Macheda is really someone who I think will break out next season at ManU. I actually had been watching some re-runs of EPL games and the more I watch him, the more I think he will break out in EPL. His finishing still needs improvements but his body strength and confidence are just great for a 18 yrs old.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani concedes a deal for Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano is unlikely.

Milan are struggling to talk down Sevilla's asking price for Fabiano and Galliani admits: “The deal is still ongoing. Sevilla will not lower their price and thus the deal is on standby.

"If the price is not lowered then we will not go ahead with the move."

For me, Wolfsburg's interest in Nilamr, which could mean the sale of Dzeko is interesting.....

After chasing down strikers all around Europe, Milan look set to plump for David Trezeguet.

Juventus have apparently decided to put the 31-year-old on the market against his will, and the striker looked rather tense during yesterday’s friendly match against Vicenza, even refusing to wear the captain’s armband.

La Gazzetta dello Sport today claims that Milan are ready to offer asylum to the former Monaco man. Apparently, Rossoneri vice president Adriano Galliani, along with transfer consultant Ernesto Bronzetti, met last night with the player’s agent, Antonio Caliendo.

It is suggested that Milan are prepared to sacrifice Marco Borriello to land Trezeguet, who has become the most prolific foreign striker in the history of Juventus.

Borriello returned to Milan last summer after a successful loan spell at Genoa, but was plagued by injury problems and barely contributed to the club’s cause.

Milan have turned to ‘Trezegol’ after negotiations with Sevilla for Brazil striker Luis Fabiano broke down, as the Rossoneri are unwilling to meet the Spaniards’ asking price of €20 million.

Press whispers in Italy are suggesting that Livorno have set their sights on Los Angeles Galaxy winger Landon Donovan, and the Serie A new boys’ president, Aldo Spinelli, has revealed that talks with the player’s agent are already underway.

“We have spoken with his representative, but we have to understand what his requests are and whether we can afford him,” the outspoken chief told the media pack gathered outside the Lega Calcio headquarters.

“I know the lad since he was 18, I like him very much and even though his fee would not be a problem, I believe his wage demands exceed our parameters.

“But we could arrange something with some of our sponsors in Los Angeles, just like I did with [Kazuyoshi] Miura years ago, hoping it will bring us less bad luck…”

Spinelli signed Miura at Genoa in 1994, but the Japanese striker only netted a single goal for the Grifoni in 21 appearances.

Donovan could create an intriguing partnership with Cristiano Lucarelli in Tuscany, but the Labronici could lose star striker Alessandro Diamanti.

“He is our ‘diamond’ and we want to keep hold of him,” said Spinelli.

“But we have talked about him with Milan. We have an excellent rapport with the Rossoneri and we will see for next year or perhaps even this summer…”

The Trezeguet - Borriello swap would be just stupid, as we'd lose our only physical forward and still be lacking strikers.

There have apparently been a huge number of complaints regarding Trezeguet coming to Milan, so clearly not everyone believes it's a good transfer.

If Nilmar signs eventually with Wolfsburg,i still don't think that we'll going to buy Dzeko.As < zafrul > says,i also don't think we'll buy anyone significant this summer.Even if we bring Trezeguet,for me is not such a big move.As for Diamanti from Livorno,Galliani said that it will be a interest for Milan next year.

How is it stupid? Trezegeut is physical enough and has similar properties to Borri. Yet he is just far more prolific and accurate! leo likes him:

Press reports in Italy suggest that Milan are considering a sensational bid for Juventus star David Trezeguet and are prepared to offer Marco Borriello in part-exchange, rumours that will only have been intensified by head coach Leonardo's comments this morning.

The Rossoneri have turned their focus to the Frenchman after failing to reach an agreement with Spanish club Sevilla over Brazilian international hitman Luis Fabiano, whose agent all but confirmed this morning that the transfer has collapsed.

“That’s a deal that is about to come to a decision: yes or no. But things are a bit stalled at the moment,” Leonardo admitted to Sport Mediaset.

But the Brazilian could console himself with ‘Trezegol’, who has netted 161 goals in 292 appearances for the Old Lady since joining the club from Monaco in 2000.

“We are talking about a player who has hit thousands of goals,” explained ‘Leo’.

“I don’t know how far along discussions are, but Trezeguet is certainly an extraordinary footballer.”

Milan had also attempted to sign Wolfsburg forward Edin Dzeko earlier this summer, but the German champions refused to let go of the Bosnian international.

borriello for trezeguet swap rumours really makes me sick!! I really like Borriello, I even got a Milan shirt with his name on from last season

He did good for the few games he played, offcourse it were only 5 games But to swap almost 32yo striker for him is plain stupid! maybe we'll get some money on top of it but still.

Trezeguet really isn't at all physical, he doesn't use his body to dominate opponents which is something we were crying out for in the last two years. Borriello is someone who uses his muscle much more. Trezeguet is much closer to Pippo than Borriello.

Trezeguet's goalscoring record is top notch, this cannot be denied, but getting him in and losing Borriello we don't only replace our only physical forward with a poacher (which we already have), we replace a 27yr old with a 31yr old and we still lack depth in the attacking department. A swap doesn't really improve us much when taking into consideration all these factors.

According to the media reports from early July when he signed his one-year contract extension, that's the case. Most of the newspaper stories are offline now, but I found this one:

Edin Dzeko has put pen-to-paper on a one year extension at Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg according to a report in Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung. The news should put an end to speculation linking the Bosnian hitman with a move away from Germany. Premier League sides Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City were all thought to have been monitoring the 23-year-old’s contract circumstances while AC Milan are known to have made a formal approach.

Dzeko is thought to have received a large pay rise as part of the new deal, but the most important aspect of the newly inked contract appears to be the inclusion of a minimum fee release clause. The prolific hitman will be allowed a move next year if an offer of €20 million comes in.

As for the defense, all I saw was a tribalfootball account (which is about like reading it in AS or Marca except in English ), but they're saying Milan is interested in Cagliari's Michele Canini.

Oh, and Galliani has said Boriello isn't going anywhere and won't be used in any swap deal.

I'm not in favour of a swap-deal involving Borriello and Trezeguet. We need more depth and we won't get that out of a swap like that.

Apparently Huntelaar have ended talks with Stuttgart because he wants to go elsewhere. I think that would be a good solution for us, even though it seems rather unlikely at the time.

I'm hearing Huntelaar might be on his way to Arsenal to replace Adebayor. It's a move that would make sense all the way around. I don't think Milan is interested in taking him permanently, or so it seems.

Oh, and Uncle Fester has already said Boriello isn't going in a swap deal for Trezeguet or at all. Just more paper nonsense apparently.
