Pre-season training

I just watched a video of our preseason training. FLares are everywhere, due to rioting Milan fans...

Abbiatti is back and also luca Antonini. Wasn't Luca sold to Parma?

Galliani also mentioned that the team looks to sign young player, with an eye on the budget.....

Report: VfB Stuttgart In Negotiations With Real Madrid For Huntelaar
The German outfit have reportedly begun negotiations to sign ‘El Cazador’ and they have tabled a delicious offer to the 'Casa Blanca'…

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
VfB Stuttgart look set to beat off competition from the likes of Milan and Manchester United for the signature of Real Madrid striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

According to AS, several of Die Roten’s representatives conducted a meeting with Jorge Valdano at the Santiago Bernabeu yesterday and it is believed that they are ready to offer Los Blancos €18 million plus a further €2 million based on performances.

It is so far the closest offer to the €20m asking price set by Madrid, but although the ‘White House’ would be tempted to accept the bid, they still have to persuade Huntelaar, who is currently earning €3.8m gross per year in a contract that runs until 2013, to agree to a move to the Bundesliga.

Stuttgart are not afraid to splash out on the Dutch striker having recently pocketed €30m from the sale of Mario Gomez to Bayern Munich, but likewise, they too have to convince ‘El Cazador’ and his agent that a transfer to the Mercedes-Benz Arena is the best option for him.

Since joining Madrid from Ajax in January 2008, Huntelaar has only played 1,123 minutes of football, although he has eight goals to his name.

KS Leong, Goal.com

Stuttgart pocketed less than half of what we received form sales, and you are telling me they are going to beat us to a signing?! this is ridiculous. Did we really use up all of Kaka's transfer fee to balance the books? How did we get into such a bad financial position, if we are beaten to our targets by clubs such as Stuttgart?

It was Luca Antonelli that was sold to Parma. A LB that was already on loan/co-ownership (not sure which one) with them anyway.

By the way....did you watch the the pre-season video online?? I've been looking for a video of pre-season trainings but I can't find any!

If Milan get Bale then I'm forgiving MGT only for Cissokho's case.

Why? Bale is utter tosh. No skills, not physical. A below average player if ever there was one.

Yes, but he is a teenager. Cut him some slack. Obviously other top clubs don't share your opinion.....

We have seen this before, but there is some other interesting info. here as well:

Milan's Ariedo Braida In Brazil For Pato's Wedding... And Luis Fabiano
The Diavolo's transfer guru will take advantage of his presence in Brazil to try and seal the deal for the Sevilla forward.
8 Jul 2009 07:37:49

According to tuttomercatoweb.it, Milan general director Ariedo Braida will be representing the club at Alexandre Pato's wedding with Stefany Brito, which will be held at Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro.

However, Braida's main duty on his Brazilian trip will be to convince Sevilla's star striker, Luis Fabiano, to join the Rossoneri this summer.

It is being reported that Braida will have enough time to meet the player in Sao Paolo and reach an agreement with him for his move to Milan.

Fabiano is eager to play for the Rossoneri, but his current club are asking too much when it comes to the transfer fee.

However, the Brazilian player's desire to move could force Sevilla to lower their asking price and thus make it easier for all parties involved.

Braida will also be after other transfer objectives in Brazil, as he will evaluate full-backs Maldonado and Andre Santos, and midfielder Hernanes, who is tipped to replace Andrea Pirlo.

Oh, I thought all Milan players were crazy! Certainly not this one:

Jose Altafini: Milan Still Need A Striker
The football legend agrees with the Rossoneri fans: the team is still in need of a world-class attacker.
8 Jul 2009 07:30:55

Former Milan player and current Sky commentator Jose Altafini gave his opinion about the Rossoneri during the presentation of his new book, Futebol e Alegria.

According to Altafini, Milan are already good enough as they are, but they would be more competitive with the purchase of a new striker and the recovery of defender Alessandro Nesta.

"Leonardo is a good coach, he will do well," declared the South American to tuttomercatoweb.it.

"Despite the sale of Kaka, Milan can be competitive, but they need a great striker and the recovery of Nesta in defence.

"With regards to the Brazilians, for Ronaldinho this is the last chance: it's the year leading to the World Cup, he must return to be decisive if he wants to go to South Africa.

"Thiago Silva is very good, but he needs to prove this in a difficult league. Even for him it will be an important test."

Wishful thinking from Milan's part about lowering the price of the players if the other club is playing hardball.

IF I am Seville, I will hold on to Luis as at least 2 teams(ManU, and ManC ) are willing to spend close to 30mil on a striker. And when you look at who is available in the market, there are really only a handful of good reliable strikers. Esp if Hunter is really signing with Stuggart.

Hey Gabriel, how are you going?

Yes, it would be embarrasing to lose Hunter to Stuttgart out of all clubs. Sure, they received 30 million for the sale of Gomez, but we received over 70 million from our sales! How much really went into balalcing the books? Was our club really in such a dire financial state? We have barely spent a morsel of that money on transfers, which is quite sad.
I feel Berlu might be taking some cash for himself, as he believes that the club owes him something! Might be crazy to think, but our spending goes no where near matching the resources we now have....

"Maldonado"

Anyone know something about this full-back? We are chasing him apparently.

Roma Director Prade: Daniele De Rossi Is Staying, But Others Could Leave
The Giallorossi executive has refused to rule out that one of their big-name players will leave the club.

Roma sporting director Daniele Prade unveiled the club’s season ticket campaign for 2009-10 yesterday and subtly hinted that either Mirko Vucinic or Philippe Mexes will leave the club.

Roma are in dire economic straits, and with takeover talks still dragging on, they might have to sacrifice one of their top stars to make ends meet.

“Will someone leave? I can’t promise anything on this, because the transfer market sometimes presents unexpected situations,” Prade is quoted as saying on Romanews.eu.

“De Rossi? It’s obvious that he is staying put.”

The same could be clearly said about the other two Roman musketeers, Francesco Totti and Alberto Aquilani, so all indications point to the Montenegrin striker and the French centre-back.

Mexes insisted earlier this week that he was keen to remain in the Eternal City, but Milan’s interest in him is still strong. Meanwhile, Vucinic was linked with a move to English champions Manchester United last month.

Not bad mate, how are you?

Well the thing is that I don't blame Berlu if he really end up pocketing all those 65mil as it is his team and he really can do whatever he wants with it.
I do blame him for telling the fans, lies after lies after lies after lies though. As I think Milan fans deserve more than that, not just success on the field but honestly from its owners. If Berlu actually comes out and say that Milan sold Kaka b/c Milan cannot finance itself while adding quality players to the team, or I understand that Milan lacks quality players esp after the sell of Kaka, and it will take a few years for us to rebuild(buying and developing quality young players) and challenge on all fonts, I really hope the fans can be patient with us...
If Berlu said that, I for one will not say much and even if Milan ended up in 12 spot next season, as long as they really started to play the kids and phase out guys like Seedorf, Kala, Bonera, Pirlo, Janku,Zambro and others. I will be happy.

What bothers me and I am sure the ultras is the fact that either Berlu is stupid, or he thinks we are all stupid by saying Milan are full of champions, the squad is more talented than Inter....or Real is screwing up the market(I really don't see Berlu complains about the price Real payed for Kaka).
Those are lies and thats not something the MGT should say, as everyone in this world will treat it as a joke.
Also if Berlu do not want to admit that Milan lacks quality, he could just shut up and smile to camera then walk away instead of opening his mouth about this and that.
