Following the encouraging words of Silvio Berlusconi on Sunday afternoon, it appears Ronaldinho is warming to the idea of becoming Milan’s flag bearer next term as he looks to fill the void left by the departed Kaka.

After being cockled by the president as “a great champion”, the Brazilian was asked to promise he would lead the Rossoneri to victory following their recent overhaul.

As Milan strolled to a comfortable pre-season win against local side Varese, 'Dinho then gave his response, promising the fans that he wants to get back to his best.

“I want to have a great season and dedicate my efforts to the president,” he said eagerly.

“I also want to guarantee the fans that I have the right mentality to become a great champion once again.”

Ronaldinho also hailed the potential arrival of Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano, his fellow Brazilian international.

“It would be a great addition, he is a great player and we could form a wonderful trio along with [Alexandre] Pato,” he concluded.

Berlu should really shut his mouth. Isn't he like the PM of Italy? It just amazes how he talks about Milan all the time instead of the economic problems in Europe and Italy.

Haahahah

The Gazzetta is reporting today that Berlu asked Ronaldinho to stand on a table and promise to the all the players and staff that he would give his all and that he would behave like a pro.And he did it!

I think with LEO as head coach and the high expectations,Dinho will be back and he will shine next year,im pretty sure.

I loved that. Berlusconi might not act like a normal human being, but the things he does are incredible. He basically shamed and motivated R80 at the same time.

I have a question. Are Milan going to be first seed in the CL groups?

I think so yes. I think it is based on the results from the last 5 years in CL.

About yesterday's match..dinho was really good,he seemed having fun(lets hope he regains his motives)..
antonini was really good too,and seedorf was the third for me..pippo was as usually lethal..

janku was bad,and TS made 2-3 silly mistakes and thats what i remember from him,but in other cases he was stable..

Here is the players ratings and comments in my view:

Kalac 6,with him in goal it looked a bit clumsy and shaky he did not responded well in the one vs one situation. But still kept a clean ****

Antonini 8.5,very very solid in the back and was continually involved with the attack,he really made a good impression as a fullback and showed he can both do his job in defense and attack.

Nesta 7,you couldnt see he was a year off, didnt had much to do but when he had to do something he did it the right way.

Silva 7,despite some errors he made some good tackles and you could see his talent also with the ball on the feet.

Jankulovski,i am not going to say it was a horror show in the back but he didnt do well thats clear,in attacking phases as always involved and good runs down the flank, when we attack he clearly is a important key-figure with Antonini on the right but when we defense he cant handle it,he is a LM and we need a complete LB!

Gattuso 7.5,solid game did his job as usual

Seedorf 8,very very well performance,he had some good shots on goal and a great free-kick he was active, keep it up Clarence!

Flamini 7,the only persone who made the full 90 minutes and he looked very energetic and solid.

Borriello 7.5,maybe the biggest suprise of yesterday because despite being played as winger he still showed his potential and talent,he has much more technique and speed then we thought and IF our wingers get injured next season then we can count on him to do the job there.

Inzaghi 8.5,without giving a show he did his job AGAIN and we must count on him next season,i think he isnt that much appreciated on this forum and people are seeing him as a backup striker or pinchhitter but he can have a much more bigger role next season, especially in Spring!!!!

Dinho 8.5,despite his slow start in the first half he made it all up in second, his talent in out of this world just like that assist he gave when Pippo scored the 2-0.His actions were great and he was a joy to watch,if he keeps this up and fullfills his promise(that he will give his all),then our opponents have something to fear this season for sure.

Oh and i just would like to comment on the youngsters:

Albertazzi did a great job looked more solid in defense then Janku, would like to see him as a valuable first team member this season and i mean it,he is supposed to be the biggest hit from our Primavera according to the comments of Galliani and i want to see him in action.

And that Strasser guy....he is crazy just like Rhino, only he has a better passing etc.Motivated to the bone,if Leo was our coach a few years ago instead of Carletto then he may have already broke through in the first team and even Starting XI.Thank god Leo is here otherwise he would have been rotting in Primavera till the age of 25 and than being sold to a Serie B team,Strasser can be our future he has everything in him.

That is real gutsy and clever of Berlu. Great to see him involved...

Yet, it seems that deep inside he is really nervous over Dihno, because his lack of investment lately means everything relies on this one Brazilian.... Hope, depsite how much I despise the Italian PM, that Dihno doesn't fail and make Galliani and Berlu look stupid....

think that Antonini is definently the hier to Zambrotta for Milan, or he can be a direct replacement for Janko considering his bad form. Still it is a friendly, but I.M.O, Antonini hardly put a step wrong least seaosn, and was not given enough of a chance. He should have replaced Janko last year..... Totally underrated.

P.S To see Milan preseason training, go to the Milan Channel on Youtube. Boriello's G-string is wierd!

The same is listed on Goal.com

Despite many of you despising the source, Goal remiains for me the no.1 soccer news site.....

It is usually first with all of this news, and has plenty of exclusive content.

i agree with you, goal seems to be more reliable now than it ever has, it makes me smile when people find articles from the sun or the daily mirror and panic like crazy but then dismiss goal as a valid source

i agree that he should have been given more chances,at least against
''small' teams..janku is not a defender and that is so obvious, especcially against players with good techinique..although i really like antonini more on the right than on the left..so i would place him there, and put zambro on the left who is equaly good on both sides..
