No Barcelona are the team to beat. Real Merda could sign another 3-4 gallacticos and Barcelona would still be lightyears ahead of them. Don't forget how Real Madrid was embarresed by Liverpool in the CL last year, aswell as against Barcelona and that Amatuer side (LOL).

Barcelona is a team put together by a coach, someone who actually knows football, Real Madrid is put together by a man who knows nothing of football, and he proved that the last time around. And the Benzema signing is insane to say the least, they already have so many attackers, among those Higuain who was their best player last season, and who I'd rate much higher than Benzema.

I probably shouldn't even do this because there are a few here who might read this and shoot themselves in the head.

According to goal.com (in Italian), now that Dzeko isn't an option, Milan is turning its attention to.......

Peter Crouch!

As a former player, I can tell you that the better team always beats the best individuals. Without fail.

Mourinho (who I respect very much as a coach, even if he is Inter's manager, he still is very wise) said that "there was no point in just grabbing the best players, you need a team, for every Kaka or CR7 you need a Gattuso, a Makelele, and so on"

Real is making a huge mistake because while Raul Abiol is good, Pepe is a hot-head, Marcelo is more of a left-winger than a left-back, but honestly, with the two Diarra's in front of that back four, that shouldn't be the issue.

I'll tell you what the major issue is: First, Captain Raul needs to play, he is the captain and leader of that team. He has scored quite a few goals the last two seasons (after 2-3 seasons of odd underperformance). Now that Benzema is there (who was not the type of striker that they needed, nor is Villa) what happens to Raul? Clearly a 4-2-3-1 is what has to be used, but even then, it's hard because both Kaka and CR7 drift to the right. Overloading the right and Benzema might be forced there, but I'd be surprised to see Robben in the line up.

The biggest issue though is if those players will actually click. They are all players who demand the ball, and you know what they say about too many cooks in the kitchen..

I'm surprised that Huntelaar isn't relied upon more, or RVN for that matter. But then again, if you look at CR7 and Kaka, you'll realize that neither are creative powerhouses, sure they make things for others when they can't shoot, but otherwise they are players who really surge forward for goals. If Del Piero is a "9.5" halfway between a 10 and a 9, then Kaka and CR7 are halfway between 9.5 and 7, if you know what I mean.

That is a problem, and Real will have trouble having focus.

You see the Galactico era with Zidane, Figo, etc worked because each Galactico actually had different roles. Figo was more of a distributor than a goal-scorer, as was Zidane, but both occupied different parts of the pitch, while Morientes and Raul are both no-nonsense consistent players. Plus, you had Makelele (though Lass Diarra is incredible).

So, I honestly am not saying this to make myself or ourselves feel better, but to honestly question this period of Galactico might. Benzema is not the sort of player to simply finish off moves, he is a far more dynamic striker. And even if he was a straight-up finisher, CR7 and Kaka are not exactly renown for their distributive skills either.

It was nice being all of your friends. I hope that Milan succeed, but now, I must go, take a shotgun and end it all.

Am I the only person who thinks Peter Crouch is the most awkward looking athlete, ever? I mean, when he walks, I think his bones will push out of his knees! And how does he do all those bicycle kicks?

Perfect. Now maybe we can wrap him in tape and use him as a stick to knock down walnuts from the trees in Milano.

There's never been a player I've hated watching more than Peter Crouch.

Somehow I have very serious doubts about this one.

We could use him as a spear. Who knows Gattuso might be able to hit Moratti from the pitch when we play Inter, he looks like a strong fella.
Or we could paint him green and use him as a lightsaber

The possiblities are endless!

Seedorf was pretty damned good and he left. This has nothing to do with how good or bad Real Madrid's players are. This is about Fiorentino Perez wanting to put his own "gallactico" stamp on the team and show the world that he can bring in virtually any player he wants. Huntelaar and the rest of the Dutch players were acquisitions of the old regime and are, therefore, expendable.

Remember what Louis van Gaal said recently: "In the box, he is the best player in the world, bar none."

Some excerpts from an article that appeared in The Independent recently regarding Huntelaar:

Quote:
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, aka "The Hunter", is shaping up to become one of the all-time great Netherlands forwards and has already been compared to Marco van Basten. He joined Real Madrid from Ajax for the thick end of £20m in January and during one recent game no lesser an authority than the veteran coach Louis van Gaal said: "In the box, he is the best player in the world, bar none."
Quote:
So how good is Huntelaar? In statistical terms, extraordinary, averaging well above a goal every other game for his clubs and for his country (both at Under-21 and senior level) for more than six years.

He made only one senior appearance in the first season of his senior career – which was at PSV Eindhoven, under Guus Hiddink, in 2002-03. But he exploded into life on loan at second-tier AGOVV, and has continued in the same style since at Heerenveen, Ajax and now at Real.

All told, he has scored 143 league goals in 194 games, for a strike rate of 0.74 goals per game. At Real, where he has hit eight goals in 11 games, that rate is still 0.72. At international level, he scored 18 in 22 for the Under-21s and has netted 11 times in 19 games (0.58 per game) for the grown-up Oranje. That makes him the most prolific man in the current squad in terms of goals per game, way ahead of Van der Vaart (13 in 65), Van Persie (12 in 34) and Robben (10 in 37).

Only Faas Wilkes and Johan Cruyff in the post-war era have better Dutch international goals-per-game stats, with Huntelaar ahead of Patrick Kluivert, Dennis Bergkamp, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Van Basten in those terms, albeit at a relatively early stage of his career.

"We all thought it was an amazing thing for Louis van Gaal to praise Huntelaar like that," says Mike Verweij, a senior writer with De Telegraaf, the Netherlands' biggest-selling newspaper. "But Huntelaar is proving it correct."
Quote:
In a Dutch squad historically notorious for internal strife and ego problems, Verweij says Huntelaar is "a genuine team player. He's a really nice guy, down to earth, quiet, nothing seems to faze him. We think of him as 'Mr Cool'. Away from football he likes nothing better than to go fishing, and enjoy some peace and quiet."

That's not necessarily true. Huntelaar might have to go just because of the sort of team that is being brought in thanks to Perez.

With Criscito, he impressed many this season at Genoa and during the U21's, and there is a good chance he doesn't want to go back to a team that didn't have faith in him before. I mean, we should know about that, Gourcuff played excellent this year, and didn't come back to Milan.

Criscito is an exciting talent, and I'd like for him to come to Milan, and Cissoko is good as well, but I am worried about the transition into Serie A for Cissoko. I have no doubts about Cissoko's ability to go forward, but defensively, I haven't seen enough of him to really decide whether I think he'll be able to take the more cynical Serie A.

If we need a big target-man, Mido is around 1million from Boro, who got relegated. Just saying.

i dont agree with any of this..firsly your first sentence is not clear at all,a group of motivated wc individuals can win anyone in a good day..

i think that both kaka and cr7 can be creative powerhouses, and if they fit together i m sure about it..

how did you came up that both kaka and cr7 drift to the right?kaka's best matches were on an absolut free role and most of the times he tended to drift on the left, that was the problem with dinho on the same 11..and cr7 can play wc on the left too..i think that there will be no problem with that,at all..

benzema is a really strong player, with gr8 techinque that can quickly understand kaka's and cr7 game..just target powerful strickers, will be history after some years..the best fws these days are torres, etoo, ibra, villa and more..they totally reprsent football's needs nowadays..

i think real were never interested for a target fw,and i think they ll get rid of huntelaar or nistelroy(although he is another story),because no club nowadays play that fooball(with target man infont)if you see the best clubs around(barca, man unt, real now, liverpool etc..)

thats the reason i m not sure about dzeko either..

Kaka when he takes his runs, does slide into the left, but if you look at many of Kaka's goals, they tend to come from the right. Again, this is not absolute, and I think I may have exaggerated, but, honestly, I think CR7 and Kaka will have a tough time together.

Furthermore, to say that Kaka and CR7 are creative powerhouses, that is off-the-mark. Both of them have creative skills, but they are not as creative as say, Zidane and Figo, who would be the best example of two players similar in position and stature (at the time). Zidane and Figo were far more directed towards distribution than goal-scoring.

The era of the classic 9 is not dead, it's just changed. Naming Torres, Ibra, they are still more dynamic versions of "the number 9" but Etoo is a rather unique player. Benzema is similar to Etoo, but again, he is less agile, and while he has tremendous pace, he does not have the same levels of agility.

Dzeko, Huntelaar, Mario Gomez, these are how number 9's have evolved. However, the real future of the number 9 is Adriano. Now he has failed, because of his personality. But, a player of his size, speed, power, skill will be the future. That is why the USA has done so well, because their players are physically superior to any other players on earth, in terms of physical fitness.

In American football, you can have a wide receiver (generally 6'3" 220 pounds), which is about the same as Adriano, who can run faster than most football (soccer) players. That level of physical fitness is the future of football, let alone just the number 9.

Adriano is the first of this kind of player. Many top teams (Milan included) are now utilizing American athletic techniques to get their players bigger, faster, and stronger. Look at Ronaldinho from his days at PSG and then as he went through his prime at Barca. Take a look at CR7 as he grew at Man Utd.

The game is getting more physical, that is one of the major reasons why English teams are winning, because they are able to overcome technical draw-backs (with of course some incredible players, don't get me wrong).

i m just saying that it's a bit strange to talk about kaka's and cr7's creativty,of course theyre not as creative as zizou was(i cant remember of anyone being that creative, maybe in football history!!)but they re a lot more complete than figo, both of them..

i am referring to the number 9,just to say that huntelaar or even dzeko wouldnt be my priority if i were in charge..i d prefer somone like the ones i mentoned above, but i wouldnt say no to a young motivated drogba for example..but as we both know huntelaar is nowhere near that..

edit
ps as for mido that u refer,i really likesd him in ajax and merseille,he was one of my favourite talents, but he totally failed my expectations,i assume because of his taperamento..
