He didn't fit b/c their style of play was different from ours...our players dribble and most times keep the ball on the floor...well except pirlo...but he dribbles and drives in...these are things Quaresma didn't do...with dinho, he can drive in...He'll help us...I hope he'll come

It is well known that Milan are desperate to sign an attacker this summer, having so far failed to make any significant additions following the departure of their former superstar, Kaka, to Real Madrid.

With their interest in Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano seemingly going nowhere, the Rossoneri have turned their attentions to a player from their neighbouring rivals, Inter, in Amantino Mancini.

The former Roma man is all but certain to leave the Nerazzurri in the coming weeks, just one season after his controversial move from the Italian capital.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Mancini would be an ideal addition to the Milan squad, as he would perfectly complement the likes of Ronaldinho and Pato in Leonardo’s new setup.

For now, these reports remain rumours, as both clubs are yet to comment on the speculation; however, it is claimed that the Rossoneri will consider acquiring the player on loan for the coming season, with the option to purchase him outright next summer.


We need a winger, and that is all I can say......

New AC Milan coach Leonardo insists he has no problems with their lack of signings this summer.

The Brazilian explained: "I am happy to start like this. What makes me happy is the availability of the players. Here there are players that I've known for even eight, nine, ten years and now are willing to work with me in a moment of change.

"This has made me happy. From here onwards we will see what they will say on the field."


I wish I had his persona.... Personally, I think Leo should be more vocal. I am sure that Carlo being an ambtious guy would have said more.....

I am at the stage where I think that anyone is better than nothing for Milan. We can longer afford to pick and choose, but rather wait for cheap market oppurtunity.... It saddens me, but atleast the basis of the squad is still strong.

I agree on his consistent International performances, yet there there is no argument that the man is far past his consistent best. If a good offer comes in, we shouldn't hesitate.....

Man, we seem to be linked to every player on the planet (except the really expensive ones ) I really hope Galliani et al have got something up their sleeves....

My 2 cents on the Fabiano debate---I think we're right to play hard ball with Sevilla. In this economic climate, Fabiano is not worth 20M. I think 15-18M would be a fair price. But with Real Madrid stepping in, they have virtually inflated all player prices. If Del Nido has the guts to call us cheap, then so be it...he'll be left with an unhappy player on his hands and no money!

Inter sell Ibra for 40 M plus Etoo plus loan of Hleb!!! That's sound WAY too much to me. Etoo alone is worth close to 30M!

Apparently, we're also linked to Trezeguet with Oddo going Juve and Dinho apparently isn't giving enough in training. This prompted Seedorf to tell him to get his act together and Tassotti reacted by saying he's the boss there.

Rick good post about our building for the future and I agree with you there. However, most of these youngsters we're getting are still in their teens. Realistically, most will not be ready for at least another 5 or so years, so we must build for the next few years with some good purchases.

What are you talking about? Beckham and Pirlo played in different roles, and Beckham's addition benefitted Pirlo as it gave him a little more space (and the team alternative options) when we built attacks.

As for Pirlo's defensive skills, we all know it's not his strong point (though he is heavily underrated by many in this area). However, tactically, he would often be the last midfielder, meaning he'd be the one left covering the defence many times. For a player with his skillset, this is misusing his abilities.

And we have to hesitate for offers with Pirlo, just like we did with Gourcuff and Kaka. He's been the most vital component of Milan's setup in pretty much the last 10 years. Kaka added spark to the side, but ultimately Pirlo was the one to run the show. We've had a lot of major changes this summer which the fans have been displeased about and more importantly the players, we need to rebuild, but too many changes is not a good way to do it.

Well that transfer would be good for Milan and bad for Serie A. Ibrahimovic is absolutly irreplaceable at Inter. Eto'o is going downhill and as far as I'm concerned he peaked 2-3 years ago while Ibrahimovic is just coming of one of his best ever seasons. Eto'o is also no where near worth 30M, his contract runs out next season and he's also a class bellow Ibrahimovic, remember Inter just sold Maxwell (who's probably as good as a left back as Eto'o is as a striker) for 5M euro's.

Hleb is, well Hleb... He's a bit of a joke, the only player that didn't manage to score in Barcelona last season, even though all his teammates desperatly tried to get him at least one goal when they were 2-3 goals up. Wasn't even in the squad in the CL final, not much to say about him.

With Milito and Ibrahimovic Inter would have a nice balanced attack, I don't really see Eto'o/Milito being anyway near as dangerous. It depends ofcourse on how they spend the 40M euro's, but unless they can get someone in the class of Aguero then I don't see this being a good deal, from a sporting point of view.

Also, Mancini, no thanks in my opinion. I didn't even think he was that special during his Roma days, so his season at Inter leaves alot to be desired for my part.

Adriano has sensationally announced that he would be prepared to join Milan, the great rivals of Inter, whom he by mutual consent last April after going AWOL in Brazil for several days. Since leaving the Nerazzurri, he has re-ignited his career at Flamengo, the club where he first shot to fame.

His agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, has dropped a strong hint this week that ‘L’Imperatore’ could return to the peninsula in the near future, revealing that the Rossoneri have already enquired after his client. The player himself has now admitted to contact being made.

“Above all, I am keen on the 2010 World Cup and then I will think about returning to Europe and joining a big team,” he revealed to the Corriere dello Sport.

“Yes, it could be Milan because I would have no qualms accepting a deal from such a big club like the Rossoneri.”

The 27-year-old has a clause in his contract with Flamengo that would allow him to walk away next January, but press reports in Italy claim that the wedding between ‘Adri’ and the Diavoli is more likely to be celebrated next summer.

Besides Inter, Adriano has also represented Fiorentina and Parma in Italy.
