It looks like Milan have their plans set on De Silvestri, and we will possibly start negotiating once Lazio return from China. Rumors have it that we might be putting Oddo or Abate (hopefully not) on the plate to lower the 7 million euro asking price. The complications for Oddo are that 1) he is old, 2) his wage is too high for Lazio and 3) he doesnt have good relations with Lazio president Lotito.
On the same article on Sportmediaset it also said that maybe Kaladze, who is looking to leave Milan, might be inserted into the negotiation.

I don't mind with Kaladze included to Silvestri transfer (should be without no pay for Milan IMO) since Kaladze earns same as Pirlo (4 mil euros per year but this also could be problem for Lazio to sign Kaladze.

Even if Vargas is not indispensible, it doesn't mean that we will come cheap to Milan. They will make us pay at 15 million euros for him and judging by our measly transfer campaign, do you suggest we will be willing to pay that price. I don't think so! Vargas is not as good as Santacroce and there are alternatives available so I wouldn't know why we would go after him at that price.

If someone could have, then they would have signed these guys considering their quality.

If you weigh Kaladze's 12 days of a ludicrously organized pre-season against his years of quality and experience to step-in whenever needed and without complaining then yes you are right. Last year was not so good for him, especially the derby, but he is still much more experienced that Onyewu and that is why he should start ahead of him. That was my argument. Also bear in mind that he was injured last season.

In that CB argument, I was saying that we don't need to buy a CB now that we have 2 new players. Of course, Leo will use these CBs as needed during the game. If there is a striker in the opponents team who is menacing with his headers, Onyewu would pitch in, if Nesta and Silva fail. If there is a need for a regular CB, if Nesta and Silva fail then Bonera, Kaladze or Favalli will step in.

I think he found one of the old ones. One of the first articles on milannews was saying that it's a done deal linking to qvts.it or whatever that web-site is called. sadly, Oddo claimed that the rumors were false afterwords.

That will not work, as simple as that. With Pirlo pushed up forward, alongside Ronaldinho, we'd have two defensive (or defense-minded) midfielders with lack of technique and passing ability and it would be very hard to organize play that way, especially as none of our center backs could organize play (of course, there's no liberos anymore ). Barca can play with Toure in front of defense because he's a decent passer and he can cross the halfway line with a ball quickly. We simply cannot work without either Pirlo or Seedorf in a center of midfield.

As for Dossena, I agree with Christian, he's even worse defensively than Janku, it would be a mistake to splash cash on him.

I've been on a vacation for a week without Internet and I can see something is happening in Milan at last.

...although...come to think of it, we've only traded Kaka for Huntelaar.

i m glad we got kjh,i d prefer luis fabiano,but ok..
we now need at least a lb(gk,cb and medfielder too,but thats too unrealistic i guess..

guys although i am not usually optimistic,i feel that antonini is developing to a g8 player,honestly..although i d still like the proposed swap oddo-de silvestri at any case..

Leo also droped hints that a player could arrive,Galliani also dropped some hints.Leo said he still needs more then the current team.

We should stop talking about a new CB because it aint happening,why do people intend to talk about Santacroce and other fine CB's while they know we wont get anything in that departement,we need a CB sure,but after getting Onyewu the MGT wont get another CB.So stop talking about please,its really not going to happen,the earlier we really realise it,the earlier we will prevent dissappointment when the mercato closes.

A new FB will arrive for sure,and i wonder who it will be,the Oddo-Silvestri swap would be really great,but i doubt it will happen.But i am just glad at least a new FB will arrive.

I dont know about the midfielder issue,maybe Berlu will suprise us,maybe not,we are not linked with a midfielder because we are chasing a FB i think,but after Pirlo stayed,a midfielder will maybe not come.I am fine with that,with Janku moving to midfield we have enough options.

I also dont get the talk about wanting a new goalkeeper,Dida will not leave,is it so hard to wait another year,Abbiati will probably miss some matches,but he will be there for us this season,and since when we have dropped faith in him,he is a world class goalkeeper and he proved it last year,we all thought he was just a second-string goalie but he saved our asses more then once,and with Dida as second goalie we are fine,just wait till his contract expires next season then we should by a new young goalkeeper(Marchetti Please!!)But for now we are fine.

A LB and we are competitive on all fronts,im sure about it.
