Look at the teams we could potentially be drawn against for the play-off games (given we'd be taking the non-champions path) just to get into CL proper:

Arsenal FC (ENG)
Olympique Lyonnais (FRA)
Club Atlético de Madrid (ESP)
Sporting Clube de Portugal (POR)
Celtic FC (SCO)
Panathinaikos FC (GRE)
RSC Anderlecht (BEL)
VfB Stuttgart (GER)
FC Timişoara (ROU)

over half of these teams couldn't be taken lightly.
Beside Stuttgart and Timisoara(never heard of them actually), the others are really tough teams. And quite frankly, I think the Milan team now will struggle against them, heck I think even Barcelona will struggle against them.

The problem is, mate, that those teams aren't even IN CL yet.
You'd have to BEAT one of those teams BEFORE you get in.

To me, if Milan is to sign a new FB, he must be a huge upgrade from Antonini and Janku, if not, it is a waste of money.
All these talks about De SIlvestri is unreal, as the games I had seen him play since three yrs ago, he is not impressive at all. Quite frankly, he is overrated.
it depends on how u look at it, as i said offensively i believe drenthe is better than all the players you called, but the problem that comes on to questioning is his defence, where is would be the worst option.

Milan battle Man U
Swedish starlet Linus Sjoberg is in the middle of a tug of war between Milan and Manchester United over his future, according to his agent. The much vaunted 15-year-old midfielder is currently on a week-long trial with the Premier League champions, but Per Jonsson claims the Rossoneri are also very interested in him. “Milan have also declared their interest, that is correct,” said Jonsson. “We chose to let him start at United, but Milan is also an option. They think he is extremely interesting and are impressed most by his technique.” The youngster himself is enjoying his spell with United. “It’s wonderful. Really cool to practice with United, it’s the biggest club in the world.”

aside from Arsenal and Lyon other teams are average.
If Milan struggles against them i dont know what will happen when well have to face Barca or Manu again.
6-0 ?

Arsenal are trying to sell Eboue.

Another option is to exchange Boriello for Santacrocce. Boriello may not get the time to show his worth now and while it would be nice to have a target man on the bench it would be a hell of alot nicer to have Santacrocce on the pitch.

Boriello is Naples born too, so they would be well up for taking him and if we offer a little bit of money on top we could have a our Nesta replacement ready, while he playsat rightback until Nesta retires.
This is a very good idea.

When Galliani was asked whether the market was closed today, he smiled and evaded the question.

Milannews speculate Drenthe or De Silvestri as our next fullback. I have not heard good things about Drenthe's time at Real.

Fiorentina will announce two new signings tomorrow, for all De Silvestri fans let's hope it's not his name that Viola will mention...

Borri for Santacroce would be a good trade for both teams, as the players probably have a similar market value.

But we got Huntelaar because we lacked depth up front.. selling Borriello would just put us back to the start... although we would have a class defender...

Now let us hope Kaladze wants out.

we could potentially get a decent backup striker either on loan or for a small fee. Santacroce would make our starting 11 much stronger, and he is a signing for the future as well as the present. Also is we get desprate in the winter we could always try Adriano.

As I posted earlier today, De Laurentis has publicly said he told Marino to get rid of players as he feels they have too many that aren't needed. Personally, I think it might be possible to get Santacroce without swapping anyone.

the best news is yet to come, i dont know how reliable is the le republica, but it claims that we are going to trade Kaladze for De silvestre . if this happens i would forgive the management for kaka honestly .
Maybe you didn´t notice my friend, but in my first post I said I would support Huntelaar all the way if he became a Milan player. But I would be lying if I wrote here that I was glad with his purchase. As I wrote, I hope he proves me wrong.

I even support Crespo(never rate him) when we chose him...there´s no problem to support Huntelaar that appears to be a nice guy also.

I strongly disagree mate. Athletico Madrid and Sporting are both strong sides with good squad play. On a good day, they could even give Man Utd a run for their money. Pana are a force to be reckoned with at home, and so too are Celtic (if you forgot, it took us a wonder goal from Kaka to settle the tie over 180+ Minutes the last time we met - in 07). The fact that Celtic have broken their duck away from home as well makes them really dangerous.

Potentially, thats 6 teams that could give us a run for our money.

Add to the fact that any of the top 4 from England could potentially end up 4th, same going with any of Barca, Mardid, Valencia or Sevilla in Spain, and that pretty much shows how tough it will be in the coming years for even a 4th place spot.

Top the fact that we have to contend with teams like Palermo, Fiore, Roma, Napoli and Samp for that 4th place spot, theres always the possibility that we could even slip out of that position as well...

So, because I don´t think Huntelaar is that great as you I´m a fool? Nice way to defend your point...A guy can´t lead Ajax to a champion, and is a bench player at Real Madrid(and not wanted by the new coach also), is a proven player? Because he score against Inter one time? You can say he could prove himself at Milan, fair enough, but until that day, Huntelaar will continue being a promise, period.

Look, since you talked about being a fool, if you were here for more time, you would not commit the error to wrote that...how I can say? "Unfortunate" first bold sentence...

Where are you when I wrote here that Tiago Neves, Jô, Alex Silva, Rafael Sobis, Dentinho, Juan Maldonado, André Santos, Lulinha, Oliveira, Breno, Adriano, Keirisson weren´t good choice for Milan?? Several repectable poster here were high on Sobis, T. Neves, keirisson and I always stand that despite te fact they are Brazilian, I really hoped that we didn´t buy them...

Where are you when I said that Mascherano(and Argie) was the player that we need to buy from South America? And Aquilani? And when I wanted Shweinstiger(sp?) and few agree? So, before make assumptions like that, you need to know what are you talking about. Before call others fool, watch your back, because the one make it of himself isn´t me...

Learn to respect a different opinion...and if the time proves you right and thet other wrong, come back here and have a good laugh about that.

Quote:
Not being arrogant, but the only person who can judge Huntelaar really am i,and nobody else, maybe Filipez because he lives near Limburg in Holland, but the rest of you dont know him well enough to judge, you only seen the highlights from his small Real period,i only can judge because i know him by far the best and im telling you guys,he is simply the heir of RVN.
Sorry, but your statment sound arrogant. You think only you had a chance to watch Huntelaar in Eredivisie? Maybe before he goes to Ajax, because after it, he was every week in a Brazilian television playing for Ajax.

Since he came from the other team(Hereveen? can´t remember the name) in the middle of the Eredivisie to Ajax I saw almost all his game but his last season at Ajax. You clearly don´t know, but ESPN and ESPN Brazil always showed Ajax and PSV games here in Brazil. Ajax has a great numbers of fans here in Brazil. Damn, even my brother-in-law is a Ajax fan...Also, since the game were(is) showed early in the morning here, I always wake up to watch it. ALWAYS! Even because at that time(7 or 8 in the morning) there was no football on TV besides Eredivisie.

Holland NT also, because Brazilians like the way "The Orange" play football and we always have a channel showing their games here. Even the friendlys. So, besides Herenveen´s time, you can´t say that watched Huntellaar playing so much more than me...

You can desagree with my opinion, as other repectable poster often do it here, I have no problem with it. But until I saw Huntelaar perform against big competition in a regular basis(his goals in Madrid, Holland NT were against weak competition) I will go to allow myself to not believe he´s the new RVN.

Even if by that, I will be called fool by someone that don´t know me...
