And seriously, Mattioni only played like 15 minutes of official football for us, at the very end of last season, out of position I might add (right midfield). Can anyone really say he's not good enough to make the grade under those circumstances?

It could have been a management thing, it could have been Carlo playing favorites, or for all we know Berlu demanded a minimum number of italians on every match or something. I say, we never gave him much of a chance.

thats HARDLY out of position....he was a right wingback/winger. He couldnt defend so playing right midfield made more sense. serginho did it....The thing that got me was even in attack he didnt look impressive (and i'm basing this off a friendly i saw him play).

You have to realize he is 21 and not even capped for u21 national team. Players like rafinha and patric to him. Apparently he really only had about 1-2 months of form with gremio then immediately tried to leave for europe. I'm sure he has some skill but he's far from ready

i don't but the 'management thing' Carlo made it clear, he makes the decisions. It got him let go to a degree, deciding not to play ronaldinho. Carlo isnt an idiot....he was dying for a fb, and prefered to play flamini out of position to this kid.

Di Gennaro is not a backup for Dinho. We have no backups for Dinho, actually, which worries me a lot.

We have just got to ride the wave that is Milan some of you guys have had great ideas and suggestions.

But at the end of the day there is nothing any of us can do , at the beginning of the mercato I was hoping that at least 30 - 40 million would be spent.

But in reality we have only spent 6.5 million on Huntelaar with the rest to be paid next season.

Onyewu is really nothing and I hope that there is an end of mercato blitz where we get a midfielder and a LB.

But if it dosn't happen Il treat the season as every other with passion and excitement.

I am pi$$ed with management but evem though I thought I wouldn't be as passionate as before I am though still getting that feeling of a kid a x-mas when im getting ready to watch my boys play.

This begs the question though, why would Barca be interested in him now, then? One summer is hardly enough time to develop your football, given most players are on holidays and all that. What do they see in him that we did not?

Could it be that despite Milan being able to spot talented players, we don't actually have the means or confidence to develop them from a certain age (say early 20-ish) into their full potential, whilst teams like Barca do? Pique would be my prime example here, he was considered surplus to Man Utd, and yet won it all at Barca, and didn't play too badly there either.

our best player coming from our youth system in recent years is Pasquale Foggia... but he's not playing for us

His agent or agency was shopping him like a maniac. Milan got good terms so they took a chance. Certain south Americans r like that. Agents try to sell them like next cafu or whatever. He's not the first or last.

Mattioni will be just a reserve at Barcelona, if he goes there, as he was at Milan, maybe he'll play more minutes, so it's no point to make a big cause for him.
BTW we lost 0-1 to Inter, it's sad because was the 2nd game this summer against them and we didn't score again. I think Huntelaar will do good 4 us, R80 still not impressed.

Sorry guys,but i have to say,

Milan didnt give me any hope during the friendly games,as it looked Milan lost so much offensive power after Kaka's sale and replacing Kaka with Ronaldinho who is almost finished,in my opinion Ronaldinho was better than this last season.he was trying to dribble,he was trying to do something but This Ronaldinho is hopeless.he even doesnt try,he cant keep the ball undeer his feet,his contribution to us is very little.

Abate is a good player but playing him at RCM wont add anything to us,cuz he is a runner.

3rd place is very hard for us,we need Ronaldinho to have a great season,you saw him today or this summer friendlies.Did he give any hope to you?

Huntellaar will do well,i believe too.but can we feed him enough in the box?with dead wings,with finished Ronaldinho.

By the way,where is the under 23 players Berlusca talked about?i didnt read the newspaper since 10-11 days,Did Milan signed someone under 23 this time?i know we signed Roma,37 years old GK,1-2 weeks just after berlusconi said that we wont sign any 30 players.

Pirlo and Ronaldinho should have great season,our seasonal perfonmance will depent on them so much.

By the way,our defence makes me so happy.T.Silva and Nesta are the best central defence in the world.
