Why ?!
Add two players able to compete for a starting spot with them (if possible, younger players ) and it will be fine for 2-3 years !!

That would add some depth to the squad and we would keep these two experienced players who can still be amazing if properly used (using Seedorf for 35 games or more isn't possible anymore except if we want him to play like the last 2 years ... we need to rest them as often as we can and use them in the most important games, the ones needing some experience).

My vision of what could happen:
- we sell Pirlo
- we buy Dzeko and Hernanes
- we sell one of our defenders (Kaladze or someone else)
- we buy a WB

If that happens, this mercato will be a failure ... because our team needs a WB, a creative midfielder (not a CAM as it would be pointless after having sold Kaka') and a striker, but we also need the players who stayed (just compare to Inter replacements from the last friendly game ... they probably have the best roster in the world nowadays, maybe not the best first team, anyway I hope they don't have the best first team, but as an overall, it's impossible to have a more complete team I think) !!

You know how much it matters whether or not anybody here has faith in the management of AC Milan? Zero. Zilch. Nada. Diddly squat. The club belongs to Silvio Berlusconi. He can buy who he wants to buy. He can sell who he wants to sell. He can buy players over 30. He can buy players under 23. He can buy players in June. He can buy players in July. He can buy players in August. He can buy players in January. He can choose not to buy players at all. And there's nothing that anyone can say -- either on these forums or to Silvio Berlusconi's face -- that's going to change that fact.

AC Milan is a football club. It belongs to Berlusconi. It doesn't belong to any of us. It's not (or it shouldn't be) our lives. I, for one, don't need to live my life vicariously through the fortunes of AC Milan. I'm very happy when Milan wins. I'm sad for a brief time when they lose. I'm a huge fan of the club, but the club is not my life. It shouldn't be any of yours. My penis is not smaller if Milan loses or doesn't sign a certain player. It's not going to get bigger if Milan signs Barcelona's six best players and wins the Scudetto and the Champions League. So I don't know why everyone is always tearing their hair out as if each passing day is some sort of cosmic deadline that will result in a sub-atomic meltdown and the end of the universe if Milan hasn't officially signed whatever player we (in our great wisdom and decades of professional scouting experience) have decided Milan should have.

Unless Nostradamus or Edgar Cayce has returned from the dead and registered at MilanMania, not a single one of us knows what the future holds (and that should be part of the fun, actually). We still have five weeks left in the transfer period. We have a new coach who has just this past week gotten a look at his team under game conditions for the first time, which should allow him to better determine exactly what the club's needs might be. Why not let Leonardo do his job and let him deal with Milan's management? He may actually have some pull. Not a damned one of us do.

Seriously, if I let this stuff raise my blood pressure like it obviously does for some of you, I would give up watching the sport and the club entirely. I'd take up gardening or painting or something to relax a little. Some of you are going to be dead of a heart attack before you're 40. Learn to relax. Chill out. There's really no need to go on and on and on and on, droning endlessly about the management and about Doomsday. I'm starting to picture some of you as shaggy-haired old men wearing robes and carrying signs that say "The End is Near."

Fret, I don't want you to think I'm picking on you here. It's just that you asked this question and in answering I got on my soap box a little bit. Honestly, the constant gloom and doom among Milan fans gets a little old when it's all people seem to post or talk about, day after day after day. What good does it do? How does it contribute to anything? I mean, shouldn't discussing our favorite club be fun instead of agony? Don't you think it's more fun to be of the frame of mind that Milan might sign (insert player's name here) than to be depressed all the time because you're certain that Berlusconi is trying to ruin the club he owns and that Milan not only won't sign anybody but will soon face relegation? It's much, much more fun to have hope and a positive attitude. Believe me. I know.

Back when I was a kid there was a cornball program on American television called Hee Haw. They had a recurring skit where these guys laid around on a porch and sang a song that went: "Gloom, despair and agony on me. Deep dark depression, excessive misery. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and agony on me."

I think that has officially become the Milan supporters' theme song!

It's fine saying this player and that player but it's clear that berlu will not spend the necessary money to make Milan competitive in any competition bar the Coppa Italia.

Some of the links are ridiculous - Bale, Pizzaro, Mancienne, Heinze. I'm seriously doubting of some people here watch any football at all.

First of all Pizarro is an average forward that needs to be served, and the fact he scored 2 last season against us was down to our defence, rather than his qualitites.

The other 3 are just average, pathetic players with no place in Milan, even if the likes of Oddo, Janku, & kalac need to be shipped asap.

Geo: Keep in mind we can't buy both Hernanes & Dzeko - we only have space for 1 Non-EU player.

Ok so far I have learnt one thing - Leonardo is definitely no Carlo Ancelotti, he already is replying to Berlusconi and Galliani - across the press. Even though it's unclassy to do so, but he figures that the only way he can force their hand, because this way the fans know that Leo needs new players - but the management are the ones that are refusing to invest. Leo's very quick to reply to Berlusconi in saying that young players is not enough...very nice.

Let's hope he keeps up some pressure on them and so do the fans in Milan. We definitely need more than 2 players but I think they might make one striker signing at the end of August and every one will be so happy that we will forget about the rest of parts of the team that need fixing.

and to Gabriel: The coach does not just put the players out there, each coach has his own vision and own way of inspring the players. It was clear that Ancelotti had completely lost it. A change was needed no matter who it was.

I think we have potential to do better than is assumed for a few reasons...

our DEFENSE should be hugely improved over last season. our centerbacks alone will be a combined 20 years younger, and much faster. Zabrotta is still pretty solid, and Antonini is a better option that Janku. That will be a huge improvement.

This will be the year that Flamini shows that he is our best midfielder, and he will add a lot to this team. He should be a star by the end of the year.

Pato will continue to become one of the top players in the world. I see 15-25 goals from him. Ppl seem really down on Boriello right now, but he is coming of an injury, and when he reaches full fitness, he will be really solid this year for us. I see 10-20 goals from him. And Inzaghi has shown that he can still score coming off the bench. He can grab 10-15 goals for us this season.

The only big concern I have (other than superior depth) is Ronaldinho. I really don't think he cares enough anymore to work to be the player we need him to be. Hopefully i am wrong, but we will see.

All in all, I think we could have a better season that is expected.

This whole situation at Milan is pathetic and sad. Juve that played in seria b two seasons ago, have a better squad than us plus finish better than us. Come on...

Silivio is becoming pathetic we the excuses and comments. We made 100 mil form the sales this year.

I don't think it's unclassy of Leo to speak back to galliani/berlu through media considering they are only too happy to spout nonsense to media all the time. He's letting them know what the rest of the world knows. This Milan needs serious reinforcements in all areas. We our 2 injuries away from missing out of Europe all together next season - Pato & Nesta. Our wide def (all of them) are average, even zambro. Our dm can't pass that well or even press the opposition. Our AM's are slow in speed and passing, and only seem to shoot from free-kicks, whilst our main forward is being pushed to the wings to play a formation that we are uncapable of adapting too due to the thickness of the players in mid, and the lack of quality in att and wide def.

it really is unbelievable how Ancelotti was able to influence Galliani and Berlisconi compared to Leonardo, my god some Carlo signings to begin with were Nesta Rui Costa Inzargi Tomasson Kaladze and Pirlo while all poor leo gets is Onyewu and maybe Huntelaar/bendtner ouch. If we as Milan fan get behind Leonardo it should increase his managerial influence and worth to milan, this in turn will allow him influence behind the transfer policy leading to Milan being able to sign new players. We need Leonardo to have a stronger position the reason Berlusconi hired him is the fact that he had no power base and less control over policies.

I didn't say that Milan belongs to us, I know it belongs to Berlu and I know he can do what ever he pleases with it.

I just want to know how many people still believe in all those things I asked before.

And of course Milan isn't the essence of our lives, we all have families, friends and other stuff more important in our lives.

Rick you're clearly not passionate about milan. If our defeats don't bother you deeply you're a shallow fan. Kindly desist from patronizing those of us that bleed red and black. Every day i think about our '05 defeat and our revenge. You're here simply to show yourself as being a more mature and balanced thinker. Go join a book club and continue to congratulate yourself on how smart you are

Werent inzaghi, rui costa, Tomasson and pirlo all signed under Terim, not Ancellotti. Times have changed, Belusconi put money into the team back then..

my mistake inzargi rui costa pirlo and nesta were tarim signings in any case he was still able to convince berlusconi to sign top players such as redondo cafu crespo on loan kaka rivaldo etc point being it is obvious that a manager with previous experience and recognition is able to influence the management to much higher degree.

Back in the day Berlusconi was willing to spend cash. He even said he wanted to buy Dinho for € 100M. Now he isnt willing to spend. It has nothing to do with who was coach.

Right now Leonardo is confronting the management more than Carletto ever did.
