea.

KS Leong, Goal.com

If Pato leaves this Summer, Dzeko would be less useful to the team, unless we sell Boriello. We can't have two strikers of that stature playing up front. Also, Pippo cannot be expected to play all season.
We should have enough money from this transfer (if it happens) for a speedy, skillful striker, or if Berlusconi makes a run wiht the money, we should bring back Palaoschi. Then again, it is highly unlikely that Pat will leave, atleast this season....

Some interesting news.....

Roma Monitoring Andriy Shevchenko Situation – Report
The Giallorossi have, once again, laid eyes on 'Sheva' according to reports...
19 Jun 2009 09:10:34

Roma are keeping tabs on Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko with a view to signing him, but the move could depend on Mirko Vucinic's future at the Italian club, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Giallorossi were interested in the player last year but he moved to Milan on loan, where he spent much of the season on the bench. The Ukrainian is set to return to the Blues this summer but it is unlikely that he will play a big part in Carlo Ancelotti's plans.

The report suggests Shevchenko is wanted by Roma coach Luciano Spalletti. However, the move could hinge on what happens with Vucinic. The Montenegrin has been linked with Manchester United and it is said Roma would be keen to receive a €20 million bid for the hitman.

Roma are looking for some financial stability, and in order to earn this, players could leave. 'Sheva' may well be the ideal replacement for Vucinic if United manage to lure him away from the capital.

Seemingly contrary to the reports, Vucinic recently signed a four year extension with the Giallorossi, suggesting the club are keen to keep him for the future.

Just about a month back ppl would say AS and Marca are pathetic sources, but they ended up getting it right this just time around..

As i said,if it was true...!! but then again he had already spoke about this once and the management came hard at him..There is no smoke without fire, its also in the dailymail i beleive..I can't guarantee this is true but i'm glad we came to know his true colours..what pisses me more is real merda has been pathetic for many years yet players want to be part of that circus and hesitate to be part of our transition period...

The only reason why aguerro isn't in the papers all the time is simply because Athletico didn't sell off their best player and no one thinks theiy're in crisis.

Come on guys, we're being picked on simply because of stupid moves in the market made by our management, its simple as that. The English papers all hate us, simply because they think we're a $hit league. They can't say much about the Spanish league because they're current Champions League holders and European Champions. I do remember that aside from the Spanish papers, no one was talking crap about us when we won the World Cup and the Champions League within 12 months of each other.

Seriously people, they're just picking on the weakest victim and hiding behind their "I'm a newspaper, you can't sue me" attitude. Stuff like this would never be tolerated in the US because the rich people would sue them for slander. Not so for old-fashion Europe. where institutions are trying to maintain a good relationship with the press.

Truth be told, for all we know Pato could have been asked "Would you consider Chelsea IF THEY CALLED YOU AND YOUR CLUB LET YOU LEAVE?"
He answers something like "Its nice to know I'm liked by other clubs (or rather by individual journalists)"
Then crap like this gets published. It's not hard.

I'd seriously issue a statement to sue some of these English papers, but they probably hide behind the fact that they report only part of the truth to protect their sensationalist reports.
