if we lose pirlo, we will need a real cm playmaker... just 1 more hole we'll have a hard time filling. Seedorf can do it on occasion but he'll be 34 by end of season. Di Gennaro is thought to be converted to that role but it wont happen overnight. ideal situation would be keep pirlo for him to learn from. looks like we'll play a 4-3-3 w/ pirlo sitting a little infront of gattuso and ambrosini instead of behind.

I hope you're right, but he's 30 now and it's unlikely he'll ever again play as well as he did at 26 or 27. He's still a fantastic player, but with the economy as it is I think Milan would be smart to consider selling him if the price is right and invest in younger talent.

if so we should purchase before we sell to garentee.... if we lose himwithout a proper replacement our 4-3-3 will be so ineffecitve... because our midfield will be as static as inters

If we change our playing style and depend more on wingers and attacking wingbacks, we may not need the deep lying playmaker. Flamini could step in for Pirlo with Gattuso and Janku in midfield, Pato and Dinho further up, and a strong targetman up front. It all depends on what formation Leo has in mind--Pirlo could be an amazing asset, but also a defensive liability if not used properly.

Unfortunately, if we get any "good" offers for him, I'm afraid Galliani would sell him..

It's about time this guy scored a free kick, even if it was horrid goalkeeping. I swear I hadn't seen him sink one in at least 2 seasons.

If we would sell Pirlo then we would just put in another hole in our sinking ship. Our creativity now lies in three players, Seedorf, Pirlo and Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho is a big questionmark as his party life seems to be still there and Seedorf have been one of our worst performers the last two years. Also with one or two injuries... Pirlo is our most safe creative players and just getting a replacement isn't easy.

also lets not forget:
We sold Kaka, no replacement, haven't used the money for him.
We sold Gourcuff, no replacement, haven't used the money for him.
Selling Pirlo and you think we will buy someone like Fabregas suddenly?

Isn't it really worrying that we sell off all creative genius players?
Also seems like Leon trust in Pirlo.

I'd say a big fat NO to selling Pirlo.

and those 3 players are underperforming like hell! we REALLY need a creative midfielder badly! even more than a striker IMO.

what we need, in this order:
-creative midfielder (Hernanes, Sneijder, D'Agostino)
-creative Second striker/winger (Rossi, Dembele) or else a striker a la Dzeko
-Fullback!
-Central def

Forward and fullback is a given. Another creative midfielder would be nice. Instead of Seedorf or kicking our party boy I could accept. Not Maestro.

Central def is the position we need a new player in least. If we buy one we need to sell two CBs and we have problems selling even one. Our starting CB partnership is already clear and we have some decent backups. Kaladze is a disaster now and should not be close to playing ever again.

And where will the money come from? Pirlo can't find all of that, as you saw that Kaka didn't fund anything but a freebie!

I agree with fullback and forward, Borriello doesn't have enough to play as a starter for me and our fullbacks are shameful. I also agree that Seedorf or Dinho would be better gotten rid of before Pirlo (at this point none of them should go unless we definitely get someone).

I agree and disagree about the CBs. We definitely need new CBs, as after Nesta and Thiago we look terrible (only Bonera provides any hope). However, you're right we need to sell before buying. Onyewu was a mistake for me and we should have sold Kaladze immediately this summer. I'd rather we never gotten Onyewu, sold Kaladze and spent a little to bring in Santacroce. Nesta's fitness is still an issue and Thiago's still a questionmark (he looks good, but has a tendency to drift out of position from what I've seen). For that reason we really need a player capable of filling their shoes and right now the best option is Bonera, which is hardly comforting.
