Perhaps you forget the fact that Bale is quite young still, and has laready received a high repuatation...... He wouldn't come good short-term though!
As for the Hunter story, it must be fake..... Why wouldn't milan already have got him if he cost a mere 10 million?

Gabriel Paletta
The transfer saga involving Boca Juniors central defender Gabriel Paletta is set to come to an end, when the 23-year-old joins up with his new Palermo team-mates on Monday.

The deal had been put on hold in recent weeks, as the Sicilians had reservations about his physical condition after he spent six months on the sidelines due to a knee ligament injury and also sustained an ankle sprain in May.

But Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini insisted this week that all their doubts had dissipated and Boca’s technical director Carlos Bianchi has now officially ratified the transaction.

“We have received a fax from Palermo requesting an ‘onerous’ loan deal for Paletta,” he is quoted as saying in ilcalciomercato.it.

“We have accepted this offer and the player will arrive at Palermo’s training camp on Monday.”

Paletta will be the third Argentine to move to the Stadio Barbera this summer, after Nicolas Bertolo and Javier Pastore.

Vince Masiello, Goal.com

Now Palermo are big-spenders comparing to us! Forza Milan!

Hey, but he is leaving due to monetary reasons. If Man City aren't willing to pay, what is wrong with the player? Knowing Elano, he should be of Milan calibre, but are they telling us everthing just like the Hernanes case? I am skeptical. Also, Man City won't be happy to negotaite with Milan bcs of the Kaka deal..... Perhaps we could get rid of Dida and his high wages through Man City?

Pato hopes for new AC Milan contract talks
26.07.09 | tribalfootball.com
Alexandre Pato is keen to open new contract talks with AC Milan.

A target for Chelsea, Brazilian striker Pato said: “I have not yet discussed extending my contract with Milan, but if we all think it is a good idea for me and the club, then we will sign a new deal.

“Who will be the new Pato? There is only me until three or four years from now when my wife will bring another into the world.”

Alessio Secco: Juventus Will Not Sell David Trezeguet To Milan

Milan’s search for a new striker has been dealt another big blow, as Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco has made it clear that the Rossoneri have no chance of landing French ace David Trezeguet.

“We have not received any offers from Milan as yet, but it would be rejected anyway. We will not sell him to Italian clubs,” Secco revealed to French newspaper L’Equipe.

Press reports have suggested this week that Milan had turned their focus to Trezeguet, after failing to reach an agreement with Sevilla over Brazil international hitman Luis Fabiano.

The Diavoli were reportedly prepared to offer the services of defender Kakhaber Kaladze in part-exchange, but their proposal was resoundingly turned down by the Old Lady, who instead wanted striker Marco Borriello.

But Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani released a statement on the club’s official website insisting the Neapolitan marksman was not on the market.

Juve are hoping to get at least €10million from the sale of Trezeguet.

Giuseppe Mascara: I Would Only Leave Catania For A Top Club

Giuseppe Mascara
Giuseppe Mascara has become a cult figure among the Catania faithful since helping the Elefanti return to the top flight in 2006.

And despite this summer’s exodus from the club, he has decided to stay put and extended his contract until June 2013 earlier this month.

“Several players have left and some of them were like brothers,” Mascara confessed to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am disappointed they are not here anymore, but this is football.”

The striker, who grabbed plenty of column inches last term after netting a series of wonder goals, has also been linked with a move away from Sicily but admits he would only be tempted by one of the top sides.

“It’s pleasing to be on the radar of other clubs, but one of the top six teams should come forward for me to leave Catania,” he explained.

“My ‘impossible’ goals? I know they always ask more of me and I can only promise I will keep trying…”

Vince Masiello, Goal.com

HE should be considered. Seems to me that many players are slipping under our radars. Who said you had to spend 20 million for a striker when you can get buddign stars at cut prices? I am dissaponted that Brazil, a country that Milan has been able to find many great talents in the past, has given us nothing this mercato. Maybe bcs Leo is no longer scouting?!

David Trezeguet's agent claims the Juventus striker is ready to take a pay cut in order to join AC Milan.

Trezeguet has long been linked with an exit this summer, with Lyon, Roma, Rangers and Manchester City reportedly interested in the France forward.

Milan are in the hunt for a striker following the sale of Kaka and after failing in their latest bid for Sevilla's Luis Fabiano and Antonio Caliendo believes his client would be prepared to reduce his salary to move to the San Siro.

"Of course he would,'' Caliendo told Corriere Dello Sport. "You can always find a solution when everyone shows good will.

"Milan is worth a sacrifice, David is ready to come meet the demands of his possible new club.

"If a similar hypothesis was made official, we would have no problems in negotiating with Milan.''

Caliendo was spotted dining with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani last week, while Rossoneri coach Leonardo admitted he would welcome Trezeguet into the squad with open arms.

And the player's agent believes this could speed matters along.

Caliendo said: "Leonardo and the club's appreciation of Trezeguet represents a undoubted encouragement to discuss things reasonably.''

Trezeguet endured a difficult campaign with Juve last term. A groin injury ruled him out for part of the season and he was unable to earn a starting place under former coach Claudio Ranieri.

The 31-year-old who has been at Juve since 2000 and is under contract until June 2011, scored one goal in just two league starts.

What? This is contradictory of ealrier reports~!

Milan Turn To Arsenal Striker Nicklas Bendtner As Luis Fabiano Move Collapses – Report

So this is supposed to be the man who will replace the iconic Kaka for AC Milan? This is the player that will fill the back of the net for the Rossoneri? Arsenal fans will hardly be able to contain their joy if this move goes through. But the switch won't materialise when the Milan braintrust look at the tape of the Dane's performance in the Carling Cup loss to Burnley last season.

Goal.com

Couldn't agree more. A loan deal would be good though!

If Elano really is available for such a low price, lets pick him up!
Maybe we wont get a CF, but we can get far more creativity in the midfield.
But I do not know to what extent this rumor is credible.
Also, as others have said, if the oil sheiks of Man City arent willing to pay for his demands, I doubt our salary cap of 4m per year will be very lucrative.

Leonardo and Gattuso have publicly said they want reinforcements (milannews etc.).

So, in a way, this is good. If we get no one by September 1st then the message will be clear: Berlusconi is not interested in having a competitive Milan that requires even a bit of investment.

In that case the best thing that can happen is that we finish below sixth or seventh place. Further, we should then get crushed in the CL group stages. Total humiliation will maybe, maybe change something. We managed to screw the Cissokho deal up. What other blunders await us?

I feel for Leo, trying to build a competitive team with mediocre-poor raw material in defence. If they think he can even approach Guardiola's achievements, then he should have at least half the team Barcelona has. Who are we kidding? The team, as it is now, is just not good enough. At least get us a fullback.

It's good that they're publicly saying this, as hopefully it will put a little pressure on the management to deliver. The truth is though, are we really good enough even with a new CF and fullback? If you look at the squad as a whole, it's highly doubtful.

We have 1 reliable keeper atm in Abbiati, and that's in doubt given his injury. The rest, are quite frankly, not particularly reliable at all.

The defence is in a really poor state. Nesta and Thiago are looking ok for now, but it's still difficult to say how good they'll be. The backup CB's are of very poor quality. I have no trust in Kaladze personally, Bonera's solid but that's it. Then we're down to the dregs of Favalli and Onyewu (who quite honestly, inspires very little confidence in me). I've said it before and will say it again, we're taking a big risk with our CB pairing this season and should it not be successful then we're really stuck with guys like Bonera and Kaladze.

The fullback situation is terrible. Antonini's performances are somewhat promising this preseason but he's hardly a top class player. Janku and Oddo are an embarrassment in the FB roles, and there's Albertazzi who is inexperienced (whilst I'd like to share the optimism of some that he's our Santon, I have doubts about whether he'll get any chance to show his value). Zambrotta's the closest we've got top level FB and even he's a major risk in the upcoming season given his recent performances.

The midfield isn't too bad right now, and Ambro and Seedorf (I hope) should make decent backup players. Abate looks good to add something a little different to our game and I'm hoping Di Gennaro can be a decent backup. However, this is then affected by our lack of depth up front. Pippo at 36 cannot play often, and Borriello's, for all his promise is still a 1 season wonder (and even then it was a good, but not special season at Genoa). We need a forward, but on top of that if that forward fails, there can't be much confidence in our backup players.

Looking at the squad as a whole, we might be competitive, but we lack the foundations of high quality defenders in depth and same in attack, and the same in GK where we really only have one decent keeper.

I don't think we can judge Borri solely on his pre-season form. Neverthless, our original plans and what should be done is to get a new foward who has the physicue and attitude to be the center of the attack. Obviously Pato and Pippo aren't those sort of players.....
As for the wing-back situation, Oddo should leave and in come another player.... I am confident Antonini can play LB with Zambro on the right. Remember Flamini and what he can do there as well if worst come to worse!

Honestly, I think we are wasting our time dreaming about a new forward. Too expensive for MGT. A LB however could happen!
You must have options true, but every side has a core spine which the team is built around. In our case, I'm saying that Pato should be a part of the spine and is more important than Dinho.

I think the mentality here is that should something go wrong (Nesta breaks down, Thiago is ****), they can buy a player in January. In the meantime, Bonera/Gooch/Kaladze/Favalli will have to do.

I'm really worried that Pirlo is going to leave. I'd be sort of satisfied if Hernanes, a FB and a CF arrive with Pirlo (and a CB) leaving. Sort of. There are days when I think selling Pirlo is suicide, and others where I think the time is right to let go.

Watching Ronaldinho clips from the past 4 games always raises my hopes up. I think the Dinho is going to shine this season. Or maybe i'm delusional again...

Btw:

Bendtner is young and I am not sure if he is the striker we want. We want a striker who can join the team and start scoring goals. For that a player needs to be a very experienced player (at least 5 years as a starting striker) and a proven goal scoring knack.

Bendtner is none of them. Zigoni is as young as Bendtner and till now has given enough evidence that he is going to be a star in Italy in a couple of years. So buying Bendtner would be redundant.

Anyway, buying Trez is out of question now because Secco has said that he won't be sold to an Italian team.
