D'Agostino would be the best like for like replacement, he was one of the best creative midfielders in Italy last season..

If this is true, that is a shame. Now we will definently be getting a new LB/RB, which is probably the reason we were chasing Cissoko in the foirst place. Antonelli was actually a good player, not given enough of a chance even when Janko was out of form.

I truly love your optimism, but feel that Milan, with financial difficulties needs to head in a different direction. I will leave you with an intelligent quote that underlines our current situation, and the strategies we should take: “He is a calm and generous lad. He is not a big name, but that suits Milan’s current economic situation. He is a great prospect and is hungry.” Milan fans are still furious over Kaka’s €67.5 million switch to Real and they fear Italy international Andrea Pirlo will soon follow suit. “I understand their feelings,” Bierhoff said. “But it is time to cut down on big expenses. If you lack finances, you need players who cost less but with great potential. Dzeko is one of them.” Well said and very sensible in my opinion... ![]() |

To be honest, as much as I love Cesc playing for Milan, it is not going to happen. I think the chances of Xavi coming is higher. And pls don't let one comment from Cesc fool you. Milan will not go for him as he is too expensive, on top of that Cesc was probably being polite when ask, Would u mind playing for Milan.....

But we now have money don't we? Of course Cesc will be very expensive, but if you factor in his transfer fee minus what we get for Pirlo plus what we end up saving from Pirlo's massive wages, then it might make financial sense...You never know.

Bro, you honestly think that Arsenal will ask MIlan for 40Mil for Cesc, considering if that happens, Real will come in with 65mil. Whatever Milan offers, Real will offer a lot more. Thats the first barrier.
To me Cesc will rather play in Spain then in Italy, thats the second barrier. Lastly, with the way Galli handles himself in the transfer market(using tactics from the 70s), I doubt anyone at Arsenal or in this world would want to deal with him instead of Perez who will say yes as long as thats the player he wants. Thats the third barrier. I am not playing down the ability of the MGT, but Cesc coming is as slim as Kaka returning in Jan or Maldini decides to play one more year for Milan. IF Cesc is a Brazilian playing in Sao Paolo, then it will be another story. |

Maybe I'm just getting my hopes up, but I think if we try we can convince Cesc to join our project. It's difficult, and maybe he does want to go to Spain more, but at this point it seems the only firm declaration he's made is to Arsenal, and I'm certain they would sell if the offer was right. If Pirlo is sold, then Fabregas is probably the best option available and everything should be done to bring him in, we'd be stupid not to seriously try.
I think we could get him for around 30-35m euros tops, as he's got neither the marketing power of guys like Kaka and Ronaldo, and Arsenal generally work on tighter and more sensible budgets than other clubs, meaning they will likely be more realistic when selling. A good example is Hleb, who was one of Arsenal's top players when he left, but in the end left for less than £12m, roughly a third of the supposed 40m euros we're supposedly talking about with Cesc, despite at the time being in his prime at around 26-27 and being considered one of the most important players in Arsenal. It must be remembered that while Fabregas is often starting for Spain these days, he's not indispensible at this point to the national side, so this instantly brings his value down. Also, although there are rumours about Madrid, at this point I don't think they're seriously in the picture. In other news, we're apparently seriously looking at Andre Santos rather than Cissokho now as he's so much cheaper according to Milannews. Also, according to everywhere and as most know, this weekend is likely to be really important on knowing about the future of Dzeko. Finally, milannews printed a pretty interesting interview with Franco Ordine who writes for Il Giornale. Here's the gist of his comments... Berlu has invested for years at Milan but given the current economic climate, he looks to keep a keen eye on the budgets at Milan. The talk of Arabs taking over are nothing more than rumours, nothing particularly concrete. Dzeko wants Milan, and almost everytime a player wants a club, he goes there. About Fabregas, he says that it's mostly a dream move. Essentially the club is tightening it's budget and if Pirlo leaves it's mostly due to his salary. Fabregas coming in would essentially mean the salary isn't lessened (as he'll demand a lot) and so it's unlikely. Regarding Pato and Pirlo, Pato won't leave and Pirlo is the only serious doubt at this point in time. As for who replaces Pirlo, he said the ideas that people have will cost too much, so most likely an internal solution will be found. I'm not sure what he means as we have no alternatives, other than maybe Di Gennaro? He shot down the idea of D'Agostino coming. Apparently we won't go for a keeper, Dida will continue to play until Abbiati is 100% Regarding Dinho he says it's a big season next season for him. Essentially, he's got a lot of faith being placed on him and has a lot to work for (world cup). He has no excuses next season. As for Leo, he says he's a risk, but we've done this in the past like this time. His view on the Kaka deal is Milan sold for money, but Kaka was happy to leave too. Essentially, Kaka could have rejected like Man City but he didn't. And on Ancelotti, the common agreement between club and manager was in place for a while, just they didn't say anything to not affect our season. As for our chances next season, milannews asked what our chances would be if a new CB (maybe defender in general), midfielder (I think Pirlo replacement) and Dzeko arrived. The response was we'd be aiming for a top 4 spot in the league (not winning it) and in CL we would have to aim to get out of the group stage and take it from there. Our co-ownership deal with them was simply renewed, like with Paloschi. |

Dzeko is incresingly close to be a next Milan player..
The man market Wolfsburg, Franz Aehlih, seems resigned: "We can not hold anyone against his will."

Ferrara wants Santacroce Saturday 27 June, 2009 Juventus Coach Ciro Ferrara would like Napoli centre-back Fabiano Santacroce at the heart of his defence, according to Il Corriere dello Sport. The Bianconeri have already signed Fabio Cannavaro this summer, but the 35-year-old had a poor Confederations Cup and some believe he only has one more season left in his tank. Earlier this week, Juventus sold Olof Mellberg to Olympiacos, leaving them short of numbers at centre-back ahead of a gruelling season. Ferrara is a keen admirer of Santacroce, who has a gift for tactics and is renowned for playing in a number of positions across the backline. Before Ferrara got the Juventus job, he said: “My heir at Napoli is Santacroce,” showing just how high he holds him in regard. The 22-year-old, who was born in Brazil but grew up in Italy, has great margins of improvement and can rejuvenate the Juventus defence. However, he has a contract with Napoli until 2012. The Partenopei are said to be asking for £5m, but could let him go a little cheaper now they have signed Juan Zuniga from Siena. Juventus already had the chance to sign Santacroce last year, but the Bianconeri passed up the opportunity to do so. The error apparently cost a Juventus scout his job. £5m, unbeliveable, if that's true, we MUST compete with Juve for Santacroce. |

Galliani just said on acmilan.com that we have signed De Gennaro from Reggina, and Gianmarco Zigoni.
Translated: MILAN - A cross between Milan and Genoa, although last season he played for Reggina, Davide Di Gennaro returns to Milan. Envelopes to the rossoneri you 'win' the young man class in 1988. At the beginning of his speech today at the Workshop announced that Adriano Galliani also added that: 'Gianmarco Zigoni (18 years, ndr attacker) is rossonero outright'. Zigoni is a big striker as far as I know, and a great prospect. |
