Why do you bold all your posts?
Bolding the entire post like that does make it very difficult to read. I'm sure a lot of people just skip over it.

Milan will not play like that. That is Carlo Ancelotti's Milan. In Leo's sistem we'll look like this:

-----CF---Pato---
-------Dinho------
-Pirlo/Seedorf-Flamini-
-------Gattuso----

--------back 4-------

Either way, it's still a 3 forward, 3 midfield team. Plugging in Huntelaar as the other CF would be just as good.

That still looks a lot like Carlo's Milan. Except for Pirlo and Gattuso swapping positions.

And yes, Huntelaar would still fit in as the CF

Why would you assume that it's going to be a simple switch? I'd rather it be 2 destroyers behind Pirlo. That way, he can face forward and not be afraid of losing the ball, because behind him are Flams and Gattuso waiting to bite off any loose balls. We all want Pirlo to move further upfield, and the only way this would work is if he's supported by a lot of muscle. He will lose a lot of balls facing forward, just like Ronaldinho and Kaka. There has to be someone to clean up the mess.

I also like the triangles in this:

---------------Dida

-------Nesta------Thiago Silva
Zambro-----(Hernanes)-------------Janku
-------Gattuso-----Flamini
--------------Hernanes
-----Pato-------------Ronaldinho
---------------Dzeko

Hernanes would be forced to run a lot, and cover the ground that Pirlo usually walks around. I think he can do it.

Edit: Maybe it isn't clear. What the formation above shows is that Hernanes would play like Pirlo used to when we recieve the ball and when we counter, but if we assume longer possession, he'll move up and act as a trequartista.

That formation failed in the friendlies. I think that's why Leo changed the formation back to our usual formation : 4-3-1-2.
The problem with 4-2-1-3 like you wrote above was that Seedorf (the key player infront of two DMs and behind the 3 forwards) was totally dissapeared. That made a big hole in our play (Hernanes position in your post). Plus the two DMs couldn't move forward to build up the play (to take Seedorf's job to playmake the game) since their task was more to defend the midfield area than to support the attack.

Leonardo could try the 4-2-1-3 formation again when Pirlo is fit and I hope Pirlo will be performing a great playmaker in that position.

I wouldn't really trust anything that comes out of these friendlies. But I agree, it should all become clear once Pirlo (and Pato) have played a few games.

Also: http://www.football-italia.net/jul24n.html

Ibra signs for Barcelona.

Congratulations. Serie A is now a competition again, after 4 years of total Zlatanopoly.

I've only seen highlights from our friendlies but from what I've seen the lack of numbers getting forward shows that Leo's plans haven't been taken on by some players, and that fact that we are still conceding certain types of goals shows that concentration levels are still the same as they were under carlo for last few seasons. This is going to be a long season, even if we do sign the 4 or 5 players we still need.

Personally I don't see why Huntelaar was so far down our list really. I think after Dzeko he was probably the best option available. He's not as physical, but the man clearly can score a lot of goals and would work pretty well in Inzaghi's role.

I won't comment yet on Leo's tactical plans. I think right now it's looking quite mixed up due to us lacking our key players.

Don't really know why some of you are saying Inter is weaker than last year without Ibra but with Eto. Eto is the type of striker that JM knows how to use.
On top of that the 45mil or so that Inter receive will most definitely goes into Cassano and other players.

Ibra is a player that carries the team no matter how bad they're playing. Etoo can't play on his own. That's a huge difference.

How many times have Juve and Inter won games they had no right to win simply because of Ibra?

They've both also had referee help during that time too.

after dzeko, huntelaar does seem like the best option. he is like a more complete inzaghi

Don't get me wrong because I think Inter made out like bandits getting such a huge sum plus Eto'o, who is one of the best goalscorers in the world. But it's all going to depend on what they do with that big chunk of money. Eto'o doesn't have Ibrahimov's creativity, his dribbling skills or his ball skills. He depends on having creative midfielders to get him the ball so he can use his tremendous finishing skills. At Barcelona, he had guys like Xavi and Iniesta to create opportunities for him. The current midfield at Inter isn't that creative. They're good players, but they're a far cry from being able to create opportunities like Xavi and Iniesta. It's possible Eto'o won't get nearly as many opportunities at Inter and he might not score goals at the rate we're accustomed to seeing. Ibra was the creative force for Inter and I'm not sure who they have that can take up that slack. So I can see a scenario where Inter might actually struggle to score goals at times. Hopefully, that will be the case. It would be very nice if Inter decides to target all that money for debt relief since they already held about half of Serie A's debt and made a couple of expensive purchases this summer.
