Other rumors have it that Chelski have formulated another offer; speculated between 18-20 million euros.

Receiving this cash, we would look into buying three players:
1) a centreforward, who seems to be Luis Fabiano who Fuentes believes could be sold for € 15-16mil;
2) a sideback, De Silvestri from Lazio, available for no less that 7mil (fiorentina are offering this much) and we might slide Oddo into the offer;
3) a technically gifted midfielder. Possibly Hernanes, less than €10mil, or Lazio's Ledesma, who we could get on discount with the De Silvestri deal.

----

As much as I love Pirlo, maybe selling him would be best for the team. He isnt the same player he was some years back, and if selling him would mean getting De Silvestri and Luis Fabiano (+ getting rid of Oddo, and getting a substitution for Pirlo), maybe it is worth it?
On another note, the people at Telelombardia's QSVS soccer-show, rated Sneijder at € 13 million. I would recommend our management looks into him, as he is just slightly more expensive than Hernanes and one year older, but more proven in Europe. Maybe we could get a discount with Huntelaar (so no Luis Fabiano then).. but this last paragraph was just my own thoughts, not actual rumors

Didn't we say the exact same thing when Kaka and Shevchenko were sold? And what happened after those sales and the massive amount of cash were received? Absolutely nothing. So, no, don't sell Pirlo, not because it isn't a wise idea but because the money won't be spent on anyone or anything other than Berlusconi's sex parties.

Pirlo has apparently come to an agreement with Chelski.
Chelsea have seemingly given Milan two options: 16 million + Pizarro or just cash.. It is unspecified how much "just cash" would be, but Milan would like 18-20 million.
Apart from pure economic considerations, it would be important to see if Pizarro is of any tactical interest to Leo.

Our beloved president has spoken out to the press.

About the Pirlo sale:
Quote:
IT: "Non so niente, non ho parlato con Galliani: ho appreso anche io dai giornalisti e ne sono rimasto sorpreso'"
EN: "I know nothing, I havent talked with Galliani: I only heard this from the journalists and I was surprised"
About Huntelaar:
Quote:
IT: "Non lo conosco. Non mi risulta'"
EN: "I do not know him"
And finally, to top off the baboonery:
Quote:
IT: "Ai tifosi dico che siamo stati e siamo la squadra numero uno al mondo. Ho sentito Leonardo quando era negli Stati Uniti, va tutto bene"
EN: "To the fan I say that we have been and are the number one team in the world. I was in contact with Leonardo when he was in the US, it's all good"

They never said the Kaka-cash would be reinvested. It was officially for balancing the books. As for Sheva I dont remember what they said, but from those 45 million, I think half must've been spent (RO costed us 18-19 mil + Vogel).....

Now this cash is being taken purposely for the mercato.

Inter Set To Swoop For Real Madrid’s Rafael Van Der Vaart - Report
The Dutch midfielder has found himself on the Inter radar as the Nerazzurri look to finish their summer transfer campaign...

As Inter scour the market to find a midfielder capable of satisfying coach Mourinho’s tactical demands, it seems Real Madrid's Rafael Van Der Vaart has found himself in pole position for a move to the San Siro.
According to Calciomercato.it, the Nerazzurri are considering the option to bring in the former Ajax man on a loan deal, with the option to buy next summer.

Given Real Madrid’s desire to raise €100m, however, it is still unclear whether Florentino Perez would be happy with a deal that would only see some cash arrive in twelve months time.

With the proposed switch due for further developments during the week, it is believed Inter will look to complete their squad as soon as possible, following the failure to convince Aliaksandr Hleb to join them as part of the swap deal between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto'o.

Given the Dutchman is available at a cut price of €5m, an eventual swoop shouldn’t prove too difficult for president Massimo Moratti, should Inter opt to make the move permanent.

if this is true, should Milan also be interested, i mean 5 mil isnt alot.

Thats low/cheap even for our standards

----

The unreliable Tuttosport (article here) writes that Galliani said Chelsea offered € 8M + Pizarro (lower than other rumors), and at that offer, Pirlo is not for sale.

OFFICIAL: Edin Dzeko Extends Contract With Wolfsburg To 2013
Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko has signed a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions, ending AC Milan's hopes of signing him this summer.

Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko has signed a contract extension with the club, expiring in 2013. This is bad news for AC Milan, who had made an offer for the Bosnian which was rejected by the Bundesliga champions, but who were still harbouring faint hopes of signing the player.

"I am happy to have concluded everything before the start of the league," Dzeko said, as reported by Repubblica.it.

"Now I can concentrate on the team, I can't wait to start again with the Bundesliga and the Champions League."

Milan can now definitely scrap Dzeko from their list of objectives for the attack, which now only consists of Sevilla's Luis Fabiano and Real Madrid's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Dzeko joined Wolfsburg in 2007 from Czech side Teplice, and has scored 34 goals since then for the club, 26 of which came last season, when he helped the Volkswagen-sponsored side to Bundesliga glory.

No mention of a buyout clause and they're keeping him till 2013. Well given his young age, I guess that means we won't be able to get him next season either.

Too bad..... next!

Contract extension are meaningless in today's market. All it does is increase the price of a player that may have been near the end of his contract. Sure this means that he probably does not intend to move this summer but doesn't change the fact that for the right amount of money he can be purchased next year. The problem probably is that Milan don't have that "right amount of money".

i think milan should just say F it, and buy from Madrid, Sneijder, Huntelaar and Van Der Vaart (and maybe drenthe)(no to robben, he is too injury prone). Offer something like 30-35mil for all 3. We would get a pretty good attacking mid field and three players who have already built chemistry with each other. (20 mil froom our budget and 10-15 from the sale of pirlo. If galliani is such good friends with perez, he can make it happen for that price).

Just a few comments.

THere is no mention of Dzeko release clause, thus if he has a good CL season, his price will be more than 25mil.

I only read that Sneijder wants to stay in Real and fight for a place even with Xabi.

VDV, Drenthe, one of Diarra and Gago, Heinze(already sold), Hunter, RVN are players that Real want to sell. NO SNEIJDER.

Dzeko may move but at probably will be for another richer club or a club willing to pay 34 million euros. what contract extension does is increase the amount of power that the club has in negotiations this will ultimately increase the cost of the player. i still think there is a good chance of getting him next season for roughly 25 maybe 27 million euros but it depends on how good his season is and how much wolfsburg achieves.

I agree about the RM dutch players. I dont know there individual prices but lets say it adds up to 50mil. Offer 40 for all and we still have left over money from the kaka sale.

I like your idea.

I don't think Real will sell them for 35mil for all three. If I am them and there is still no real taker, I would just keep them for another year but won't register them in UCL. That way by Jan, there might be some desperate team who would pay the money that they want for them. Even if there is no team, it is a WC year and those three are main players for Dutch. If they have a great WC, their prices will go up.

i dont think particulary wanted to sell kaka, nor ManU with Ronaldo, nor INter and Ibra, nor Benzema and Lyon etc but they were still sold.

The thing is that, it is like a catch 22 with Dzeko now.
As if he has a great season, his value will go up.
But if he has a bad season, it might means he is a one season wonder.
