Fabregas played today. If we had "bought" him, I doubt he would have played.

Supposedly there are demonstrations planned for the Trofeo Berlusconi. This certainly will put added pressure on Berlusca to bring in transfers. I don't know if it will actually work though, as the guy is quite good at resisting pressure.

Fabregas would certainly be a great purchase for the long term, as he is 22 and versatile in midfield. He currently isn't an overwhelming improvement over Pirlo, but Pirlo's prime days are counting down and Cesc does have more pace. So definitely a good replacement.

Of course, let's hope at least we get some transfer announced on Monday.

VdV, Sneijder, De Silvestri...?

Of course, G Rossi would make my year

I don't know that we'll have an announcement on Monday, but I do semi-expect one sometime next week. Bale would be nice, as well as de Silvestri despite his injury. Fabregas seems like a fantasy, but like I said, I can still hope. Hell, even if we don't get Fabregas maybe B&G will wake up and grab an MF anyway.

My expectations for next season, based on the completely abject performance of the team, Leonardo's selections and player placement, are getting lower and lower.

Hopefully, we won't actually get relegated.

No single transfer (or even group of transfers into/out of Milan will solve anything in time to make a difference to the 1st half of the season's results IMO.

The problem (as I have stated before) for me, is that Leo is waaay too inexperienced to lead a side like Milan in a high pressure season, when a club icon has been sold, and his replacement still prefers a party to playing football.

The Fabregas rumor is str8 BS...there is nothing to it, and those "journalists" should lose their jobs....its so ridiculous....

As for the protests planned for the Trofeo Berlusconi.....no one should show up at all, or if they do, just protest outside the stadium....let onlyJuve fans in...the empty seats for me would speak volumes more than a few banners, which tv would prob get footage of anyway even if they were only outside the stadium..

I am sickened and disgusted by the way we have handled this summer, and the fans should all feel the same way, and by not attending matches, as a concerted coordinated protest, it would send a clear message.

As a result of my disgust with Milan, I haven't even watched much football today, didn't even feel up to watchin Arsenal, as I usually do.

Two fast players? Gourcuff is slow. SLOW. Not fast. He was not and never will be Kaka'.

That's true, I've been doing that, and if people said the people here who believe the rumors are stupid, then I have many stupid friends.

And sorry for being stupid and OOT, but does "Berlusca" have any specific meaning in Italian? Just curious.

This is probably what happens when all the optimistic people realize that despite their optimism, nothing significant has been done to reinforce us, and with time ticking away and results all going against us, it really is getting hard to stay positive :P

Bring on all the pessimistic people.

although i'll like to have G.Rossi, i'll pick Pasquale Foggia cuz he's much cheaper...and then buy more players...now what milan has in terms of the numbers of people is quantity not quality...we lack much quality especially in midfield and defense...we don't just need players we need players that can make the difference...seedorf, favalli, antonini, oddo..these players and more don't make a difference in our team

If thats the case, then shouldn't we aim at signing high quality players like Rossi rather than more squad players who are nothing more than bench warmers like Foggia? I agree with your point though, because we need to invest wisely, which means signing players who are high quality rather than bringing in a boat load of cheap has beens.

As much as I like Leo (and I do) and want him to be a huge success his comments of it will be fine don't give me much confidence we have lost 8 games in a row pre season or not I cannot remember the last time this happened.

Is it the team are not playing well not trying very hard or is Leo not up to scratch . The best thing to do would be for the fans to not enter the stadium on Monday and silently protest.

But Berlu probably expects this kind of thing so maybe will have an excuse to not show up , he seems like the kind of guy who would think if I can 't see it its not happening.

I just dont think infact I know that selling Kaka , Gourcuff , losing Sheva , Emerson , Senderos , Kalac and MALDINI + Carlo , to be replaced with Onyewu ? Roma (good move) and paying for half of Huntelaar which is 6.5 million that is no investment.

And the thing that annoys most of us fans is we do not know what is going on. If we had got a genuine answer like there is honestly no money to be invested only 5 - 10 million.

But instead we get silence and told our team is the best in the world WTF WTF WTF , Are you serious Silvio that is the kind of stuff that has us really annoyed.

If we had got the we have no money story and silence no stupid comments it might of been understandable. And then when Hunter came Berlu had the cheek to say no I demand we challenge and are successful.

This post has turned into a Berlu bashing session AGAIN ...but Im just getting worried for the season because its the 16th of August and we are in no shape for the start of the season and the Champions League.

It seems we won't be getting Van der Vaart either, he is rumored to come to Arsenal.
...maybe someone is leaving over there

One more day to find out .But if we don`t get Fabregas we really should table a bid for Vdv ,8 millions is a steal for a player like him.

Edit : Found a funny fact about one of our transfer targets ,G.Bale has not won a single premiership match

Keep hoping. That's the only thing we could do.

As silly as that rumor may be, I'm still hoping for it. Well, that's the only thing a fan can do for his team. Unless I suddenly have some 1000M. Surely I'll spend 70M of it for my beloved club to sign Fabregas.
