Oh sorry, let me reclarify the question. Recently, in that meaning the last three years. Is that fair to say?

Well that's been one of the big weaknesses of Berlu's reign in Milan. Since he came our youth development essentially went to pot and so the results are evident. The only "youth" product which has come through the ranks to make a significant impact at the club is Ambrosini, and technically he was brought from Cesena at 17.

Ok, thanks for the clarification, Capo Ultra

If Berlu and Galliani aim to save money, they should look to invest more money into our youth devlopment. Barca now have Xavi and Messi from their quality program, and if they ever sell the,the profits made will be massive....

So in a way, MGT. has brought this upon themselves....

Well, pretty much yes. For years many have said Milan should invest in a better youth set up, but this hasn't been invested in as much as it should of. Nowerdays we're investing more but results take time, and even then I've heard arguments questioning whether we're still investing enough.

Well we should have pointed to the youngsters last year, no CL, we played Uefa Cup, so that youngsters can gain experience

In fact, we should have had a "deadweight" free team last year. After we came fifth, it was obvious that Milan needed serious rebuilding. Purchases such as Dihno should not have been made, and the "transition year" which is happening this season, should have occurred last year.....

Although, I must say, it is much easier to say such things now that it has happened. However, I always held these views, like many of you did, and therefore, I am not being hypocritical.

I am counting on Albertazzi and Abate, very very talented especially the first one,i think Albertazzi could be a starter within one season,he is supossed to be the next big hit from our Primavera team and i hope he lives up to the expectations, really like him as a player and person!

i don't know if many of you know but Davide Santon from Inter until last year was a substitute player for Albertazzi when playing for the national team. Mourinho had the guts to launch him and now he is a regular in Inter and maybe in U21 team. And what about Albertazzi - probably one more year of doing nothing with the first team and playing for the primavera... sad, sad thing... a player that turned down Manchester, Arsenal and Liverpool for Milan will be third choice after Janku and Favalli for the left back position... maybe...

Assuming that's the case, then Albertazzi will need a chance in the new season. Bear in mind he will be promoted to the senior squad for the new season.

yeah, this is the case. i have read about it on many different sites and newspapers. darmian was also a member of the A squad last year and he played like 30 minutes in the whole season. and he is the former captain of Italy's u19 and captain of the u20 team now. and he hasn't been given any chance to prove himself. everybody says he is a natural talent but nobody will give him a chance. albertazzi is even better then he is but i am afraid that he will also not be given a chance to prove himself alongside Janku and Favalli. We are talking about a guy of 18 years that is in the first 11 of the Italy's u20 team. enough said?

Not enough my friend. Even stars of U-23 is also often still not enough to play for the first team. Remember Giovinco with Juventus? For defence position it will be harder for young players to get regular chances.

maybe it isn't enough but when one player is a substitute (Santon) of another better player obviously (Albertazzi) and this one gets a chance , why not try it yourself? in Copa Italia for instance? My opinion is that Giovanco must play more for Juventus because he deserves it, just like Balotelli of Inter.
Yesterday against Varese played Janku, why not try Albertazzi at least one half? We were on the verge of spending 15 M for Cissokho, another gamble, why don't we try this solution which is much cheaper (it is obviously a question of money and how to spend it) ?
May i add that maldini got his chance when he was only 17 and this become one of the legendary footbyll stories. ok, maybe this guy is not the new Maldini but he is one of the most promissing young defenders italy has produced in the last 10 yeras...

We can not just look at if Santon was the back-up for Albertazzi or not (if what you said is true). We should look at how the club maange their young players. Big clubs are normally resistant to young players except in certain competitions like Cups. What Milan have done with Ancelotti to young players were very bad. The young players didn't get enough chances to play in Coppa Italia. So, I agree with your base of opinion.

About Janku and Chyssoko, last game was a friendly game and Leonardo couldn't do much to young players in certain position where many experienced players were availabe. But I agree that Alberzzi should get chance last game (half of game). Albertazzi and Chyssoko are in different quality even they are a gamble for Serie A. Chyssoko is more experienced, something that very important in coach decision on selecting first 11 players on the pitch.

Santon case is a bit different with Inter. He got the chance and proved regularly that he is able to play for the first team. But the case with our young player was different. Darmian was terrible in friendly game last season (I don't blame him because he lacked of official games) but this should make a big barrier for the coach to field the player in an official game.

My opinion with young players are :
1. Italian Cup games should be mostly for our young players (with some first team players combined with backup players for the first team) since this competition is not our first nor second target.
2. There are 7 subsitutes available in every official game. The coach should bring at least one young player to the Serie A games. The coach can play the player if the game has been secured for a victory. This is mostly for players that are not a big talent quality like Balotelli for example.
3. After one year having many games in Italian Cup and some in Serie A games, the players should be loaned out except they are really good and ready to step in as first backup for our first team. Other clubs (small clubs in Serie A or Serie B) should have more views about our young players since they played at least in Italian Cup and this should bring more clubs that are interested in our players.
4. The loned-out players can come and play for Milan in the coming seasons if they can prove that they are Milan material by having great season(s) with other club.
