Blaming Carlo and now Leo is stupid. No builder can consytuct a house with a bunch of old, cracked, past it's prime wood. A couple of 2X4s of fresh new wood can't really help, especially when the foundation is crumbling and no longer up to code. (I think that's the worst building metaphor ever used here, and I appologise, but this whole last couple of years has been kind of disgusting.)
If changes aren't made at the top...

Maybe I'm being over dramatic, but this is very disheartening, to see managment and ownership that seems not to care. That is a very dangerous way for any sporting franchise to be operated.

sad but true. http://www.milanmania.com/images/smilies/u31.gif

this year we need to play some of our young guys that have heart. see what Abate, Albertazzi, Strasser, Harmony, Antonini, Di Gennaro, Nnamdi, Zigoni, Beretta, etc can do. Give Leo a pass this year. Sell Dinho, Dida, Janku, Oddo, Kala, etc in the winter. Maybe try to swap R80 for Cassano. that would be a dream. Also send Abbaiti for Marchetta. It appears that Rafinha was never sold, he would be a great addition.

i would name Nesta captain for the rest of the season. He is among the great players ever, and he can command respect.

If we opened next season looking someting like-

Marchetta
Rafinha-Nesta-Silva-Zambro/Albertazzi
Abate-Hernandes/Pirlo-Flamini
Cassano
Pato-Huntelaar

i would be extremely happy
Forza Milan!

Carlo would have started with the same team against inter. Maybe Ambro instead of Flamini which would have p!ssed everyone off and Seedorf instead of Ronnie (Which again would have p!ssed the posters here off).

Gatusso would still have got injured, still have given a penalty. I believe Carlo would have had his man on and that is a mistake a new manager like Leo can be forgiven for. He will be ready next time, we all learn from things like this.

Janku and Zambro would still have been bad.

Tactical changes are what you all asked for, you are getting them (as much he can with the current players).

Seedorf and Ambro out for Ronnie and Flamini is what you asked for. You have got that.

What more can Leonardo do? If anybody wants to criticise Leonardo then come up with logical reasons why other than the fact that he is new to management. We dont hear Juve fans complaining about Ferrara's inexperience!
Ferrara worked as an assistant for Lippi in the NT for 3 years where he worked with most of the current Juve players (young and old). He was a big shot with Juve when they won crap loads of the trophies with many players who are still with with Juve. Ferrara also worked as a 'technical director' at Juve. Leo wasn't that big at Milan and has no managerial experience whatsoever.

This is not to say that it is Leo's fault only. We certainly should have had at least a FB and a midfielder. As a matter of fact I am criticizing our old guard and management for being lethargic. If Leo gets players who are willing to go the extra mile without complaining, he surely can manage Milan very well.

However, my stance is the same as before. Leo's personality is not as dominant as that of Carlo and Maldini. He will have a tough time managing our old guard which has achieved far more than what Leo has achieved.

I give this mercato a big fat F. Really terrible work. I don't understand how Leo is supposed to work with what he has. I still think if we're extremely lucky with injuries we might have a shot at the scudetto, but it's no more than Fiorentina, Napoli and Palermo's chances of winning it. Doesn't mean we can't hope...

If you are going to tell a story then tell it properly. Leonardo won the scudetto in 1999 and played alongside the likes of Boban and Weah. Ferrara may have won a hat full of trophies, but Leonardo won the WC in 94 and lost in the final in 98. Leonardo is widely regarded as the best scout at Milan and has been a director. Anybody who has listened to him as a pundit on BBC would know he talks alot of sense.

Im not saying hes a good manager, because I dont know enough about him to jdge him yet. BUT thats works both ways, lets give him time.

Despite us having an "F" for the mercato and an imbecile for a president, I still hope and believe that we can have a decent season. It all depends on if Nesta stays fit. If so, we can finish 3rd IMO and hopefully get to the quarterfinals of the CL.

That for Milan, sadly, is now a decent season.

I think there is really no point in changing coaches. The fact of matter is, any coach, no matter how good he is, can not make miracles happen. You can get the greatest coach in the history of soccer to coach a team full of players like you and me and the team still won't be able to even put up a decent fight. As it currently constructed, this team just doesn't have the talent to win trophies, no matter who is coaching. The start of our rebuilding has to come from the management rather than the coaches. Without proper management building the team correctly, even Jesus can't save this team from being terrible.

I have absolutely no doubt that he has good knowledge of football. He is smart, intelligent and speaks many different languages. However we still have to see that knowledge in practice and I understand that takes time. Given the right players and some time, he surely can come up with strategies. I agree with that.

But my point is that he is not being taken seriously by our egoistical old guard. This is because these 'legacy players' have achieved a lot more with Milan than Leo. These players do not take Leo seriously and hence we cannot form a good team around these guys. The only way out of this problem is to get a hard-a$$ coach (not available in the market) or to remove these older players who are unwilling to play well. I would logically prefer the second option since we have Abate, Antonini, Di Gennaro who are more willing to play well and have talent to do so. We can also occasionally use players from Primavera team such as Strasser who would be a good substitute for Rino.

Again, I do no doubt Leo as a coach but he is not made to coach the older generation.

Moth-her-F***!
Heitinga to Everton for 6.2M???

I don't know what any of you think, but I rated this dude, and thought he was decent enough as a Stam role player. He's young (relatively), versatile, can play in either CB or RB, and is part of the Dutch NT setup. I for one would have welcomed him here.

%^$&#@!!!!!!! How the hell is it that we can't manage decent signings like this and teams like Everton can?!!?

Everton sold Lescott to City for like 20 m. Thats what I call business.

boing boing, you want a hard ass coach. Two questions:
1. Who (Dont worry about whether it is likely to happen, just name your ideal)
2. What happens when Berlus**** tells him to stop being a hard ass on Ronnie?
3. What happens when Berlsu**** starts getting arsy with him in the media?
