Talk of Juventus striker David Trezeguet joining Milan in exchange for Marco Borriello dominates Italian papers this morning, but Rossoneri chief executive and vice-president Adriano Galliani has moved quickly to stop the rumour mill.

“With regard to transfer rumours published in the press today, Milan’s clarification, through Adriano Galliani, chief executive of the club, is clear and evident,” reads a note on the Daivoli’s official website.

“Marco Borriello is not on the market, therefore he never entered into any deals. Milan confirm he is absolutely untransferable.”

Borriello returned to Milan last summer following a superb loan spell at Genoa, but only made eight appearances in all competitions due to a series of injury setbacks.

However, Milan are still expected to open talks with Juve over ‘Trezegol’ who is valued by the Old Lady at around €10 million.

Milan have laid eyes on Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner amid reports that the deal for Luis Fabiano is on the verge of failing.

Fabiano's agent Jose Fuentes claims Milan's attempt to sign his client has collapsed. "I think the deal for Fabiano has failed," Fuentes told Sky Sport Italia.

Tuttosport are reporting that the Rossoneri have now highlighted the Gunners' striker as an alternative to the Brazilian. Bendtner has not been a regular starter at the Emirates, but Emmanuel Adebayor's move to Manchester City suggested the Danish international would earn more playing time.

However, Bendtner may now find himself the subject of Milan's desires. Voices in Italy claim the San Siro-based side are expected to make their interest known. Last month, the Rossoneri made contact with Arsenal, but that was for Adebayor.

Earlier reports in Italy claimed the Rossoneri were looking at a possible swap between Marco Borriello and Juventus hitman David Trezeguet, but Adriano Galliani, the Milan vice-president, has dismissed those reports.

I just read that comment from Galliani,that Borriello isnt on the market,and acctually it makes sense,we need another striker,if we lose a striker(Borrie)and bring in Trezequet.....then we still lack a striker.So the exchange doesnt make sense,if Borrie goes Galliani has to bring in two strikers,one to fill up the void left by Borrie and the other would have come anyway.

So i knew it wouldnt happen,i think we will chase after Trez,but we will insert Oddo in the deal im pretty sure Galliani is going to do this.Oddo isnt needed anymore and Leo isnt seeing him as a starter,and we have Antonini and Zambro for RB,so i hope the deal will succeed.

Also,Milan tifosi are not happy with the possible arrivale of the Frenchman,because he is a Juventini and has some physiqual problems.

Tuttosport are claiming that we are going after Bendtner if the Fabiano deal doesnt go through,dont believe that acctually,he is pure crap he played some horrible matches for Arsenal this season,its incredible how a guy could miss so many chances in one match,and Tuttosport is full of crap so just a one-day rumour i guess.....and hope!

Don't be harsh on Leo, as he was probably asked question about the quality of Dzeko, Luis and now Trez by the press in different times. What can he says, he sucks or he is a good player but I don't want him in Milan...

If it is a GOOD EPL striker vs GOOD Bundesliga striker, yes, indeed I will choose a GOOD EPL striker.

But, Bundesliga PLAYER OF THE YEAR vs a below average EPL striker who only happens to be in a little-bit-more-than-mediocre team.... I'd take the former at most time.

Except if we could get the latter for free plus offloading Oddo or Kalac to Arsenal.

There have apparently been a huge number of complaints regarding Trezeguet coming to Milan, so clearly not everyone believes it's a good transfer.

Yeah, it's a deal fans from both clubs would hate.

On one side you have two players who missed huge part of the last season due to serious injuries so neither Juve nor Milan can feel safe.

Trezeguet is of course the better attacker of the two, but with one injury in every 2 and a half years ratio and soon to be 32 he's a huge risk for Milan. Then his huge salary must not be ignored. He's paid 4,5 mil in Juventus and being concidered a world class striker he won't accept anything less for that.
These are the negative aspects looking from Milan's side. Also, Borriello offers something else than Trez in terms of team play. Trezeguet, more often than not, is not useful at all without any service. Borriello can do things by himself, can open spaces and is better suited for faster pace.

From Juve's fan perspective, Trezeguet is a legend while Borriello is a one season wonder, who even in that particular season scored less goals than Trezeguet. Missed last year with a serious injury, was never any good apart from his season in Genoa, and was even banned from playing football 3 seasons ago. With healthy Trezeguet Juve can be sure of scoring many goals, while healthy Borriello does not guarantee that. Juve don't have a pure striker apart from Trezeguet. Milan already have Inzaghi.

There is a positive side of course. If Trez stays healthy Milan will get a goal machine.
Juve on the other hand will get rid of Trezeguet's huge salary and in Borriello they will get a player ready to sit on the bench instead of creating problems when he won't start the matches.

As you can see, there are positive and negative sides to this deal, but the negative overshadow the positive.
