AC line up £31m bid for Cesc

By ANDREW DILLON and ANTONY KASTRINAKIS

The Sun, Wednesday, August 5, 2009

ARSENAL are braced for a £31million bid from AC Milan for Cesc Fabregas.

Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi will meet coach Leonardo and his technical director Adriano Galliani for transfer talks today.

And Gunners skipper Fabregas, 22, will be top of their target list.

Milan are ready to tempt Fabregas with a five-year contract and a big boost to his current £90,000-a-week deal.

Leonardo is determined to mount a serious challenge to rivals Inter Milan, who won last season's Serie A title.

And Berlusconi is ready to back his new man, who has stepped in to replace boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Fabregas is under contract to Arsenal until 2014 and is a prize asset in their rapidly-emptying dressing room.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure have already left the club this summer, while Philippe Senderos is attracting interest from Everton.

Moroccan Marouane Chamakh, 25, was locked in talks last night with Bordeaux to try and force a £6m move to Arsenal.

The hitman lashed out at the French champions and warned he would be unable to perform for them if they blocked his move to the Premier League.

He admitted Sunderland were also in talks with Bordeaux.

Chamakh only has one year left on his deal and could join any club for nothing in January.

I'm not gonna believe this!!!!

We cannot even afford 14m at the moment, let alone 30+ so yes you are right.

Haha. The meeting itself was cancelled, yet out of nowhere, it's said that B&G wanted to buy Cesc. Looks like the silly season is getting sillier everyday

Milan Preparing Double Swoop On Lazio Wantaways Ledesma & De Silvestri – Report
The Rossoneri have identified the duo as their next targets as they wait to seal Andrea Pirlo’s sale to Chelsea...

As Lazio’s wantaway trio of Goran Pandev, Christian Ledesma and Lorenzo De Silvestri prepare to watch Saturday’s Supercoppa Italiana on television, it seems Milan are preparing to rescue the latter two dissidents as they look to make much needed reinforcements ahead of the imminent season.

According to Corriere dello Sport, coach Leonardo is searching for a pacey full-back, and a regista to replace the Chelsea-bound Andrea Pirlo.

With Claudio Lotito firmly fixing both players' prices at €15 million and €8m respectively, it is believed the Lazio patron would accept a sum of €18m for the pair. Given Lazio’s interest in Ignacio Abate, the Rossoneri may also ponder throwing the former Torino winger into the deal.

Taking into account the strong relations between Adriano Galliani and Lotito, an agreement is expected to be reached should the Rossoneri push ahead and make an assault for the duo.

Given that Pirlo’s move to England is still yet to be finalised, the Rossoneri aren’t expected to make any signings until they have completed negotiations with the Blues.

18 million for BOTH? Is this a wet-dream?

Berlu, just offer an extra three million and keep Abate. I have a feeling this kid is going to be good for us.....

absolutely agree... but how the player would come, when Berlusconi has tightened the purse strings:stuckup:
Because Leonardo is Brazilian and Berlu automatically thinks any brazilian is wordclass.

Milan Hierarchy Discuss Transfer Targets At Milanello - Report
The movers and shakers at San Siro have been locked in discussion over transfers...

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani was abused by a fan outside the club's Via Turati headquarters yesterday over the Rossoneri's lack of transfer activity this summer, but a rescheduled meeting to discuss transfer targets has been taking place today at Milanello.

Tuttomercatoweb.com is reporting that president Silvio Berlusconi met with Galliani and coach Leonardo at Milan's training ground today in order to discuss the sale of Andrea Pirlo to Chelsea as well as how to reinvest the money from the Kaka and projected Pirlo sales.

The Rossoneri are ready to accept Chelsea's offer for Pirlo, before using the money to try and purchase either Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas or Cristian Ledesma of Lazio.

In addition, Milan are eager to buy a left-back, with Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale top of their list. ???? Another striker is also required, and the group are understood to be debating whether to reopen negotiations for Luis Fabiano or to approach Real Madrid for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

While Silvio Berlusconi might continue to claim that Milan are "the number one team in the world", he appears to be the only one believing his own hyperbole, as many Rossoneri fans are indignant at the lack of spending by the club after the sale of Kaka to Real Madrid earlier this summer.

With the meeting taking place, however, there finally appear to be signs that Milan will close the gap between themselves and the Scudetto favourites, Inter and Juventus.
