Milan CEO Adriano Galliani: Real Madrid Have Destabilised The Transfer Market
The Rossoneri executive has blamed los Merengues’ free-spending for the inflated prices in the transfer market.
6 Jul 2009 09:11:25

Milan vice president Adriano Galliani flew back to Italy yesterday after ineffectual talks with Real Madrid supremo Florentino Perez, who he has since blamed for destabilising the transfer market.

Galliani reportedly tried to get a loan deal for 25-year-old forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but the proposal was bluntly rejected by Perez.

“They demand €20-30 million for a striker? We say goodbye and go home. A domino effect triggered by Real is setting in, because every club asks €20-30m for any player these days," Galliani complained to the Corriere Dello Sport.

“After all, only Real Madrid have spent money so far. The top four English clubs have done nothing. And only Diego has arrived in Italy from abroad at Juventus.

“We will show up again when the prices go down, not earlier. The fans have to understand that it’s not possible to negotiate at these prices.

“Our coach will have at least six offensive players at his disposal: [Clarence] Seedorf; [Filippo] Inzaghi; [Marco] Borriello; [Alexandre] Pato; Ronaldinho; and Gianmarco Zigoni. Yes, our young recruit will get into the first team, just like it happened with [Alberto] Paloschi.”

Milan signed highly-rated striker Zigoni from Treviso last month for a reported fee of just €1.2m.

Marseille Offer €13m For Real Madrid's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
The French side are upping the ante on the transfer front and have pinpointed the Dutchman as their next target...
5 Jul 2009 18:26:51

French Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique Marseille are set to launch a €13m bid for Real Madrid forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, according to reports.

Huntelaar moved to the Bernabeu in January from Dutch side Ajax for a fee of €20m but, with the arrival of Karim Benzema in the past week, his opportunities are likely to be limited next season, and Europe’s top clubs have been put on alert regarding his availability.

Earlier today, Goal.com reported that Los Blancos had rejected a loan offer from AC Milan for the 25-year old, but a significant cash offer could see Perez consider moving the striker on to pastures new.

Marseille have smashed their own transfer record this weekend with the capture of midfielder Lucho Gonzalez from Porto for €18m, signalling their intent to clinch silverware next season under new coach Didier Deschamps.

Now French publication La Provence states that l'OM have set their sights on Huntelaar, as they look to challenge both domestically and in the Champions League.

Much may depend on the players’ willingness to move to France.

The Dutchman had a prolific goalscoring record during his time in Holland, netting 76 times in 92 domestic matches and, despite only making his debut for Real Madrid in February, he scored 8 times to help his side clinch second place in the La Liga table.

No use feeling bitter towards Perez. Business is business, adn you don't have to pay favours....

Just thinking, how much have we spent so far. Maybe 5 million euro tops?

We should spend atleast half of what we made from sales. It will almost be impossble signing a defender (we bloddy need one, everyone forgets about the defense), and a quality CF at the same time. Surely, Berlusconi, out of all his assets can drag out 10 million euro from somewhere, as so we can find a quality defender....

Come on guys, we NEED a defender......

It is very much true that RealM has distorted transfer market and that almost every club now demands too much money, but that doesn't give Galli the right to make a fool out of himself through his interviews where he sounds like a broken record all the time and cries like a little kid and therefore brings shame to Milan reputation.

All those things can be done with little more professionalism.

Like I said, thats sugarcoating for me, mate.

On top of that, didn't he sold Kaka for 65mil and at the same time promised they will sign someone to replace Kaka.

buying Luis Fabiano for 20 million as a 29 year old is ridiculous. Sure, he would fit in better than most, but his value for the future, including wages, would altogether prove to be an unwise economic option. My question is, why can't Berlusconi put in alteast a mere 10 million euros into our transfer pool. We need a defender, and they usually come much cheaper than fowards.

The money we are using for transfers has all come from our sales, NONE from our president himself. SAD! If the days in which he was able to contribute to the club's earnings are gone, then yes, he must leave. He is representing the greatest club in history, a true symbol of soccer, and yet he is acting like the patron of a lower league club. What is this!?

10000% agree.

Why would Perez just loan you someone for free when someone else wants to buy it for 20mil.

To me, Milan was stupid and rushed to sell Kaka for 65Mil as if they hold on to that offer longer, it can be 80mil and throw in Seedorf in there too.

To be honest, what Galli is doing is trying to gain sympathy from the fans but instead he is looking like an ass**** and a retard as everyone with a brain knows that his intended actions are wishful thinkings.

Yes, I always believed that 65 million was a lowly price for Kaka. Look now! We cannot even buy ONE quality CF with half of his transfer fee. And these players aren't exactly David Villas! Hell, i could march into Liverpool and offer them 65 million for Torres, and they would still reject the offer. It simply wasn't enough, and we should have played hardball like Madrid is doing right now to us after requesting for Hunter's services.

Porto Defender Aly Cissokho Wants Milan, No Offers From Inter – Agent
The Italian representative for the Frenchman claims the Rossoneri are still the player’s first choice...
6 Jul 2009 10:03:12

Aly Cissokho’s future is still in limbo after Milan scrapped a €15 million deal with Porto after the defender failed a medical, and French press reports have suggested that local rivals Inter have now joined the hunt for his services, suggestions refuted by the player's agent.

A dental problem that could bring about muscular injuries was discovered by Milan head doctor Jean-Pierre Meersseman, but Cissokho’s legal representative in the peninsula, Fabrizio Ferrari, insists the Frenchman is a safe bet.

“Aly is a healthy player,” he told 7 Gold show 'Domenica Stadio'.

“Porto had already cured his posture problems stemming from his teeth so much so that he did not have any physical issues last term.

“Milan clearly have faith in professor Meersseman, who deems this physical problem very important.”

But is it true that Inter are trying to snatch the wing-back from under the noses of their bitter rivals?

“I spoke to [Inter technical director Marco] Branca on the phone, but I didn’t receive any specific requests for Aly,” admitted the agent.

“Aly is very disappointed, because he doesn’t know yet where he will play next season. He wants Milan, but Porto don’t seem disposed to give in to the Rossoneri’s conditions.”

Vince Masiello, Goal.com

The longer he goes unaffected by this problem, the lesser chance there is of it re-occuring. Porto knew of the risk but was able to treat it wiht minimal fuss.

Luis for 20mil might be too much, while 35m for Benzema is also abit too much. While most people say 65M for Kaka is also too much.
I don't think he has the right to complain about so and so is too much...as thats just how the market operates. Clubs do not want to look like fools by just giving a talented players away for a cheap price. OH wait, Milan just did that with Gourcuff.
Also, can you blame a club for selling its players with the highest price possible? We might think that Luis is too much for 20mil, but people at ManCity, ManU and even Chelsea might think thats a bargain.
It all depends on which way u r looking at it.

As for the defense, don't worry, Milan already signed 4 new defenders for next season.

And also what mrki said some time ago that I agree with, is the thing when MGT said that Milan will fight for the CL qualification next season, they should all have been kicked out of this club.

...of course, you can not fire "the boss" 'cause unfortunately it doesn't work that way

Yes, we could have sold Gourcuff for 30 million had it not been for his stupid contract clause. Clever move MGT!

I hope you were joking about the defense, and I know you were. Oddo will be OK. He will offer depth and has heaps of expeirence.

We still need a full back ahead of anything at the moment. I would still rate a new goalkeeper ahead of a striker as well. Does anyone know how Abbiatti is holding up? At his age, there is a large chance that his injury may become chronic. Will we really be relying on Dida and Kalac?
