Becouse that inconsistent player in a young and brilliant striker who will be one of the top forwards in Europe in years to come. With Aguero and Pato he is the best young CF in Europe. Who is better then him under the age of 23?

Time will show what Benzema can do, if Im wrong I will say I know **** about young forwards.

Rick no offense, but Pato isn't really consistent either and Milan paid about 18mil for him.

Name another striker that you think deserve the 35mil price tag.

I mean if Benzema is a Milan player for that amount, you will probably saying, take that RM, as Milan just got a bargain while you have to pay twice as much to get a player.
But that's my point, I don't think Dzeko will cost more than 25m, and that's a very high price for him, at the most I'd value him at around 20m. Benzema has amazing potential, but at this point paying 35m for a player with potential but is yet to realise it is quite insane. Benzema is a bigger name than Dzeko, but certainly he's not worth 35m, at the most he shouldn't be valued more than around 25m. Essentially, a little more than Dzeko and around Pato's sort of price, though at the time of purchase we overpaid for Pato (given his status at the time), even if now it's become a good investment.

35 Million for Benzema is overpriced. He's just come off a terrible season lest you forget, he's still young, but who's to say that he isn't already playing at full potential? Also to anyone saying that Benzema is better than Torres, I'll just have to add that that's absolutly rediculess.

Anyway, I'd take Higuain over Benzema any day, he's so much more talented, he was definetly Real Madrids best player last season. It looks like they'll play 4-4-2 so it seems that there'll be room for both (while they take a big dump on their icon Raul), because frankly Perez would be out of his mind to replace Higuain with Benzema.

Maybe. But he certainly needs to be more consistent and he hasn't proven himself at the La Liga level. He has the ability to be a great striker for years to come, but so does Adebayor, who isn't that much older.

Had you asked that question a few months ago, I could have said Dzeko. Would you have wanted Milan to pay 35 million pounds for Dzeko? He's a far more consistent player and has a much better scoring rate in a better league.

Not that many strikers under the age of 23 get a chance to play regularly, but don't be surprised if there aren't some guys out there who you might rate more highly than Benzema a few years down the road. Bojan Krkic is a good example.

I'm not saying Benzema is crap. I'm just saying that 35 million pounds is too much money to pay for potential. If I'm going to shell out those kind of bucks, I want somebody I can count on to be consistently brilliant. I don't want a guy who disappears for four or five games at a time. Give me Benzema for 20 and I might consider taking him. But not 35.

Exactly. Milan paid 18 for him. Not 35. (And by the way, it was 18 million euros Milan paid for Pato, not pounds. So it was about 15.5 million pounds.)

I might pay 35 for Villa or Torres. Maybe a couple of others. Not Benzema.

I think a club like Milan is a selling club now, and players can sense that. In my opinion, Pato could leave within 3 years. Also, violence, racism, mediocre contracts, lack of marketing etc. play their part.

We have to get used to this.
I think it depends. I am really frustrated by our club's transfer in recent seasons too, but it's not that we have no way to compete. I know that it's unlikely to happen but if we can get players from Serie A team like Santacroce, Zapata, Cigarini, Hamsik, Kuzmanovic, I think we can still compete with teams from other country. Yes, it is unlikely to happen but I just want to point out a way that we may still compete without players from other country

Until a year ago Benzema had shown so much more than Higuain, but last season Higuain was certainly a level above "Benzinho". So it really depends on how you look at it, who's the better player - we'll see in time. Though I agree, it wouldn't make sense to start with Higuain on the bench, but this is Madrid, remember .

And another thing, I know Pellegrini loves the 4-4-2, but he cannot play like that in Madrid, as Kaka won't fit in. Unless he plays him as a supporting striker, in which case it'll look more like a 4-2-3-1. Otherwise Kaka would have to play as a central midfielder or a winger, and obviously he cannot play either, or at least it's such a waste.

They have to go with the 4-2-3-1 formation with Robben/Ribery - Kaka - Ronaldo playing behind Higuain/Benzema/Raul/Huntelaar/RVN (well they're a wee bit overloaded in the CF position, then, maybe Higuain and Raul will alternate playing further back or out wide?). However this formation would depend on them getting someone like Xabi Alonso, to play as one of the central 2, as there's just no way in hell Madrid are going to play with both Diarras, it's "beneath" them...

Damn, with all these Luca Toni/Peter Crouch rumours it's becoming more interesting to follow Madrid than Milan

Then would you please buy one of them, Rick? 'Cause I don't think Berlu wants to...

Well, no point discussing Benzema anymore as he is 70% Real player.

Just ashame that Milan did not even try to sign him.

Christian, Dzeko has ONE good year, Benzema had much more. And he had lousy half-season, not whole year. His first half of the season was brilliant.

We'll see about Benzema, in 6 months some people will have to admit they cant see anything but present time. Or I'll be wrong, its possible as well.

benzema had ONE good ear (07-08) and has been ver dissapointing in 08-09. IMO he is overrated. He lacks real pace like pato on ball and off though he has a quick first couple movements, he's strong but not a physical presense like dzeko or drogba or adebayor. He is technical sound but by no means aguero, messi etc. Shortly put i think he's good at everything but great or world class at nothing.

France is different from a real league. I'm sure he'll score in spain cause its a league guys like dani guiza score 30 goals....but to me he really is a poor man's anelka albiet with a much better attitude. His mentality might be his best point

Can anyone answer these Questions?...........
Is Milan a dominant force in the Asian Market??
What are we doing to generate money other than TV earnings?
How much do we earn from TV earnings?
Who is responsible for the sale of Milan shirts? Adidas or Milan?
How much do we earn from our shirt sponsors Bwin?
How many sold out games we had last season at the San Siro?
are we operating at a loss?
how much revenue did we earn over the past two years?

The thing I don't understand is that, I am sure if Milan signed Benzema or going after him while Real signed Dzeko. Most of the comments being made here will be the same except for toward which player.

Just b/c Dzeko had one season does not make him better than Benzema, who had been pretty solid for the past few years.
On top of that, nobody can have Pato's speed or technique like Messi or Augero or even physical presense like Droba and Ade all at the same time.

Guys, lets stop about this Benzema stuff, as he will not be a MIlan player b/c the CLUB just don't want to pay anyone who is quality.

Also, to those who thinks Real overpayed for Benzema, thats the same thing fans around the world said about Milan when they did signed CIssohko, while most of you said it was the signing of the century, or close to that.
