What does the fact that he is a non-EU citizen have to do with it? Also, milannews labeled him a "psuedo-fan." Were they doing this in the spirit of a non-violent sport, then I would applaud them. However, just a few weeks ago we saw fairly fervent protests from ultras, and the tone was not similar. Anyway, I agree with your assessment. This is indeed stupid. |

I can see the passion, dispear and the desperation of fans.. Its not logical what Milan are doing right now, but the situation has been made worst with the lies from the management over the years with the Mister X and we will sign a champion malarkey.
I dont think what the fan did was right but i have to to admit if i saw Galliani in the street i would give him a piece of my mind...

just wondering, but are we the only "top" club that isnt in debt? i was just reading that ManU is 699 mil in debt, and Real is 494. Top Italian team was Roma at 330, and Inter at 125. ik we are being responsible, and all, but those teams are pretty much all spending money, and can and maybe even will beat us with the players they buy. why cant we spend some money?

Please, no Baptista. He looks like a beast, but plays like something less than a beast. A lamb maybe. Anyway, he doesn't score enough for a forward, especially one that looks like a Mack Truck.

that is why i am disappointed in our transfer campaign (or lack thereof) so far. We need to spend money to compete, and we need to add a couple young and talented players, and we will be in pretty good shape next year.

So? Can't they swap Rubinho for Amelia, and then buy Dida? It's theoretically possible... they release their 1st GK, get new 1st GK, and buy backup GK. Do you understand my point here?

If the question of the club's finances does rise for the sake of longevity of the club, let me remind you that Milan is the biggest football brand in Italy. There is absolutely no shame, in a company having debt. As a matter of fact, having debt is a better option than having private ownership or public shareholders. This is because when you have private ownership or public shareholders you are at their whims and not in the company's best interests. Ownership wants to extract as much money as possible from the company whereas, in debt there is no such pressure. Paying interest on debt is more favorable than making wrong decision under the pressure of ownership. I do not want to get into finance details of MM theory and others, but trust me, there is absolutely no shame or misery in having debt. We should have no problems in getting financial backing considering our status in Italy and the backing of Berlu's monies. Even if Berlu were to sell the club, a more powerful Sheikh will rise even from his grave to buy the club. That is how nuts people are about our club. Berlu would also gain significantly from the sale as he would be handsomely rewarded. I believe that in all these years, he has built Milan as a company rather than a sporting club. We have a lot of fixed assets and sporting performance in spite of not having many world class players or spending crazy like RM. So, the point is that Berlu or Galliani cannot give the reason that they are not spending because they want to stay in the black. Milan will always find an owner who is ready to go head over heels for this club. |

@ boing boing, it doesn't matter what we fans think. The reason you and I became fans is not relevant to the public, private, debt free or debt ridden owners.
As far as the topic of this thread goes, I have no problem waiting until September 1 to make a judgment but there is little reason to be hopeful with only 26 days to go.

I have always believed and still remain hopeful that all of this balancing the book crap will lead to Berlusconi finally selling the club. If Berlusconi sells Milan, he would want it to be in a healthy financial situation as that will lead to an increased price from the buyers. He must at least show that it is possible for the team to run without debt for the other buyer to be willing to pay him a high price. Of course, once the new owner takes over, the team will be in debt again as they have to do that to win trophies, thus marking the start of a new cycle in Milan.
That is why the other teams don't have this problem. Since the same owner is going to be here anyway, why would he even bother taking on ridiculous measures to balance the book when they have to be in debt again the very next year? I don't believe this team will accomplish anything significant in the foreseable future, but I do see light at the end of the tunnel when Berlusconi finally sells the club to a new owner. It will be a rough ride as we will have to suffer terrible results, loss of more important players (Pato for sure) and even more lies, but at least there is hope. |

Real agreed Alonso fee which is believe to be around 30 million pounds, thats is another example that Milan sold kaka (56 million pounds) very cheap. Last year Liverpool set tag of 18 million of Alonso and Juve only offer 14.
now Baptista link with Milan... he's is only a crap, just wonder why Milan only after Brazilian Players?????? Quote:
absolutely agree... but how the player would come, when Berlusconi has tightened the purse strings ![]() |
