tuttomercato: Pirlo to London for 30mln, GAGO to Milan for 10-15. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! That would be a really great solution for us - Gago! Just a player we dont need.

I suggest we sell 10 players and we balance books for the next 4 years so we can create a super-new circle!

The end of the world may be upon us.

Well, some interesting things being reported today.

It's originally from a Spanish newspaper, so I hesitate to believe it (although it was picked up by Corriere dello sport), but supposedly Milan wants 25 million euros for Pirlo and will use 15 million to buy Fernando Gago from Real Madrid. Leonardo is said to be very high on Gago and it would make Galliani and Braida happy (it would make me happy also as I've been an admirer of Gago since he was playing for Boca Juniors when he was 18).

Also, Rossi apparently is once again saying his desire would be to play at Milan.

For Rossi to play here he'd have to pay his own transfer fee and wages and fake his passport to say that he's 34

Who dru? Me? Mock? "Afta mi nuh Mockingbird"? (Movado's latest chune)

Well tbh, yes I am....though not u specifically...

Its grating on the nerves, that barely into the mercato, I have to read page after page, (after page) of posts bemoaning this or that....

Let's save the complaints until say, the night (midnight) the window closes....until then, everything is speculative, and as such, there is no need for panic...or am I smoking too much, and drinking too much B&G brand kool-aid? (which like the squad, seems to be past its "sell by" date?)

Still very early days yet.

A brief poem:
Summer mercato '09

Some players will arrive, some will depart, yet Milan remains 1st and foremost in my heart.

Leo will either win, or he won't, Dzeko will come or he won't, some fans will despair, and flee like rats from a sinking boat, but me? I will never lose hope, even if I remain alone on the sinking boat.

B&G's Koolaid is prob past its "sell by" date, we seem tossed about by the storms of fate, but who will deny that one day Milan will be again great?

Siempre Milan, Milan siempre.

Good thing about Gago is he is a good player could be great and he has an Italian passport, his mother is Italian.

From what I've seen Gago, he's worse than Ambrosini. He's a DM who can't really defend. No Gago please. Get Moutinho instead.

The Wolfsburg declaration that Dzeko is unsellable is probably to hike his price. Galliani isn't the only one who can play games.

That's one good thing about the Argentine players. You can probably find some Italian background in at least half of them.

So, mrki, I assume then that you wouldn't want a young Redondo or you wouldn't take Xabi Alonso from Liverpool then? Because that's the sort of player you're saying Milan doesn't need.

But playing this game with Milan (trying to increase prices) seems quite stupid nowadays as it looks like Galliani doesn't want to spend too much, and more importantly, I don't think we will pay amazing amounts of money for one single player. Anyway, 30M for Dzeko is already a lot, probably too much, so I would go for Rossi and the 25M his agent says Villareal will ask for ...

What I don't like is the fact that we could need both Dzeko and Rossi (depending on the formation) but we have to choose one of them because we won't spend more than 65M and we still need a CD (Dzeko 30M + Rossi 25M + Cissokho 10M = 65M ... and they are prices if everything is ok in negotiations, and yes, I still think Cissokho will come, so that would mean no CD except a loan again).

Milan's hopes of signing Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko have been dashed after the coach Armin Veh said his intentions were to keep him.

The Rossoneri have kept on following the Bosnian despite conflicting messages from the German club and the player's agent. However, their chase for Dzeko may come to an abrupt end as Veh is in no mood to sell.

"We will not sell Dzeko," Veh told journalists as reported by Sky Sport Italia.

"I am not ready to talk about player transfers."

Reports suggest the player is still on holiday. Milan have always made it clear that they were keen on the tall striker, but they now face another challenge if they are to sign him.

On Sunday, Dzeko's agent Irfan Redzepagic claimed the proposed to Milan was very much on. Veh's words today suggest the contrary

I think that this summer, will always be remember as "the nightmare summer of 09"

Carlo Ancelotti kept saying that Kaka wasn't for sale, Ferguson said the same about CR7, managers have no say. They always want to keep the best players.

I think the most crucial comment regarding the Dzeko affair came from Galliani, when he said something to the effect of 'these days, the players will means everything and legally you have to accept that'. He was implying that if Dzeko demands a move to Milan, they can't stop him. He's still on holiday and hasn't met the directors. I'll wait until that happens before start blaming anyone for a failed summer.

Imo Alonso is a much better playmaker than Gago, so he'd be a more suitable replacement for Pirlo, should he leave. Gago is a bit like Flamini, though only half as good, so unless he really realized his potential with us, he wouldn't get much playing time.

It is getting a big joke. We want a player (not a World class) and we can't sign him.

We are a big joke trying to sign top players for 2-3m.

I haven't seen him play a lot for Real Madrid, but from what I've read he is just coming off a fantastic season. But I have seen him play for Argentina and he's been outstanding paired with Mascherano in the midfield. I also watched him play regularly (and briliantly) for Boca Juniors when he was 18-19 years old and I know he's capable of greatness.

If I had a choice between Felipe Melo and Gago, I would pick the Brazilian in a heartbeat. I don't know, there's just something about Gago that makes me hate him...

Still, I would think Hernanes would replace Pirlo much better than either of them would. He's a touch tackler (unlike Gago) who has delicate feet and an incredible shot (unlike Melo). He's still my first pick to replace Pirlo.
