Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be the attacker of Milan for next season: according to rumors collected by Tuttomercatoweb

in the summit Galliani-Berlusconi-Leonardo held today at Milanello Luis Fabiano's age considered too old for the project

in the next few hours Adriano Galliani will finalise the Huntelaar affair with his friend Florentino Perez, but it seems that the negotiation is already almost closed.

Pirlo is kept, money is brought by Berlusconi, is it the first good day for us in this mercato ??

Anyway, we know we had something like 15M in our budget for this mercato, and Huntelaar can come for a cheaper fee than Luis Fabiano (who costs around 20M).
So with more money, we will be able to bring what we need, but we won't have any depth, again, and that's what we have lacked the most (depth + competition in each position).

Huntelaar would be very nice. Trying not to get too happy yet.
Is he injury-prone though? That is my only concern? Is he?

And does Berlusconi mean we will only buy a striker or other players as well?

From what he said, he gave the money to bring a striker ... that means nothing and everything at the same time, if we had 15M to spend, did he give us 5 more millions to allow us to buy this so-called striker or did he give us the price of this striker (20M or something like that) allowing us to use the other 15M for other player(s) ?

Huntelaar isn't an injury-prone player from what I know about him, he was injured last year when he arrived in Madrid, that's it ...

I would welcome Huntelaar to Milan
then I wouild welcome a bid for Hernanes
lastly, I wouldn't mind if we actually raided Arsenal for another full-back, as they seem to be really good at training them.

Huntelaar is everything we need. The poacher to replace the aging Inzaghi. Look at these stats:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaas-Jan_Huntelaar

Dont be swayed by his 8 goals in 20 appearances for Real. For more than half of those appearances he had to come off of the bench and finished extremely hot at the end of the year. 36 goals in 07-08. 36 goals in 06-07. I dont care what league that's in, At his age, it shows he can put the ball in the back of the net.

If we don't get a midfielder (now that Pirlo is staying, I doubt we will), they really need to give Abate the chance in there. He is such a dynamic player that needs to be in there from the start. He was great in the U-21 championship. Antonini also needs to be given his chance to see what he can do. If it was up to me, we'd start like this (and I know you guys will probably disagree):

--------------Huntelaar-----------Pato---------
-------------------------Dinho-------------------
---------Flamini/Gattuso----Pirlo-------Abate------
----Zambro or new LB---Silva---Nesta----Antonini or Zambro if new LB comes----

Is anyone else worrying about the GK position, or is it just me??? When is Abbiati due back? What's Dida's status?? We cant go into Siena with Kalac or Storari. Just not an option...

Actually, IF Huntelaar is our new striker (or even Luis Fabiano), I'd like to see something like:

------------ New Striker ------------
------- Pato ------------------------ <= free
---------------------------- Abate --
Ronaldinho -- Flamini -- Gattuso ------ <= Pirlo, Seedorf and Ambrosini can replace them

So actually, the new striker supported by Pato, Abate being on the right in an attacking position, supported by Gattuso.
Ronaldinho would be on the left with a kind of free role with Flamini near him.
If we play Pirlo instead of Ronaldinho in this formation, he has to be less on the left but still on this side of the pitch with a free role too.

For me, nowadays, we can't play both Ronaldinho and Pirlo on the pitch as the defensive tasks won't be that much done by one of them if not both.

But "big" isn't the right translation, as I think he said "grande attacante" not to describe the size of the striker but more the level of this one.

That player is VEIRI or TONI, jhahahahaha.

Can't believe Pirlo is staying, I guess Chelsea's offers just not acceptable.

In English, when you say he is a "big" player you don't normally take it literally. Normally, "big" connotes the caliber and/or quality of the player.

As someone mentioned, the big (great) striker appears to be Huntelaar. Who knows...?

I thought that wasn't possible to do so in English (we do it also in French actually) ... so sorry ^^
