I think Kaka and Pato were more talented and then the other two.

Kaka had been playing well and to show that he actually have great potential, he was selected into the Brazil 2002 WC squad at 17, although he did not play a single minute, but he did beat out the likes of Robino, JB, RO, Fabaino and others. It shows that he is indeed has a great future ahead of him. Ronaldo was also chosen into the 1994 WC squad at 17 without playing a minute too.

Pato was 16 turning 17 playing in a pro league and dominating, Dzeko is 22 and had been playing pro football for a while. On top of that Dzeko is physically bigger than Pato, and yet Pato was the one that clubs wanted even before he signed with Milan. While as of now, Dzeko is only being link with Milan.
Cissohko, I would say is great, love his speed and love his power down the flank. Actually I do think Cissohko is a sure bet my problem is that if Flamini is willing to play the flank, I don't think CIssohko is much of an upgrade, as Flamini really did well covering the flank.
FYI... Kaka did get a run in 2002 world Cup... he was also the best young player in Brazil in 2002.

goal.com seems to think his signing will mean we will go for Luca Toni since the non-EU spot will be taken and Adebayor and Dzeko are both non-EU.

I always thought Ade wasn't...can anyone confirm?

Did anyone think that the reason why Huntelaar isn't being linked with Milan or anything is that perhaps, the new coach at Real wants to keep him? Did anyone think about that?

I mean, think about it, are you going to have a more dynamic-type striker when you have to balance Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo? No! You need someone to score garbage goals, who better than Huntelaar with Van Nistelrooy coming off a injury-hit season?

Furthermore, do you know what I've noticed about us on this forum? The second a player seems destined for Milan, we HATE that player, we talk about how much better other players were to the one we are linked with now, I can't believe I've seen praise on ADEBAYOR.

The grass is always greener on the other side, but this is ridiculous.

You guys have turned Dzeko from a player who has scored many goals this last season, and is young at 23, to some late bloomer who is garbage and just scored 36 goals in 42 games by accident.

And now that Cissoko seems to be a deal that broke down, he was a great full-back, but how many have actually watched him? I know I have only seen a few games of his (like 3) and while the signs were good, but if you want to complain about the management putting faith in Dzeko, how about Cissoko?! He was playing in the second divison, and has only had half a season with a top team.

Does that mean I don't want Cissoko? NO! That means that our scouts obviously have an eye for talent (Dzeko was an easy one to catch) but I don't see why everytime there is a player we are linked to that isn't high-profile and highly ranked in Championship Manager, we talk about them being the worst players and that Milan are linked with second-tier signings.

Are you kidding me?! Milan has always enjoyed getting great talents from obscure places. We have from time-to-time spent big on well-known players, but honestly if you guys are trying to tell me that Kaka was some sort of big-name player that everyone on earth was trying to sign, then why did we sign him for like 5-7 million?

And with regards to Porto being unprofessional, I agree that it is their right and their duty to deny deals they think are not in their interest, however, I am sure that they should understand why Milan is asking for a lower price. And if the whole loan for 3m with an option to buy for 12 should he play 50% of our games if a great deal, especially for a player with medical issues that could make the length of his stay at Milan shorter or less successful, I don't see why Porto is denying the new terms, they are fair as far as I am concerned.

Again I respectfully disagreed, buddy. I think he only looked good last year because he was compared to Senderos, who besides Paolo, played as our main CB.

I remember years ago when Aaron Winters moved back to Ajax after some seasons in Italy. He was mostly warmed the bench before being released the next year or so. I recalled the Ajax coach said something like even though he could be a decent back-up, in Ajax philosophy the bench is the place for young potential player, not the decent oldies with 2-3 years left om his career. I think that's my main reason not to cheer for Favalli's renewal. Giving a chance for our youth like Albertazzi, or even Bonera, to get more experience next season will benefit us more.

Player with exotic name like this just don't suit us. Remember the Elephantpolos guy?

Just kidding though as nothing interesting happens today

Can someone outline this for us. I tried to do it, but there are too many question marks in my head to translate this and I might end up drawing up wrong conclusions.

The part about De Silvestri as far as I got, means that he wants to be transfer listed and Lottito is quite frustrated by that and possibly not willing to let him go because he has a contract.

That's a good point, and I do agree with you that potentially young players should be the ones on the bench, but Favalli does add something else to the team in my opinion.

First of all, I don't agree that he's bad, I consider him solid because you know how he's gonna play when he comes on, he's not like Kaladze who sometimes (like against Inter last year) just completly forgets how to play, he's by no means Nesta, but he's reliable. Second, as far as I know, he's considered a sort of a 'mentor' to a lot of players, he's the one that helps young people adapt and grow, a bit like Billy or Maldini. His career might not have been as great as Billy's or Maldini's, but he still has a lot of influence on the players as far as I know.

Not saying they won't do well in Milan or they are not good players, but do they deserve to have us fans talk and talk and talk and talk and hope and hope and hope about them signing with Milan? They are really not the Messi, CR7, Essien, Benzema, Villa, Torres, Vidic or even G. Rossi or Givinco at this moment. Yes, they do have potential blah blah blah blah, but I am pretty sure players like them(High potential players) come and go every year. Last year it was Dos Santos of Barcelona and some of us here actually wonders how come MIlan did not make a pitch for him after he was sold to Spurs for 8M or so. The year before that was Gomez. This year Dzeko and Cissohko, who knows maybe next year will be X and Y and also Z.

What I am trying to say is that, don't expect too much from the MGT and don't get too excited about 1 or 2 or 3 new signings, as to me thats the bare minimum the MGT needs to do to actually compete in Series A and Europe.
Let me remind you, Pato wasn't even a One-season wonder when we bought him, more like half a season wonder and he is now easily one of the most expensive player in the world if we decide to sell him.

Our track record with picking young players is pretty good so as to speak. Gourcuff is another example but we fail to keep him here and sold him on the cheap because of the loan deal. If milan pick a young talent then you can be sure we are not likely to make mistakes. Our mistakes come from signing some oldies when they are past it....

Perhaps the idea that the bench should be for youngsters was good when Ajax wasn't losing their talents before even making the bench? It is that same mentality that has seen Ajax decline, I think.

Wolfsburg just signed Martins from newcastle which makes it obvious that they are letting go one of their strikers and its just dzeko. they are playing a hard to get game but at the end of the day i think they are going to do what the player wants.

and the funny thing is that the seasonal ticket sales at milan camp is only 400 that means that the management should work hard to get their fans back. personally i just hope that we dont get more than 3 000 ticket so the upper people would understand that milan belongs to city of milan not to one rich guy who is not willing to be and act like a president.

Miranda has an EU passport. I don't think Adebayor does.

Then lets just take Miranda anyway. Considering that we're planning to swoop for Dzeko, it really doesn't make much difference who else we get in Defense or Midfield, so long as our Forward spot is being taken by a Non-EU player.

Personally, I'd rather we took G.Rossi and Huntelaar, that'd save us an EU spot and make more fans happier than they are now. Plus, we'd be able to Nab both Miranda and Hernanes that way.

When his name came up earlier in this thread I did some searching and found this:

Quote:
Nevertheless, Roma have subsequently set their sights on another Brazilian defender, Miranda, who plays for Sao Paulo. The 24-year-old graduated from Coritiba, and has already had an experience at a European club, French side Sochaux. He is considered to be one of the most promising young Brazilian defenders.

He also has a EU passport, so he could be signed without particular bureaucratic problems.
Maybe that's wrong. I don't know.

That's probably the best news I have heard all summer about milan. Finally, the fans are stepping up and holding the management responsible for their actions.
