I would love nothing more than having Berlusconi sell the team. His cycle should have ended two years ago. But he still owns the team, and we really can't do anything about that. Live with it.

If Berlusconi truly does think Milan should be run like a business, then he should make good decisions on signings, extensions, hiring decisions and most importantly, please the fans. A bad team only leads to less fans and thus less revenue and overall value for the team. So, if you ask me, Berlusconi isn't really trying to run Milan like a business but rather a hybrid, half business and half image machine. Except this hybrid consists the worst of both sides. |

brk if football was a business it would be shut down years ago very few clubs make a real profit every year the liquidity of most clubs is awful most large European football clubs are geared up to 80% and most top clubs never actually reduce the debts that they owe. example Manchester United 5 years bought for 650 million pounds, the club is currently estimated to be in 700 million pounds in the red. the motives most of the time is to gain more recognition more prestige and to fill full a a fantasy. A football club is almost like a private members club it has no purpose other than the members enjoyment.
It is a business decision to make a profit by selling essential assets and not replacing them. what berlusconi going to do sell a player every year to make a profit? Berlusconi is burning the fans money the fans spending makes up 50% of milan income, if the fans are to continue financially supporting club i think it is reasonable that he doesn't sell players just to make a profit. In any case making a profit won't have any affect, Milan has been making a consistent 20 million euro loss each year for 9 years now. If i was a investor looking at buying a stake in Milan i would just the 9 years of losses and ignore the 1 profitable year. |

I don't know how you think you could possibly make those assumptions. You don't have access to the books. You don't know what's really going on. There are many teams that are profitable, and many that aren't. It's not the transfer money that hurts the team the most, it's the wage bill. He got rid of Kaka for his wages not to pocket the transfer. I just hate it when people assume that they know how to run a business better than the self made richest man in Italy. Blame him for his interference, not his business decisions, because you don't know all the facts and never will.

It looks like the Aly Cissokho deal is back up. Just about every news channel has something about a meeting between Aly's agent, Galliani and Porto. Apparently we just had a 10M euro's offer accepted.
It also looks like the Dzeko deal is going in the sand. Haven't heard anything about it for a while, although I seem to remember that Dzeko is suposed to meet with Wolfsburg next week? Apparently Inter signed Arnautovic, we had apparently been interested. He seems like an odd player though. But Inter are having their own problems, Maicon wants to leave, Zlatan wants to leave... It's not going well for Serie A at the moment ![]() About Berlusconi, I agree it would be nice if he sold the club to the Dubai people, or that Italian Chokolade guy, and they invested all their money in the club. Still to anyone saying that Berlusconi is actually taking money OUT of Milan.... You gotta be out of your mind. Quote:

you right i don't have access to Milan accounts because they don't publish them so instead i use private report made by firms assessing teams like Milan. Companies like forbes and dolite have regular access to the books at Milan football and are allowed to use dumb down the figures. Dude i have a MA ins business studies i am private consultant to firms and paid to advise on human resource policies and people management. I used to run a entire level of the Emirate stadium i know what i am talking about. I don't assume i know better Berlusconi if i did i would able to buy Milan myself i just assume i know better than you. Beside i doubt Berlusconi has that influence over the club seeming his daughter earns finivest the holding company of Milan all Berlusconi does is sign off on transfer and use his son to enforce his policies. If Berlusconi and the management sell Kaka just to make a profit than a first year business studies knows better than them. More knowledgeable people running larger companies make more drastic mistakes no one in infallible everybody makes poor business decisions even Berlusconi. to quote richard banson ' After all by managerial decisions i would be happy if a third of business where star prospect a third of business break even and third of my business where basket case'

Brk- your posts are rational and I respect them. I do agree I used word "stole" wrongly and out of context. I will explaing it better later coz I dont have much time right now. I do hope though Milan fans will not buy season tickets if Milan does not invest properly. Even if Milan does not have Berlusconi's money, we should be able to invest some money without selling our players. We are after all one of the biggest clubs in the world with milions of fans, sponsors, tv rights etc.
We lost HUGE ammounts of money becouse of Galliani's incompetence and milion wrong signings that were cheep but also didnt work for Milan. Money was lost on wages, wrong players, no CL coz of few players and coach etc. I'll write more later... ---------------------------------------------------- So Galliani got it cheeper and we'll sign Cissokho... Its a great news coz I have good feeling about his player. Galliani cheated his "friend" from Porto, but aguess in business its all ok. Good for me Im not a business-man so I dont have to live like that. We can probably expect Dzeko affair next week. A player that also blackmails his club and wants to sign for Milan desperately. Galliani said it himself few days back: "First rule in market is that you cant keep a player that wants to leave..." (but you can sell one that doesnt!). All in all, 95% of the players and clubs are doing mercato's in ILEGAL way. Juve with D'Agotina, Milan with Dzeko, Real with C.Ronaldo, Maicon, Villa... Galliani also mentioned we ARE interested in Mexes but he will not say anything. Im sure that only way for Milan to get MExes is to give Marek. Which is not possible untill Cissokho arrives. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Any news on a non-eu rule? Juve: Juve will most likely sign Grosso and Rossi. Lippi is working for them as always. If Inter sells Ibra Juve are no.1 favorites.

The obligation of Berlusconi is to lead Milan if he wants. If he doesnt Milan fans must react and boycot him and THE SAN SIRO. Becouse to say we need to balance books is a joke in football worls. He didnt need balance books while he was buying half of Europe coz he felt like it. Now suddenly...? Football is not business, football "business" is a game from investment fonds and rich people.

Pirlo to Chelsea? Is Milan on sale?
the most recent news...
--------------------------- Berlusconi: Pirlo Could Leave AC Milan The club patron has admitted that Italian international could be sold this summer... 21 Jun 2009 13:52:36 Milan are set to undergo massive changes under new coach Leonardo, already selling Kaka to Real Madrid. The next player thought to be leaving the San Siro is midfielder Andrea Pirlo. "We will see what will happen. I was the first to say he should stay, but we must consider our [financial] accounts," club patron Silvio Berlusconi explained to Il Corriere dello Sport. Indeed, Chelsea have been linked with the 30-year-old and Pirlo himself has admitted the possibility he could move to Stamford Bridge to rejoin former coach Carlo Ancelotti. Nonetheless, Berlusconi is confident that his team will remain competitive if they make changes. "Milan is a great team. We could have won even this past year, but we played in the wrong manner. I was the first to say so, we conceded many goals in the last few minutes," he added. Meanwhile, the Rossoneri supremo also has faith in Brazilian duo Ronaldinho and Pato for the upcoming campaign. "[Ronaldinho] will have a big year," he continued. "[Pato] is great and will have an extraordinary career, I think he can even replace Pato in that sense." ----------------- Financial problems????? Come on Berlu, wtf are you doin with our club! We lost Kaka and now probably we will lose Pirlo too. "Grazie presidente", thank you for solving the financial problems!!! http://goal.com/en/news/10/italy/200...leave-ac-milan

I am starting to lose faith in football now. A few weeks ago, Pirlo was "untouchable." Seriously, why can't Berlusconi get lost? Why can't they convict this criminal finally?
