Hasan,
I agree, he was stifled, but, Melo was charged with taking him out and still he made him look silly, on many occasions. Perhaps Inter gave him more respect than Juve? I'd like to think that Abate made a huge difference in that he offered an attacking outlet from our midfield three. He is willing to shoot from distance, it seems no one wants to on this Milan team, and that's pretty annoying. The true test of Milan is not about how we played against Inter, because that is over. The question is how will we react to his loss? Will Leonardo make many changes? Stick with who he trusts? I think the next game against Livorno is now shaping up to be a far more important game than previously thought. |

This game might not truly reflect the gap between the two teams, but it has to serve as a great warning sign for milan. While we are not truly 4-0 bad, we do lack a lot of quality with the make up of the team. If we simply sit back and go "well, it was just one game, no big deal", then we are only going to get worse and eventually 4-0 would be the normal score for the Derby.
From this one game, we have to come to realize a few things about this team. We need to find out where the weaknesses are and then address them through the market. As an old team, we do not have the personnel to dig deep and promote from within to solve our issues with personnel, so smart market work is essential to our success, even though the management seem to think otherwise. If we continue to bury our heads in the sand and pretend everything is ok, then we will have the exact same problems over and over and we will only sink deeper into the sh!t hole we are already in. |

our teams problem is not this or that player, it's the whole transfer policy. Why do we have so many makeshift options in the team, why do we need to keep recalling players that have been out the team for ages.
Janku couldn't get a game for about 2 seasons, now all of a sudden he's the first choice left back? Storari floated about on loan, now he's pulled straight into the side, boriello the same. we've not put any effort into raising these players, we've just hastily pulled them into the side to cover gaps. When are we going to look at our team and go, "this is what we need, now who do we get?" and please Leo, lose the stupid Diamond midfield, it was great when it first came in but it's had it's day. don't need it now Kaka is gone anyway and we have no good playmaking midfielder to put in his place.

So, we're not buying anyone at all.
I just wanna stress out that the last time we had transition from our great team we've finished up 11th ('96/97). Next season ('97/98) 10th. I wonder where we'll be at the end of this?! I don't wanna be pessimistic at all so I reckon we'll fight for UEFA Cup qualification. ![]() |

If there´s someone here, just look for some stream and watch Internacional against Goias right now in Brazilian Championship:
Take a look at the #10 Giuliano and the #7 Marquinhos from Inter(red team). Giuliano I already hyped here, but this Marquinhos it´s the first time that I saw. Inter fans say he´s the real deal(already scored a amazing goal in the game), and was Inter bright spot at Brazilian under-20 Championship this year. Btw, people like to praise the RB and LB of Goias(green team), but I never watch them playing besides 2 times... This Giuliano was amazing(and MVP) with Brazil under-20 NT that won South America Championship... and now(if I´m not wrong), is in his fourth game as a starter in Inter first team. What a difference to see a AMD that at least run a lot ![]() Maybe someone by Milan is reading it right now, and buy this player before his price is out of reach for our new transfer police ![]() ![]() |

You right Milan have been replacing talented player with poorer player what else is new we have been suffering for a lack of investment for 5 maybe 6 years. Even in 2005 Milan brought Dharosoo as cover for Redondo it has been a chronic problem since Berlusconi became president and pm. There is nothing we can do if Berlusconi doesn’t want to spend cash on the team except use primavera players or get a player on free transfer, if we didn’t have the likes of storari abate borriello we would be in poorer position.

According to people in Italy, the TV and Media is saying that Milans mecato is over, Galliani isn't negotiating with anyone, and NO ONE IS COMING!!!!!
![]() Since we let Viudez and Cardacio go, does that free up two spots on our roster? |

We just don't have the money for it. Why? Ask Mr Berlusconi, a.k.a. "the stingy c*nt," and Galliani, who failed to renew an aging squad for several season in a row (when we actually had money to spend). We're gonna get thrashed by Real Madrid in the CL, I can promise you that much. |

You're absolutely right. The whole philosophy was wrong. Weaknesses in the team should have been identified each year and corrected. Formations should be discussed with the coaching staff and appropriate personnel bought. Remember when Carlo asked for Adebayor last year? Berlu bought him Ronaldinho, which was really ridiculous! I don't think any effort was made to rejuvenate the squad since 2003. Honestly. Let's look at all positions: GK: Bought no one substantial. Abbiati back from loan. That was it. Wingbacks: Cafu was a surprise, and used til he looked silly on the field. Same thing happening with Zambro. Aside from Janku, we havent bought any proper "long term" solution wingbacks. Barca bought Dani Alves, we got Zambro---so he wasnt good enough for Barca, but we gladly accept him. Why? Cos he came cheap. A Zambro in his prime would have cost double that amount Centerbacks: Bought no proper starting-material centerbacks. Stam was bought when he was already old. Then it was just second rate stuff---Bonera, Coloccini, etc etc. Thiago Silva was the only purchase, and that too AFTER Maldini retired. We should've bought his potential successor earlier and gradually phase him in. If Lucio or Samuel are injured, Inter have Cordoba, Materazzi. If NEsta and Silva are injured---we are DEAD. Midfielders: All cheap. Flamini on a free. Rest were all pathetic stopgaps. Vogel, Dhorasoo, Beckham. Chances came and went to buy the next Milan midfielder, but everyone seemed too expensive Forwards: Imagine if we actually bought Torres----that is a long-term solution. Instead we get Oliveira, Boriello, and of course Pippo. This management has been pathetic. |

Then there is Pato ... These three players should have actually been in our team nowadays if for some reasons, the first two ones didn't fail (we won't come back on all that again). They were clearly bought to rejuvenate this team. That didn't work, that's it, we won't "remake" our history each time we lose a game ... we will win some games very easily this year, we will maybe do better than expected (some people already condamn this team in the middle of the Serie A table whereas only 2 games were played !!), we will lose games again because of probably the same mistakes (players not running or something like that), etc. Actually, I think this defeat could give more power to Leonardo (more power with the players, and also regarding the medias, the guy can say he asked for players and that it is Berlusconi who doesn't want to buy them, he can say it without any reply from Berlusconi, actually, medias will make Berlusconi the responsible of any defeat this season, and when we know how his image is important for him ...). |

since all Boriello seems to do is hold the ball and pass it off, does anyone think he can backup Dinho a bit? Bori runs more and i think that he could win more balls, espiecially in the air

I don't think he has the required skills to play in this position and in this role. I would prefer that Leonardo tries his 4-3-3 again with in attack: Pato - Huntelaar - Borriello Pato would be free in this formation and we could rely on him to help the midfielders to pass the ball to the strikers if needed (or to himself of course). Borriello could play just behind Huntelaar for example, and on the right, that would allow him to shot with his left foot. The main problem in this formation is that it would be difficult to play it for an entire season as we don't have the required players as backups (except if you consider Ronaldinho as the backup for Pato, Inzaghi for Huntelaar and Abate for example for Borriello, with Di Gennaro able to play in all those positions, well or not, that's another problem). |
