i dont get why, it is sneijder if pirlo goes, i dont think they both similiar games, that is if we are interested in sneijder, it shouldnt be as a replacement for pirlo, but just to strengthen our team

milan should not replace a player with a player. milan should get a player to improve the team because replacing a player with a player is total failure

If we really are interested in sneijder, i think we should go after VDV or Afellay, as i really believe Dutchies play better with other dutchies (seedorf doesnt count)

Depends on the player ie Oddo for Messi, Janku for a def, kalac for a pair of shin guards.
Obviously I'm joking about the Kalac deal. We'd have to pay for one of the shin guards.

Milan Must Show More Character - Arrigo Sacchi
The ex-Azzurri boss hopes that the Milanese outfit will pull up their socks... 30 Jul 2009 17:38:43 Photo GalleryZoom Arrigo Sacchi (Foto Grazia Neri) Related Links Teams Milan Milan were humiliated by Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening in the Audi Cup, losing 4-1 to the Bavarians. The Rossoneri have endured a string of four consecutive defeats in pre-season and their former coach, Arrigo Sacchi, commented on their troubles. "Thus far, we have seen the worst of Milan, due to a programme that was not suited to building up the team. I believe it will be difficult for them to buy players, the attack could remain as it is," he explained to Radio Radio TV. "The problem is not Pato, but that the club is constricted by the long contracts of some players." Nonetheless, 63-year-old Sacchi insists all is not lost for the Serie A giants. "In football it is OK to do badly at this time and then have a positive reaction in the championship. AC Milan should show character and not fall into a collective depression." Sacchi had plenty of success coaching Milan from 1987-1991, winning the Serie A title and two European Cups.

You know, many of us have good reason to be angry. Many might dismiss me as someone who is on the kool-aid of "optimism." However, can we just take a moment to realize what we're saying here?
I think we underestimate the importance Carlo was to this team. He obviously understood how to get results without listening to what Berlu said. To those who are cheering on Leonardo for "standing up" to Berlu, and saying that is what Carlo lacked, at least Carlo stood up to Berlu where it mattered: on the field. We have had a more congested pre-season than any of the teams we've faced, and don't take my word for it, Leonardo, the voice of the people, has said that this is a major reason behind Milan's pre-season setbacks. I have to agree. Watching Milan, we always seem tired. It's not even about how we play, it's not that we are playing badly. I've seen that, we look different when we play badly, we are playing tired. To dismiss Abate is unfair, of all the new faces at Milan, he is the one that has impressed me the most. Onyewu, honestly, disappoints me more than Senderos. However, the thing that I am puzzled about is why hasn't Albertazzi played at all? Isn't he supposed to be someone we should use this season to blood for the future? Then, I think, maybe this season will be harsh and will force our young players to rise to the occasion? Maybe Zigoni will pull a Paloschi? Albertazzi a Santon? I said this months ago, but I fear that this is true: Leonardo is no Capello, it seems we are entering a Tabarez, Zac, Terim era and I hate to say that. I have never understood why getting rid of Carlo would be good for the team, especially when it was Leonardo who would be there to replace him. To say our entire team needs a revolution is not only misguided, but also, it underrates the sort of work that has happened so far in pre-season. The major issue I have with Leonardo is that he has failed to offer a solid team formation that will be the basis for Milan this coming season. He has tried every formation except the one that has brought us success when times were tough: the 4-3-2-1. Ronaldinho was a creative force today, and the only thing stopping us from winning handily, was the bad finishing of Pato and Borriello. Onyewu continues to dissappoint, and the only full back worthy of starting for Milan continues to be Zambrotta. Antonini is inconsistent, but not in a Janku or Bonera method. It is not that he makes glaring errors, he makes a few small ones that build up, there is something off and it seems that what small errors he does commit, become bigger issues for another defender to deal with. Let's say Milan gets, Dzeko, Crisicto, and Hernanes (non-EU issues aside); can we really shift from Milan's 4-3-2-1 this season? Flamini and Abate are clearly capable of playing in the Barca-styled 4-3-3, but, Abate is not ready yet, and Flamini is only one player. Maybe next year, but this year, Leonardo needs to swallow his pride and realize that Carlo's 4-3-2-1 is not the best formation on earth, but it is the best formation for what we have. I'm not sure transfers really are the issue here, in fact, it isn't even the players we have. It's not about losing Kaka, it's about what formation we're putting out right now. There were gaps where Kaka was gone and we still played well, so let's not be melodramatic. The reality is that Leonardo seems better designed to be an assistant manager than the man in charge, and quite frankly, it is showing. That being said, had Borriello and Pato put their chances away, this would be a very different story, and frankly, that is the game of football. I just wonder, can we wait for them to finally hit form, or do we go with the formation that is safest and seems to ensure we get the results we deserve? |

Ronaldinho's match vs Boca
He looks faster, slimmer, and his tricks are actually working. If you look at the amount of through passes he provided that should have been put away, I'm not sure if things look that bleak anymore. |

I think it more of a case that commentators and supporters wanted younger players at Milan and Carlo seemed so obstructive to the thought of introducing anyone under the age of 30 to the team. Leonardo was also suppose to introduce several of the primavera side which according to most milan fans have vast hidden potiential and will revolutionise the club, personally i wanted carlo to stay but it obvious now that he left because the management were so keen to introduce the new transfer policy.
I do agree that Zigoni Di gennaro and Albertazzi are vastly talented players but not ready to full the shoes of maldini kaka and shevchenko, they still are at the beginning of their careers and will take a considerable time to reach a world-class level. i can't see the youth players at Milan being a short term solution to are problems we do need new signings the tactical situation is simple the team on paper is best suited to a 4-3-3 formation these are the best tactics that milan can use unless we sell pirlo and ronaldihno and to adapt to a different tactical make up. The solution isn't tactic we aren't losing because of a lack of innovation it more to do with the team morale the age of the players and the negativity of the tifosi. i agree leo needs to make the best use of his resources but with a miss mash team likes ours and the fact that we have lost some influential players his options are extremely limited. |

Dzeko deal could still be possible, or its about Luca Toni
Dzeko and Sneijder could improve our team for real. To me Sneijder is a hugely underrated player that can do well in Milan. Also tactically, as he is able to play in front of Flamini and Rino, while Pirlo is obviously not anymore. Aldough the best solution would be we keep Pirlo and buy Sneijder, it seems we need more money for the fictive books.
