Obviously we can't have Borri lining up in our starting XI next season, and clearly Inzaghi can't play all season long! So the solution? Get another striker...... If we are close to getting Fabiano, then by all means push hard and don't be ***** Galliani!
I hope they can come to an agreement on Fabiano, but it won't be the end of the world if they don't. I still believe firmly that Dzeko is the man that Milan really wants, so I can understand not wanting to overpay too much for Fabiano when you're looking at bringing in Dzeko for 20 million euros next summer. Fabiano would plug a hole for a few years, but Dzeko is more in line with what I think is Milan's long-term plan. If they can't get Fabiano, it would be fine to bring in a cheap short-term option like Trezeguet or explore the possibility of bringing in Adriano (a low-risk/high-reward option in my opinion) in January. Or they could give some of the young guys a chance to step up while waiting on Dzeko.

We need a striker ASAP,and not wait a extra year. What if Borriello doesnt find his Genoa-form or gets injured again?Wich very well could happen, then we have to rely on Inzaghi wich i acctually dont mind at all,if he was a few years younger he would have a starting spot without doubt, but he is too old to play all the games and he will play CL as well.....so we need another striker this year,no doubt.Or a winger so that Pato can play CF if Borrie/Pippo isnt a option and we can play the new man on the RW.

So we need a attacking reinforcement.

As for our goalkeeper,we dont need any,we have to wait until next year to kick Dida out and maybe Kalac to and get a fine young prospect to battle with Abbiati,Abbiati is our number one and is good enough,he never gets injured(except for last year but that really never happened to him).

In defense we only need a LB,we have to remain realistic, after renewing Favagols contract, wich i support because if we get a injury crisis again then he is the perfect guy to play the matches in Serie A he did brilliant last year, and with Gooch also we are overcrowded in CB.Nesta,Onyewu,Bonera,Kaladze,Favalli,Silva...thats six players for 2 places! So getting another CB will not be a option and crazy because we all know nobody will leave. Not Kaladze nor Bonera.....

In midfield we can use another dynamic power like Hernanes, but for me its fine if Pirlo stayes,i think Seedorf will step up his game because he has to start from scratch, wich means working hard for a starting spot.

So a attacker AND LB are needed, and then we are complete, next year we can talk about a extra defender if Favalli retires and a extra striker if maybe Borriello leaves or gets injured again. And a goalkeeper if Dida leaves

The rumours are in Italy that if Wolsfburg buy Nilmar to partner Grafite next season, then Dzeko could be given the chance to come to Milan. I get the impression this might be why we've not gone strongly for Hernanes already, even the Sao Paulo are prepared to sell cheaply. Hernanes' agent himself said that he understands Milan's hesitancy given Hernanes' non-EU status, so we're looking like we're waiting to see what happens with Dzeko.

Let's also not forget Galliani never actually said this deal is dead, and has always said he'd wait to see what would happen and would pursue other targets.

I can imagine Brasileiro will be wondering why we're not after Nilmar ourselves.

...... What the ****? 5 million dollars is the yearly wage of someone like Seedorf. You people shout and cry how we managed to get stuck paying them these ridiculous wages, but now you're pissed that they're trying to lower demands? You don't make any sense. The guy has a clause in his contract that means we can get him for 12 if we wanted. The agent is angry because his fee is based on the transfer fee. He gets a percentage of that. So if that is low, he'll get less money. Who's side are you on?

That makes a lot of sense. I hope it turns out that way and we end up keeping Pirlo and getting Dzeko (and a left back).

Wolfsburg fought to keep Dzeko i can't see there being any chance of a deal the manager is building strength and depth into the team he is not going to get rid of his star striker. Berlusconi is too obstructive when we buy players he seems to be constantly complaining about the costs of transfers and the cost of wages i can't Milan paying more than 13 million euros for any player. I think he too used to Galliani and Ancelotti working miracles for the club lets face it we are not going to get another deal like flamini or sign any young players similar to kaka for less than 15 million euros.

Someone from Italy was just telling me this. I hope this is true, but I wonder why it isn't all over the media already?

By the way, according to TMW, Milan is interested in buying Elano from Manchester City (he would come cheap and he has an EU passport).

http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/?action=read&id=162366

And apparently Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has confirmed that Milan is interested in Allesandro Diamanti (and Livorno would be looking to sign Landon Donovan as a replacement):

Quote:
Aldo Spinelli: Livorno Chasing Landon Donovan, Milan Want Alessandro Diamanti
The Amaranto patron has confirmed their interest in the LA Galaxy star, but admits Milan have targeted their crown jewel.
21-Jul-2009 4:35:50 PM

Press whispers in Italy are suggesting that Livorno have set their sights on Los Angeles Galaxy winger Landon Donovan, and the Serie A new boys’ president, Aldo Spinelli, has revealed that talks with the player’s agent are already underway.

“We have spoken with his representative, but we have to understand what his requests are and whether we can afford him,” the outspoken chief told the media pack gathered outside the Lega Calcio headquarters.

“I know the lad since he was 18, I like him very much and even though his fee would not be a problem, I believe his wage demands exceed our parameters.

“But we could arrange something with some of our sponsors in Los Angeles, just like I did with [Kazuyoshi] Miura years ago, hoping it will bring us less bad luck…”

Spinelli signed Miura at Genoa in 1994, but the Japanese striker only netted a single goal for the Grifoni in 21 appearances.

Donovan could create an intriguing partnership with Cristiano Lucarelli in Tuscany, but the Labronici could lose star striker Alessandro Diamanti.

“He is our ‘diamond’ and we want to keep hold of him,” said Spinelli.

“But we have talked about him with Milan. We have an excellent rapport with the Rossoneri and we will see for next year or perhaps even this summer…”

Diamanti is a striker.

His goalscoring record is not that good from what I remember. Anyway, 26, so still young. I think he is almost 6 feet tall.

Here is what Gazzetta has to say about our future prospects. Remember, this is a pro-Milan paper:

Gazzetta dello Sport

Queen Juve: Bianconeri in flight
Investments, the Stadium and Youngsters
Inter could balance the scales
Milan in the black
Moratti: "I am confident on deal for Eto'o"
Zenga: "I hate mediocrity. My Palermo thinks big"

MILAN: DZEKO

Yes. Supposedly, Juve and Inter are thinking about their own stadia, while Milan are not, meaning that in the future we will slide further behind these two clubs. At least that is what the headline is suggesting.
